Why is there a dual guitar, if there's only one guitar on stage? I get that they are using backing tracks, but how much is too much?

It's a classic live sound engineer trick. get one guitar signal duplicate, pan one left and one right, delay of the sides by a few milliseconds 20 at most, helps if both sides have different guitar sounds. That and the fact that this vid sounds like it has the board mix and audience mics mixed in with it.

They also use backing tracks for ambience tracks and such, all of the rhythm guitars are played live though.
