Thanks for making these videos! I have a flight coming up in less than a week on this plane and Delta one, and it’s invaluable to me to know what’s available, what to expect, and therefore how to prepare

As a high Medallion member Ive had the pleasure of being at the JFK Delta One lounge a few times. The Delta staff there are incredible. The lounge is stunningly beautiful and the food and amenities are top notch. Thoroughly impressed. Thank you Delta!

Delta really knocked it outta the park with the Delta One lounge at JFK for sure. I’d love to visit the one at LAX at some point as well. Have you been?

Great review as usual! As someone who has only had bad experiences with Delta (economy though as I have never flown their business class), the Delta One lounge at JFK definitely looks impressive.
@allons.y5 ай бұрын
I think in general there tends to be a stark contrast between every airline when comparing economy and business class. I was honestly surprised at how impressive the new Delta One Lounge is. I wasn't expecting it to me as nice as it was if i'm being honest. Plus the staff that I interacted with that day really were incredible. Makes such a huge difference when the staff is great

Thanks so much! I agree re: Asian airlines but in trying to figure out if I want Cathay or Eva business or Delta One from Taipei to LA, Delta’s hard product is more impressive. The food not so much. This video has given me things to think about!
@allons.y3 ай бұрын
I’m glad you found the review helpful! I’ll say that the catering out of JFK for Delta specifically tends to be better, but out of Taipei the Asian airlines for sure would have much better food. It’s unfortunate that EVA doesn’t fly their newer business class seats to LAX and hopefully Cathay will release their newer business class Aria suites on North American routes soon as well. I definitely feel you on the struggle to decide between hard product and soft product though. I hope you enjoy whatever flight you decide to go with and safe travels✈️

Not gonna lie I was surprised at how nice it was. I don’t find many airport lounges impressive but they nailed it with this one

I wouldn't consider the service you get from Middle Eastern and Asian airlines as over the top per se. That's what the expected service level should look like if I'm dropping over $6k. We're so accustomed to poor quality of service and high costs in this country that we find ourselves being satisfied with mediocrity. I'd agree the lounge does look pretty posh. Other than that, the flight experience itself including the meals look just meh. US airlines have unfortunately become quite embarrassing compared with the rest of the world. Anyway, nice review though.
@allons.y4 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! When I said Asian and Middle Eastern airlines are providing over the top experiences I wasn’t referring to the service, more so about the actual product, like Emirates Gamechanger, Etihad Apartments, Singapore Airlines Double Suites bed etc… I should have been more clear about that. Definitely agree that generally US airlines provide mediocre experience but the particular staff I had on this flight and in the lounge really were great so I wanted to give them the credit they deserve

Do you mind sharing how you found the points deal. I’ve got 80k SkyMiles I was looking to roll into a delta one flight but everything I’ve found is in the 340k points range
@allons.y23 күн бұрын
I booked this flight through Delta’s partner airline Air France using Air France/KLM flying blue miles. I just searched on Air France’s website, found the flight and booked with the Air France/KLM miles. If you want to use Delta SkyMiles your best bet would be to wait and see if Delta releases saver award space which can be significantly less than their normal award pricing. There is no guarantee they will release saver award space though and it usually requires you to be pretty flexible with your dates and destinations. A lot of people also like to just pay cash for main and then use SkyMiles to upgrade to Delta One. Unfortunately delta award pricing tends to be pricier compared to other award programs in general. People often refer to them as “SkyPesos”because of this. That’s also why I booked through Air France’s because award pricing tends to be better if you book through one of their partner airlines instead. virgin Atlantic can also have better deals on award pricing for delta flights as well. But it would require you to have miles with their partner airlines.

What was "brutally honest" about this review?
@RoadLifePursuits5 күн бұрын
There are VERY few delta one lounges so you are mostly on a regular delta lounge....that is a $5000 seat, amazed you scammed that deal with 67,000 points and hardly any cash. No seat is worth 5000 IMO, but hey, if you're rich....why not.
@allons.y5 күн бұрын
Are you implying that the lounge I went to was a regular delta lounge and not the delta one lounge? Because i think it’s pretty clear that it was the delta one lounge in jfk. Unless I’m misunderstanding what you’re trying to say here. And there are definitely deals to be found if you’re persistent enough in looking and with some luck too of course
@RoadLifePursuits5 күн бұрын
@@allons.y I'm saying not many airports actually have delta one only lounges and delta one usually just go into the "regular" delta lounge. And sure there are deals, you got a great one, I have never seen such a good deal on a $5000 seat.
@RoadLifePursuits5 күн бұрын
@ I looked it up, just to be sure, there are only 3 delta one only lounges...so yeah...JFK/BOS/LA.
