Do you think the Hobbystar 4985, 1650kv motor can be ran on 8s without damaging?
@RCexplained8 ай бұрын
Too hard to tell, shafts break on this motor randomly from much lower power levels.

Would you be willing to tell me if the Saiko Guardian is better than the castle 1721 2400kv for speed runs and drag?

I've never used a Saiko motor. The 1721 is hard to beat for its price.

Very useful to know. I'm new to RC and am building my first aircraft but don't know what size motor to use. Any ideas would be welcome as to how I would determine this from the type, weight size etc?

Search on the channel, I've done a full video on this.

I see KV as the electronic gearbox of the motor. Unless you are changing gearing parameters (like battery voltage, wheel size, spur gear,...) it's wise to stay close to original specified KV of the vehicle. Want more power, go for a bigger motor with a simular KV.

Hi there just got a losi dbxle. With the stock motor 56113 780 kv 17/50 gears got 92 kph. Esc was cool motor was warm lipo where cool. So I changed the motor to a leopard 5892 1200kv with 13/50 gears. Went 101 kph and the esc cut out 3 time and was hot the motor was cooking with no fan but it was 34 degrees or about 95 f. So the 780kv is rated for 8s but seen others run it on 12s. I think running a 8s high kv system is a no go. But maybe running a hobbywing max 5 g2 with the 780kv or the hobbywing 56118 800 kv on 12s mite be better and gear up slowly. I would like to use the stock motor but it mite fall apart any info would be great.

Just curious why you were looking for more power and went with a smaller motor? Power doesn't really come from Kv values, power comes more from the size of the motor.

@@RCexplained the leopard is 1200kv so going from 26k stock to 40k I thought I could get more speed and I did with the stock pinion but was cooking and was a hot day. Just a trial of a spare motor.
