Your advice is golden. I did exactly what you said and I went to school and I worked jobs I definitely did not want, some were crappy, and I lived with people I didn't really want to go because it was clean and safe to when my ideas failed. I knew those were my only options to GIVE MYSELF A CHANCE get over the hump and to get to where I wanted to be. It's the sacrifice you make because we all can only start from where we are. Even if you don't have matches or a lighter, you can still learn to start a fire. You are teaching people to start fires in their spirits. Thank you.

If she is out there reading these comments, I just want to add that there is NO time like this time in history to get yourself known if you have talent. It has never been easier with youtube, tiktok, and all the other social media platforms. Billie Eilish started by posting her song Ocean Eyes to the internet. It blew up and she is now one of the biggest musicians in the world. Allie Sherlock went out busking on the streets from the time her father would allow her as a child. It has NEVER been easier than right now to get discovered. Start posting your talent online, share with friends and family, ask them to share it around. BLOW UP social media with your voice. Start your own record label so YOU control what happens to your music. Anyone can do this if they want it bad enough. I understand the fear to not be able to make ends meet and be desperate but I totally agree with Arlan to shift your mindset, especially when you are uniquely gifted and have a dream. The ability to do what you need to do while figuring stuff out will give you so much life experience and personal growth that will be invaluable to you.

I did delivery for 5 years for various companies it's not what I would recommend. Find a way to not pay rent, live in your car if need be and get a graveyard shift in a factory (it pays more) I'd stay away from meat processing it's too exhausting and go for easier work like 3M, even cereal plants Kellogg etc or dog food plants are easier than meat processing. Some like 3M offer tons of overtime and double pay on Sunday. I pulled myself out of homelessness with factory work and now own a home that's the advice I'd give.

I hope that young girl makes it... I pray she returns home to a safe family member and takes action on all the advice. Swallow the pride and ego and do whatever it takes to move herself forward and upwards onto new things. God Bless her. I would love to here her success in the future.

I quit both of my jobs two weeks ago. I stopped showing up. I fried myself to the core the last 6 months and I just couldn’t go on anymore. I could not show up any longer. I have enough money for auto payment tomorrow, and enough for rent in 2 weeks and in the mean time I’ll be freelancing. Instacart, freelance writing (breaking in to that) and going to the gym. Finding businesses, calling people, I’m new at this but I can do it, there is no other option. I will never ask my family for money or a couch to sleep on. This is up to me, this is my opportunity right here because I cannot fail. Stack that money. Day by day. I’m gonna do this.

I know a young lady like that. I HOPE that the young lady that called you ACTUALLY listens to you, Because the young lady I know never did, and begs me for money all the time. I finally had to block her. I FEEL for her, but if she is unwilling t actually help herself, there is nothing I can do.

Calling random people to help your music career is not effective but the fact that she did that so she has a unique thought process... She should take that thought process and put it into a song.. if the song is as unique as her thought process and she puts it on tik Tok or social media she could be a star overnight

What if you don’t have a personal network/family/friends what do you suggest?
@jenninemorel769318 күн бұрын
Door to door...get out there and make new friends and acquaintances Get on Event-brite or Meet-ups to find local networking events. Here's something that a friend of mine told me: go to a busy mall and talk to EVERYONE there. Have a flyer or business card in hand and be prepared to share what you can do. Get outside and meet people 💯👌

She can do whatever she'd like to do, but she asked ME for money, and that was my answer. My response is more likely going to help her than hoping she gets discovered. I have worked with dozens of very talented musicians and singers the past 20 years, and many of them are waiters or work in offices to make ends meet. You do what you need to do.
