Brushless Whoop Carnage

Maiden flight of my new brushless whoop.
Specs:
Frame: Beta65 Pro
Motors: BetaFPV 0603 16000KV
Flight Controller + ESC: BeeCore OMNIBUS F3 V1
Receiver: FrSky XM
Camera+VTX: BetaFPV Z01 AIO (heavy!), later replaced by separated Eachine E010C E010S AIO
Canopy: BetaFPV, later replaced by Tiny6 spare canopy
Battery: MyLipo.de 255mAh 1S LiPo

do you have the same power loss in the brushed whoops ? when you give full throttle but the whoop just keep falling and then climb up again (sorry for my english) . awesome flying btw :)

Swishyas Thanks! :) I would say these 0603 brushless motors are better than regular brushed 615 in that regard. They have a bit more top power, so it is easier to throttle up and stop the fall. The power output is non-linear on those tiny brushless motors, so it hovers somewhere around 50% of throttle, but when you give more throttle, there’s more power still available.

Do you think upgrading to 0703 will help it ?

I think the problem is not really in the motor capabilities, but rather in the propeller size. It's hard to generate much thrust with such a tiny propeller. 0703 motors will make the whoop 1.5 grams heavier, they are slightly lower KV so the end thrust could be even lower since propellers will rotate at slower speed. They will also most likely need more power because of larger stator size, which means larger battery and heavier whoop. I think it will work out with a larger 75mm frame and 40mm propellers, but I would not put 0703 motors on a 65mm frame.
