How are you able to get that high quality recording? Also, I have BoS? Is Kuban different graphically? That looks awesome.

GizmoMaltese I’m cheating . . . This is recorded with the oculus using the in game Recorder (Ctrl-r). I then play it through the track player later on and record via shadowplay. Kuban is a new map and time period (1943 I believe), with new planes. It’s still in EA at this point but I think it’s being released next month or in Jan.

I can't wait for the day when VR looks like that video in terms of detail. We just need another generation of HMD's and two generations of video cards. It's a bit of a wait but it's going to be amazing. It's already is amazing but being able to play with no HUD and see planes in the far distance will be a great leap forward.

GizmoMaltese I know your comment is old, but to follow up, I have a Vive Pro coming sometime this month :) I’ll fill you in on how it looks, supposedly there’s no ‘screen door effect’ and the resolution is upped quite a bit.

Peter te Linde it’s good, I was blown away when I first put it on but kind of ‘normalized’ to it after a while, like I got used to it and the increased res became unnoticeable, if that makes sense. I’ve been playing MP using my trackir so it hasn’t been getting a lot of use out of it. I know some people have been using it for MP but for me, it’s more important to have a wide FOV and be able to turn my view 180 with a small movement instead of craning my whole head around.

When i start this in vr the main menu is behind me on the back of my couch wich is 1.5 from my seat got any to adjust that? Cuz when i do start up in the plane this game is fucking awesome!

You should be able to hit your 'recenter VR' button when you're in the main menu. It should work!

Wearing vr hs is indeed different you feel like your sitting upright in your chair so aint to bad though i never get motion sick anymore after playing 8 hours straight vr on my ps4 😅 got the htc vive for my pc now thats real vr😇

5thgearsimracing hmmmm to be honest, I don’t know. I have a 1080i and I have to set everything to low to get a stable 90fps. Perhaps check on the official or Steam forum? If you like sims tho, this is definitely a game to buy, especially now since I believe it’s on sale.

I've got a liquid cooled 2080ti and 9900k, and at max settings it's barely able to maintain 90 fps on a Rift. SteamVR reports something like 10ms frame time out of 11ms allowable. If you're flying low it can stutter sometimes. So yes. You need a killer PC. Like BrutalInsane said, 1080ti is a minimum for VR in IL-2.

have you had any issues when watching your recorded flights after using VR, like... instead of looking straight ahead it appears you are looking like 15-20 degrees to one side?

Nice video. Map looks great. I bought it during the steam sale but have yet to fly on it. IL-2 is such a good experience in VR and it’s nice to have something a little more casual than DCS.

i really dont understand the point of all this "THIS AND THAT VR VIEW" videos.Watched on a regular monitor its nothing like what you experience in VR.In the case of your video for example, its just a badly lagging shit show with Track-Ir (kinda) screen on the upper right.... I know its extremely exciting to experience IL2 BOS in VR but these pointless videos simply aint capable of delivering that feeling. Its like telling a paraplegic how awesome the walking feels in your new nike air force 1´s.And of course you know its pointless but >>> "fuck it! lets put him on these babys anyway!"
