I learnt of Slough Feg and Pre Rust in Peace Megadeth from this game! Also the Firelord = Ozzy and the Killmaster is Lemmy Kilmeister...to legends of metal!! Lars is a Tribute to Ulrich from MetallicA and his style is Early Mustaine (who left MetallicA to Form Megadeth.) This Game is a Love Letter to my kind of Metal! Also Tim Curry and Jack Black voice acting together....Legendary!

This game is one of the best games I've ever played. It's so bizarre and unique, and the world building is unlike anything I've seen before. This game molded my taste in music and made me the person i am today. Though a sequel will be amazing, I'd much rather want a remake with better graphics and a jumping mechanic to get new players on board to enjoy this masterpiece. Then, just maybe a sequel.

I adore this game. The multiplayer was a spiritual sequel to Sacrifice and they made it work on console. The best Action RTS that nobody wanted to play.

I love how the origin of the world story shows the demon and it looks almost exactly like Ganon from the Windwaker intro. 😆

I love the small references they do to their own games. During the intro. The dance the band member does is the Bobby Zilch dance from Psychonauts, even does the sound. And in Psychonauts 2 when picking up the guitar in Psy King's Sensorium. Raz pulls it like Eddy pulls the axe in this game. I liked the RTS parts. It was awesome being able to use your vehicle and powers on large number of enemies and actually influence a battle yourself. Rather than relying solely on your troops and hope they make it. I wished there were more enemies in the world to fight. Bigger groups. This was the main reason for me to play the story so I could take on larger enemy numbers at once. It's a unique game from the good old era of actually getting a game. No pre purchase, pay walls, micro buying, bugs or hoping it's a decent game. You got what you expected and it worked.

Cool, I did not realize the intro was a reference to one of their previous games. But yeah fighting enemies was only fun on the story, was too easy in the open world

I loved this game so much. It was such a fever dream though. None of my friends played it and it was before I even had internet in my home. I just bought it from a Blockbuster on a whim and loved it so much. That being said, I'm not sure I'd want a sequel. It is such a perfect time capsule of an age and so unique among fantasies.

We waited 12 years for a Dragon's Dogma 2, and now we're finally getting it, eventhough BL is 3 years older than DD, and Jack has confirmed that he very much wants a BL2 and said that if they ever decide to greenlight it, he will be there with bells on...I just hope they manage to get to it before he gets too old and his vocal cords can't handle the screaming anymore.

I absolutely loved Brutal Legend, even the RTS, only thing i disliked was the absolutely insane difficulty scaling that comes in the final part when you start fighting the Emos...Wasn't until i randomly watched another youtuber's video of him playing through it with his friend recently, that we both discovered, you can f*cking upgrade your soldiers!! And when he did, the battle he struggled with where he had to restart like 5 times, became a bloody cake walk...The game Never told you this, and i had to brute force my way through those sections, it was aggravating to say the least. Been meaning to replay it but on PC to see how much easier upgrading your troops makes it.

But apparently, after you reach stage level 3 (or 2, i forget if you start at 1 or 0) you can upgrade Headbangers, Razor girls and Thunderhogs, which will Drastically boost their stats. Apparently an upgrade Razor Girl can Decimate your opponents...sure wish i knew of that way back when...

Bro i really wish Triple-A games nowadays had that sense of humor. I miss new games being silly and funny. Brutal Legend doesn't take itself seriously and got some good laughs out of me, just like Yakuza and Far Cry Blood Dragon

Lovely story about this game, my dad got it and another 360 game on sale for me as a gift, and tiny 11 year old me was introduced to metal music entirely through this game. It has directly influenced around half of the music I listen to today.

Another thing most people didn’t know. You can go to the graveyard to meet up with Lila,so you can mourn together at Lars grave. You can go to a spot to also just make out with Ophelia. Only one guy on KZbin showed that off.

I play this game once or twice a year, it is one of my favorite games of all time and a true show of art made with love. I doubt a second game would end up being release, but if it ends up being the case, Ill be forever happy

I'm fairly certain that Lars and Ophelia weren't ever a couple. I think Eddie just thought they were, though I could be wrong, it's been a long time since I played the game.

@r Do you know when they say boyfriend? Cause I've played this game a ton (tho not in awhile), and I never got the impression they were a couple. If they were together, you'd think anyone would have... anything to say about it, since they were seen kissing. But they don't. Also, the scene where they kiss, I got the impression she was teasing Eddie about liking Lars, and once they kissed, she confirmed that she doesn't actually have feelings for him. Like, "Oh, you think I like him? Well he does have all these amazing traits! Maybe I do like him! :P"

hmmm I dont think they explicitly say boyfriend, but they act as if they are a couple, with her hugging Lars all the time, saying his praises, and her and Eddie deciding to not talk about their relationship with Lars as it would break his heart, so Lars loves Ophelia atleast.... @@Svikter I can't think of a single time she hugged him. She's saying his praises cause he's the leader of their group, and she admires him. The reason they give for not telling everyone is "gossip wouldn't be good for the group right now", since they're about to launch an attack on Lionwhyte, and never mention Lars. If her and Lars were a couple, "gossip" probly wouldn't be the thing that keeps them quiet. Lita says the line about Ophilia breaking his heart, cause of what Ophilia just said, and Lars is noble and pure and her betrayal of their cause would hurt him deeply.

During the same scene that creeped you out, she brushed off Eddie calling Lars her boyfriend as "saying stupid things". So no, don't think they were a couple, at least in the game events.

Yes the game is janky at parts. Yes, some moments are tedious. But man, it's fun. It has style. And Jack Black is the perfect protagonist for it. You want Jack Black a game inspired by the spirit of norse mythology that looks like a living metal album cover? Just ask him. There is no way he declines.

What you're forgetting is this game was plagued with patches out the wazoo!! Over 20GB near the end of its shelf life. Mostly due to multiplayer online. Not until GOG games picked it up did it become the retro classic as you mentioned tirelessly in this video.

The RTS portion of this game was my least favorite, especially during the end when its RTS, cut scene, RTS. But the meat of the game is so solid inwas able to over look it. If they ever remade it, i would want them to go more of the God of War norse route and add customizable abilities and upgrades for Eddie rather than units and stage battles.
