@@peytonslusser1004 from what I know it shouldn’t if you’re gentle with it however I can see how it’d ruin it if A. You tie it too tight especially as it’s drying, B. When it’s dry, pull on the band instead of gently removing it, or C. The rubber bands get like somehow dried onto the bristles so you’d have to pull which would impair the bristle quality.

Ok so the first thing is... I dont think you should wash your brushes in a stagnant water... Always use sink... Use flowing water plus... XD the stigma mat was a big winner last time... But this looks so promising and worth it... But if i would buy that... I would definitely use that drying part more XD... That is so helpful... Is just like a handy version of stigma mat... So basically you can remake it with the hot glue hack and sewing elastic Band, or jersey textiles (that might be better for drying) , from like a waist band into the according shapes.. Seriously, 50 bucks? Home made it's maybe a dollar or 2.. And the size of the holes will definitely fit, because you made it custom... 🙄 You could even get creative and make it another appliance.. So it would be even more than just that

Exactly. I haven’t used makeup for long enough to have to worry about reshaping my brushes but it’s so easy to just put hot glue on plastic or something, (I used a cheap jewelry box made of plastic/paper)

How to reshape ANY brush: Wet the brush and drag it on a dry, or slighlty moist bar of soap, so that it is coated with a thick layer of soap, yet is not dripping. Manipulate the shape with your fingers, making sure that any flyaway bristles are firmly stuck down. Let it dry overnight. The next day give it a gentle wash. Your brush should be as good as new! I have restored many brushes I use for drawing with this method, some I even thought were not salvageable. On a side note, I recommend a honey treatment for higher quality brushes with natural bristles that have become rough. Wet the brush thoroughly and coat it with raw honey. The next day rinse with water. The bristles will feel soft and bouncy. Enjoy your brush!

I LOVE The brush Guard for drying and shaping my brushes. To me, they are a life-changer. And they’re SO easy to use. They dry my brushes super fast. You can get them on Amazon. I suggest the variety pack, several of them if you’re going to clean all your brushes at one time. I can’t imagine cleaning my brushes without them. And no, I am not paid to say this.

This does the same job as the $2 brush mats on aliexpress To reshape them, simply rotate the handle of the brush between your palms while it is still wet...the brush will naturally reshape itself Save your coins

you can just sew bands by hand out of stretchy fabric to make a brush shaper and use either a knockoff brush washer or use it with a hair brush (with extra bristles) under running water to wash it. maybe it wont work as well but its better than using 50 dollars for something so limited. edit: if you dont know how to sew just watch a basic tutorial and sew maybe like twice down the seam and tie it. ive done it as a test before and even though ive tried my best on different occasions i cant break it (although i cant even open a pickle jar no joke lmao)

I love this thing!!! The horizontal/vertical silicone ridges (depending on how you're holding the brush spa) as actually meant to flick the excess water out of your brushes. You also don't need that much cleanser, she used *a lot*. The kit I got came with a gel cleanser, a foam cleanser, and one of those little cake ones that suction cups to your sink. It was all pricey, but worth it. Especially if you've dropped a wad on Sigma brushes! Any brushes you have to lay flat to dry, you can just use your fingers to reshape the bristles. Another cool trick I learned in beauty school: use a gentle shampoo and very lightweight conditioner ( go professional for these; they're going to be wiped all over your face) on your makeup brushes. Wash, flick out excess water, shape with fingers, and lie flat on a towel to dry. You can create a towel roll with your brushes inside, and that can help with the shape as well.

Just put various small brushes in one pocket to reshape them all. In my art school we were thought to reshape flat brushes with a paper towel around the tip of the brush when its wet! works really well to keep it crisp, precise and flat. Works with other brush types as wel!

3 months late, but you could easily DIY it. Just use some hot glue on something sturdy and smooth. Make waves and dots with the glue. Works just fine for me. You could easily learn how to sew elastics on something and use that to reshape. And obviously just let it air dry. 50 dollars just seems like too much

You can get super cheap plastic brush guards with holes that are way more breathable and allow your brushes to dry faster. You can also find textured silicone mats that are smaller and take up way less space that get your brushes just as clean. Holding that big, clunky thing is just so inconvenient. My brush cleaner literally just sits in the palm of my hand and gets my brushes squeaky clean.

I just reshape with my hands after washing, this seems awkward and bulky to me compared to having a flexible mat and a cup. When you buy better quality brushes it's less of an issue, my old amazon multipack brushes get out of wack easily but even a step up like bh cosmetics I've had that set for years and it still has it's shape without any tools

I just use a cheap plastic soap dish with ridges or palm of my hand, squeeze the bristles, pat with towel, fluff back into shape and let air dry and always been ok for me. Brushes still going strong years later 🤔

Wipe your eye brushes gently back & forth on a ‘sensitive’ baby wipe after applying... always clean when you come back...
