Ink and wash is one of my favorite techniques for journal keeping! I love recording family treasures...some I've kept some I've passed along to younger family members, but I have them always in my journals. I've done my grandmother's necklace, my sister's mother of pearl ring, my grandfather's magnifying glass, Dad's pocketknives and more...

Wonderful tutorial Cathy - I love this sketch and it's also so helpful and interesting to see ( very close-up) how you use your journals to record very personal things.
