Lee C got the MK1 (so yes) MK2 yes...MK3 yes... mk2 500 No. I've been a mechanic for ford for 25 years so am lucky to have driven these cars. Even 85% of ford staff say that MK1 is the best looking RS and the MK2 is the worst looking...think ford lost their way with that one especially with the Mk2 RS 500 which looks like it's been on pimp My Ride with stuff just stuck allover it. MK3 is unbelievable to drive but it's lost its RS character. But these are just my opinions bud everyone's got a different opinion.

Ford also put Sparco's in the Puma Racing. I've got a pair of them in a Capri. They hug you even more than the Sparco's in the Focus RS which I also own.

That's not a microphone, that's a motion detector for the alarm as it's got an aftermarket alarm, I've got the exact same one in my EP3.

in the ghia model the seat height adjustment is a button below the seat, raising it electronically, much easier!

Those bloody bonnet locks. My mk2 st3 has a similar design.They work great till you mess with the bumper to do the intercooler or something, then they never work properly again. Don’t see many of these mk1 RS knocking about, bloody lovely car, excellent review.

I’ve always had that seating issue with fords, the seats are just too high but I thought being 6ft4 it was just me but Ive owned 3 STs so cant be that bad lol

I like the fact they are high I have a rare type of dwarfism and I don’t want to have to use all of the equipment for me to see over the seat im 5’1 and I can’t see over many cars so when I learn to drive I will probably drive one of these 👍🏽

The focus is actually a solid car. I had a mk2 (not RS) and so many things wrong with it in the end and it just kept going until eventually the clutch went and I had no choice but to scrap it as it needed £2000 worth of work doing

Lovin' your passion mate. I have a Mk1 Focus RS with 350bhp which is about the limit for the brakes suspension and diff. I could turn the boost up and remap for about 380 but I reckon it'd ruin it. Top vid.

Know what you mean about the key, still in my first car (Fiesta MK6 1.25) and it has the same key which snapped when I was opening the petrol cap to refuel, lucky I don't leave refuels until so late I'd run out on the way home to get the spare key or else i'd be fuuuuuucked that day lol

It’s not actually a duratec engine. It’s just the 2.0 zetec with a turbo slapped onto it and a sporty exhaust, along with a LSD diff.

CRAIGWALKEER1 its good as a daily puts smile on my face when you put foot down has had a few mods, there not as bad as people say they are with the handling and the torque steer if you had fast fwd you know what to expect, had mine 4 months done just under 4000miles in it kick it head in on the weekend kids n misses love it only to get me by till insurance goes down for a evo

andy harper how much are you being quoted for a Evo if you don't mind me asking? Was looking at some in a couple of years but the MR versions are going for a lot. Saw a cat D MR going for 17k. For that sort of money you could get a 3 year old BMW 330D. 5.4 secs to 60mph and get around 40 - 50mpg. 335D is around 4.7 secs but a remapped 330D would cut it. Not as cool as the Evo though. There's so many performance cars out there it's hard to pick 🤣. Been looking at TTS's, golf Rs and now 330 - 335Ds. At the moment I have a mk6.5 fiesta zetec s with a 1.6 diesel engine. Plan on saving up in a few years and get a nice performance car between 10 - 17k

Zain K Zain K £3000 on insurance but i have a claim only got two years of it left so hopefully will go down more once it cleared. Evo prices are going up im really picky i want a red or blue fq with half leather seats and 6speed box seen them go from 17k+ alot of money for a old car but as you said so much cooler and I've always wanted to own one since i was a kid so its a goal for me. Ttrs golf r get are nice but don't have that wow factor cause there alot around but you do get alot of bang for your buck and easy to get power from them

andy harper Woah that is a lot for insurance. Golf Rs are common which I worry about as i believe a car with a 5 seconds 0 to 60 time and possibly affordable is just going to make it easier for some of those idiot boy racers to get and drive like idiots not having respect for other road users. The mk2 TTS are going for around £10 - 12k for a decent mileage one and those aren't as common probably rare. Saw a TTS a few days ago and you can easily tell its not a standard TT which I like. Audis however are overpriced which is something I hate. I do like your VXR but at the moment I need a cheap to run car
