Just speculating, without any knowledge or info. But I think such routes will be taken up by the new Talgo trains ICE L and the ones from the danish railway operator. As all lines (even from Berlin to Hamburg) are all only 230kmh or less. So you dont really need a 300+kmh train. Would have been nice if those lines would have been built for greater speeds, but the costs just rise exponencially

@ttc8583Ай бұрын
@@lukerogers6133 The reason the windows and seats are not aligned is to save costs. In contrast to the ICE 3 and ICE 3M, there are only 2 types of carriages, namely end carriages and intermediate carriages. These have the same design for both 1st and 2nd class; Naturally, the distance between the seats is greater in 1st class compared to 2nd class, resulting in poor alignment of the seats in relation to the windows. The original ICE 3 and ICE 3M train sets did have a difference in width of the windows for 1st class and 2nd class, so the seats were originally aligned with the windows. During the first renovation, an extra row of seats was installed in both 1st and 2nd class, which also destroyed the alignment of the seats in relation to the windows.

Unfortunately everything else (service, timetable etc) was sh*te: onboard catering wasn't working "due to technical issues", the service was partially cancelled (terminated in Stuttgart instead of Munich). The train itself, however, was great: 1st class seats are very comfortable, spacious and, very importantly, ergonomic for those longer journeys. Train ride somehow seemed very smooth. Not sure if this was just my subjective perception, but it just seemed so much more smooth and better insulated than, say, Frecciarossa 1000. It's a shame that DB is in its current state.

@CX1032 ай бұрын
They tend to go for anything small and easy to carry that looks valuable.
@olli25912 ай бұрын
They wait for people to go to the toilet and then will look into exterior pockets of luggage for valuables or steal stuff people left laying around. Many people leave notebooks, tablets and headphones at their seat while going to the toilet. The pickpockets will then quickly exit at the next station. That's why they prefer routes with two stations close together. Even better, of course, are longer stays at one station where they can exit right after commiting the crime. Frankfurt Hbf, for example, is famous for pickpockets, beggars and drug addicts going through the trains during their long stay at the station.

What exactly do you mean? The fact that the trainset has a top speed doesn't mean it's running at that speed (I rarely drive my car at top speed). It's important to understand that Germany does not have a dedicated high speed rail network, and ICE are the STANDARD trains for long distance travel between bigger cities. Only a few newer sections are approved for this top speed and are also only used to a limited extent by other trains. Otherwise, ICE trains run on the normal rail network. We rent bikes or have a second bike at our destination, you can't even get your bike on a train during rush hours it isn't allowed. The bistro/ restaurant wagon, no comments on the offering but look at Polish and Czechoslovakia dinner cars this is all tasteless microwaved or prepared somewhere else. (Actually I can taste it their is no love involved, no joke a serious matter). But the thing I really want to say the seating sucks in comparison to the former ICE3 which had brilliant seats this is old skool ICE-1 seating, not my favourite absolutely not! I actually rode the neo yesterday from Düsseldorf to Utrecht and 2 weeks ago from Utrecht to Duisburg it's a very nice train much better than the previous one or ICE4 or ICE-T which I also used yesterday.

You have no idea how many cyclists use their own bikes to go on day trips/holidays. During the holiday season (say May to September) it is often hard to travel with your bike on Dutch intercities because all bike places are occupied. On the Amsterdam/Berlin intercities the bike reservations are usually sold out months in advance, so more capacity on the ICEs is much appreciated.

I'm not a big fan of this high-speed project as a whole. I live in Flanders, the northern part of Belgium. In two weeks, I'll be taking the car to Lille, right across the border in France, and hop on a low-cost Ouigo to Marseille. It takes 4h30 to the very south of France. That's absolutely amazing. For Frankfurt, I would simply go by car via Antwerp, a little stretch through Holland, and I'm there. The complexity and slowness and too many stops make this high-speed project from BE to DE a waste of money for many Belgians. 3h and 8 minutes for 441km...

What's a kilometre? The BBC knows, but forgets we live in the UK and share our measurements with America.

You really, really need to blur faces. It is no longer acceptable to post pics/vids with recognizable faces.

If you don’t want your face on camera, you will need to stay out of public spaces. Go straight from your home to the car and wear a mask so you aren’t seen by CCTV, traffic cameras, dashcams etc.

ICE will never be as smooth, and as iconic as the TGV. However hard it tries. Afterall, there is only 'one' TGV.

but it already is far far more comfortable. The french can learn something from the comfort and service from ice's.

Mais qu'est-ce que vous racontez comme bêtises ? 😂 Les rames TGV schaloupent commes les paniers aux singes. N'importe quoi 🙄

😅😅😅😅 it's too small for me, old fashion, dark and gruesome but go ahead like your TGV's

That is such nonsense. The TGVs sway and ride far rougher than ICEs, thanks to France using regular ballast on their LGVs instead of a fixed concrete base for the track (Feste Fahrbahn) like in Germany.

50% seats are backward facing?? What a 💩 train indeed Why don’t they learn from Asian high speed trains 🎉
