So i play fifa or fc or whatever you want to call that, i played a little nhl last year. I have a 10 hour trial and wanted to try nhl 25 but it seems that every issue with fc is the same on nhl. They slowed both games down for some reason. FC has playstyles and they added "roles" this year and its just dog shit. same thing with madden, abilities x factor its so fucking stupid.

NHL 25 is a steaming pile of shit. EA took the NHL license-a golden fucking opportunity-and flushed it down the toilet. This game is so bad, I’d rather play hockey on ROBLOX with square-ass characters and no physics because at least those games have effort. This? This is a bunch of lazy fucks throwing together the same recycled garbage from last year and calling it ‘new.’ Spoiler alert: it’s not. It’s the same buggy, boring mess that EA’s been selling us for years. How do you fuck this up so bad? You could’ve added real innovation: online tournaments where winners get tickets to a fucking Stanley Cup game. Better AI so your team doesn’t play like they’ve never seen ice before. Cooler arenas, legit crowd reactions, maybe even add the AHL to give players something extra. But nah, they skipped all that and said, ‘Here’s some half-baked bullshit. Pay us $70.’ Fuck that. Even the fans in the game are an embarrassment. They just sit there, dead-eyed, like they’d rather be anywhere else-kinda like me while playing this fucking game. EA’s rinks are lifeless, the AI is brain-dead, and the gameplay feels like you’re skating through wet cement. This isn’t hockey. It’s a disgrace to hockey. And let’s talk about pride-or lack of it. It’s like the developers gave zero fucks. They just slapped this together so they could cash in on preorders. I wouldn’t even use this game as a coaster. In 20 years, maybe some collector will laugh at how NHL 25 became the biggest joke in gaming history, the game so shitty it made the NHL dump EA. Until then, don’t waste your money. Hell, don’t even pirate it-it’s not worth the bandwidth. Go play ROBLOX hockey. At least they give a shit... Yeah dude you nailed it with that simple take. LOL

I’m considering buying the game because I want to learn the sport. Hockey is not a popular sport in my region I don’t even understand the rules. Seeing all the negative comments actually makes me want to buy the game more so because I see the same negative comments about Madden and I love Madden. I’m realistic enough to know that you can’t reinvent the wheel so to speak every time a new version is released. No matter what people say about Madden it is the best football game ever made in my opinion. There’s never been a better football game. I also realize that no matter what it is if it’s the best people hate on it like they hate on LeBron James or Beyoncé. Just the world we live in.

I’m in the same boat man! Plan on buying it this week to learn hockey more ! I’m a kings fan. But hockey isn’t that popular obviously where I’m at (California) but it is a fun sport to watch and I want to learn more and sucks I never go into it. And I feel the same with FIFA, now known as FC. When people talk crap on it all the time and to me it’s the best soccer game ever and I love soccer it’s my favorite sport. And football. Ea nhl is an arcade game. Not even close to a real life hockey game. I played hockey for 20 years and do try to play the ea game how you would in real life but I get hammered. Especially if i meet someone who uses all the unreal x moves that may happen once a year in a nhl season. Get nhl 07 or earlier to learn hockey.

As a person who absolutely hated nhl 24, I feel like nhl 25 is a bit better. Still hate the dumb pressure meter, and the nerf they did to dumping the puck however I love the new LT animation when skating with the puck and it’s a lot harder to get stuck on your ai teammates as that was a real pain in the ass last year.

Is the LT animation different from last year ? I might be missing something... I LT’d all the time last year and it was way more reactive . This year feels like input delay, especially LT’ing left and rights compared to ‘24 . I feel like I’ve aged 20 years in 2 months with how much I’m getting destroyed and trying to learn earlier timings .

The one timer lane right up on the goalie they make it to easy to pass through tight traffic without the puck getting deflected.and there’s also this play where you come from behind the net and wrap around wide and shoot up top on opposite side from where your wrapping and the shooter goes top shelf and makes it everytime I swear it’s a glitch

Ice tilt mechanics suck, new controls suck, player builds are unhinged and cheesy, matchmaking took out best game location options, and best of all throttling skilled players and tilting games against higher ranks to even games. Ive been playing since early access. N i was playing 24 for weeks prior off of gamepass. This is the 1st one ive actually bought in 10 years. Its 100% different from 24. I was playing it everyday n jumped right to 25 early access as soon as it released. The skating is more fluid, the one timers are way better. The Goalies are better in close range. The IQ of the players and where they move on the ice is SO much better. Non puck handling players dont collide with one another all the time. The cpu D on All-Star and up is lit. Ur ability to set up offense and lace moves together is vastly different n way better. The players also seem scaled down a tiny bit for more ice space. Im 39 and have basically played almost every one. Many from gamepass ultimate in recent years. This is a huge step in the correct dirction and is drastically different. Franchise mode is way better too. This is no roster update

3 best ways I have found to score on all-star to superstar difficulty. 1- The skill based one-timers are legit, no BS 2- In the slot (between the opponents face-off circles), quickly manual deke, backhand to forehand wrister or snap high opposite side, or go forehand to backhand back to FH wrister away. (Very sick) 3- coming in on an angle from the same side as ur hand (cause this move to backhand is best, but u can do both) right in front of the goalie stride deke ( holding LB & flicking LS down while gliding)..You will switch to BH right in front of the goalie and smoke um...This also works going straight at goalie but you gotta do it super quickly n works best on an angle. Remember friends....make sure ur gliding while attempting dekes, especially toe drags and stride dekes. Manual dekes you can do both..anything else, glide.

I love this version of the game. I play exclusively off-line [I make my own leagues & do my own thing....the only time I connect my ps5 to wifi is to run updates]. Once you get used to the difference in the "feel" of the '25 version [there is definitely a transition to get used to how the players move/play], you really start noticing the improvements imo. The CPU makes way better decisions than previous versions. The CPU goalies are more natural. I love it, but I realize that I am not the typical NHL 25 user.

I was casually watching this on my tv but had to hop on my phone when I heard you mention, “man I wish they got rid of the X factors, I hate them so much.” I could not disagree more with that statement and I sort of think it’s not just opinion incorrect, but factually incorrect. they are a great addition to the game since they’ve been in and make the players actually play different and feel apart from one another with different skills. In complete honesty for me, i think the X Factors are actually among S tier changes EA has made to this franchise through the years, and that’s coming from a guy who’s first nhl was nhl 03 with Jarome Iginla on the cover. Would be a complete regression for the series if they got rid of them and I’d probs stop buying and just play old editions of the game if they did at this point. X-Factors didn't ruin the game, they just haven't added anything to it. What ruined the NHL franchise, like Madden, is the lack of innovation and the outright refusal to use anything but the Frostbite engine, which is used for first-person shooters.

I bought the game then deleted it. Every player on world of Chel, There was a glitch and it maxed out every Chel player. As for HUT, You can have 5 million of coins and it wouldn't matter. EA has completely ruined NHL. I am not buying this game anymore for years until a new company comes out like 2k. EA is just terrible. The only game mode out there that's sensible is , Offline or online regular mode otherwise it's dog poop. They have completely removed weekly rewards in HUT. You do realize that NHL 23 and 24 were way too fast for gameplay speed it took away from actually hockey plays and IQ, whereas you just needed to skate around players. You just need to adjust and get used to a more normal game speed (realistic vs arcade).

I see progress. I hated NHL 24. It's by far my least played one from the franchise and I've bought every single one since NHL 98. Mind you it was PS4 but for whatever reason I just gave up. I didn't even bother with franchise. So, my "new" game for this year is NHL 24 franchise. I'm poor btw.

If you're wondering why he got 3 of the same goals in a row, it's because you're AWFUL at checking at your own blue line. You miss almost every time. That gives your opponent an odd man rush.

@@nathanielsanti752 the pass that went right across the D man both times was less than a foot from the D stick. The D doesn’t turn, poke or move an inch to intercept or deflect pass. With a player with a high defensive awareness.
