About your gearing, I originally had a Shimano 105: 52x36 chainring, and 11-30 cassette. I bought a 11-34 cassette and it was a game changer when climbing steeper hills. A new cassette is cheaper than a new chainring. Stay safe!

if you have a long cage rd most are rated up to 42 (105 & grx in my experience) without the need of a wt roadlink, gearing would spread apart though.. nice climb btw and always good to explore around the area, nice views!

Thanks! Yup I actually like the closer range of this cassette. I think changing the small front chain ring should be enough for me

If you want to do the Taiwan KOM Challenge sir, the Surly Drivetrain will help you a lot. Last October when I joined, there are a lot of cyclists were using a 1x setup.. 36T in the front and 42T in the back. They even used a Deore XT rd.

Yes sir. That kind of setup will help you a lot especially in the last 10km which is the steepest section of the race. You can join the Spring and the Summer Edition which is fun ride and no neutral zone unlike in the October Edition in which you have 18kms of neutral zone. You can even go to the front of the neutral zone just to have a chat with the pros. I can assure you that it is fun.

I'm not. Unfortunately, I will be out of town. Ya lisud2x na nga gearing, pero the route is hilly, but I think it's not that steep. So kaya! haha

My Kespor GSX 2.0 has a 46/34 in the front and 11-32t in the back. I find that climbs more than 15% gradient become really difficult for my gearing. Haha.
