Dimework is 100% correct, one of the biggest problems has been Trash ppl blaming the game for them being trash. It’s why 2k implements so many crutches and continues to take away what actually makes the game skillful. I absolutely suck at Madden, it’s just not my game. Nah too many factors that make shooting annoying. The shot timing is not RNG the catch animations and setting of the feet is RNG. Dimework is on his knees for 2k. Tutes already showed this to be true when you catch the ball there’s several dif catches that delay the shot timing and throw anyone off also latency varies from game to game so you can shoot 5/5 one game and the next game miss most of your shots. Brut you refuse to acknowledge how shit 2k servers are. The patching and adjusting makes things worse. There are many things that are broken interior defense, close shot, LT cheese in 2s and 3s, missing open layups by shooting it into the hoop from under the rim, the baseline out of bounds I can keep going all day. The passing is dog shit 99 pass acc and still throwing the ball out of bounds, sending your teammates stumbling even with a 99 pass acc this game is not good by any stretch of the imagination. It’s the same group of guys making this game and it’s trending in the wrong direction they need to clean house and bring in better ppl who are able to use this technology to the best of their ability. This game is slow clunky unresponsive and too many RNG animations.

Honestly as a big man I feel Like we got just totally screwed this year. With that said I’ve been playing big on and off since 2k16. But this year quite honestly is the worst. We’re slow, we get no contest even being 7’0. Dunk Meter rarely works unless you’re wide open but at that point just use the button. Chasedowns are non existent pretty much for bigs. We get spammed off the rebounds. Even with high pass accuracy who knows if you will get it to the intended target without them fumbling and bumbling or stolen with a Deon sanders interception. We get the worst jumpers in the game and if you want to be able to shoot consistently then go ahead and get ready to be horsed cause you’re going to need trex arms or a slow jumper to increase the Cvnt hair size green window. Hands up defense either doesn’t work or doesn’t activate half the time. You get a block just for the offense to get it back or you get a contest just to not be able to get the board cause your waiting for your animation to finish. Fix the bigs and in my opinion the game will be more balanced.

Passing should get there a lot faster for higher passing players Why, when you're running down the court, your player starts jogging With steals, why can you press square and 2k speed you to get a steal. one thing I can say about passing, use different pass types! If you just regular Icon or press A you get a regular azz staright line pass. I suggest changing pass type controls. Lead passes over the top no one ever uses. Icon bounce passing, etc.... You wont be immine to turnovers but, it helps

I agree with that guys statement. When the game first drops the things that need to be patched are clear broken mechanics, things that are not supposed to be in the game but are because of oversight. If 2k makes the game with the intent that shooting should be more difficult than I don’t believe they should patch or buff shooting in order to accommodate the complainers. Patches should be for things like when you were able to glitch from one side of the court to the other in order to get an interception, it was clear that 2k never intended for the defender to react like Flash from Marvel and that needed to be patched. That is an example of an actual broken mechanic in the game that needed to be fixed. People struggling to shoot when the game first drops that’s not a broken mechanic that’s how they made the game and intended for it to be that way. If your complaining and asking for that to be patched I got news for you, THE GAME IS NOT BROKEN YOU ARE NOT GOOD AT THE GAME

I totally agree, passes are wierd in this game and it makes your player move sometimes, like i find a open spot and ask for a pass....but somehow they make me run towards certain direction to get the ball, and sometimes towards the defender so they can get easy interception. Like we are supposedly professional basketball players in the game and cant pass the ball right. FYI- if you dont care about playmaking badges, 25 pass accuracy is good enough. My MP with 25 pass acc throw better passes than 70 pass acc.(even full court passes).

I think the issue with the shooting is the 7 different timings I’ve struggled to shoot all year on a variety of 3pt ratings on different builds but one thing I’ve noticed over and over again is that if I green one jumper the next one I’ll time it the EXACT SAME WAY and it’ll be a miss I have my shot on push on high risk and the shit don’t work in park/rec I have very little issue shooting in myteam so I don’t really understand why I can’t in rec

My problem with game is this. I almost have to throw everything out u know about good basketball and do the opposite. Good shots are missed but u watch bad shots go in. U watch the correct read and pass turn into a turnover. U beat ur man and airball an open lay at right side of rim while big is on left side with back turned. U can watch someone rhythm shoot in ur face but u missing completely open button shots with ur jumper sped way up or slowed way down. There is no consistency… only chaos. I can dunk on 5 people and come back down and brick an open uncontested dunk next play. This is what people talk about and mean with the rng. It’s based off momentum, two way etc etc… ever played and felt like u couldn’t make the simplest pass without a turnover? While also u can’t hit a shot? Against a team u was beating by 20 a sec ago… and then u win by just 2? They went through shooting and made it so “perfect” but turn finishing into a button smash. U don’t control ur player on finishing. U punish players for not rhythm shooting and just playing classic with x for shot. I will admit I have started to incorporate the rhythm shooting but it was out of fustrating attempts at getting better shooting. This is why the game not fun and feel like a chore and not a hobby. U separate comp and casuals… what does comp do? Play the causal modes with the bs lineups that some geek decided is the perfect lineup. We do it to ourselves… I don’t want to be comp I just want to have fun that’s it. I wanna see highlight plays good shots nice passing etc etc… this is why the random rec so bad… the game promotes reaching and high o board… nothing else apparently matters. So u got chunky 93 strength guards with centers that just got offensive rebound. Rebound is rebound… and it should cost as so. So much they messed up on in builder and gameplay. Just make it simple… please. Cut down on badges, and the 9k catch animations we get with each update. These are nba players… catching ball is mandatory! Why is it bouncing off my head on rebound? Why can’t we grab off ground without an interaction from another player? I play but I play knowing… I’m just playing because I love basketball… just not this basketball… cuz it’s not.

You don’t understand what part of the game RNG. Watch tutes video the timing is the same it’s the setting of the feet that changes timing. Turning to the basket or putting your feet together is the RNG animations they are not uniform. Once the shot starts the timing is the same it’s getting into the shot where it’s not uniform

In all honesty, I prefer the shooting from 2K23. It had variable shot timing based on where you were shooting from and the type of shots you were taking. I personally believe they removed the dunk and layup from 2K24 because there’s no actual consistent green window. They try to make too many changes to shooting in a game that has poor input delay and bad servers. All in all the current issue with shooting it’s just that when you’re playing against better opponents, there’s a very small margin of error and every missed shot can essentially cost you the game

There is no RNG there is different latency in games and that’s why people shots be off, and also why whites on normal risk seems to be more consistent because they don’t suffer the same effect as high risk shooters. I think it's more how high your 3pt attribute is that sets the ceiling. No proof other than feeling that 85 3pt and make %'s will be higher for guards than bigs (2klabs seem to show it in terms of custom jumpers). & then most importantly shot choice. If you're only corner & wide open shooting 80% fantastic, fading on the logo with 3 locks on you 5% at best

Here's why I don't agree number one the game cost too much. They put out a non-finished product. People getting error codes like crazy and then getting banned for it. And then when I go look for the animations that I'm good at timing that I know they lock them behind a wall. So you want to charge me all this money and force me to have to pick up jump shots that I don't want to use because the ones I want are locked behind a wall. Or better yet the shot I used don't even exist in the game anymore. So don't complain to me about shooting when they take my mechanic away that I enjoy to shoot with.

The problem with discussing topics like this is that there is too many fan clubs in the 2k community. And along with the fan clubs they share borrowed perspectives. They no longer have their own ideas and experiences of the game, they are now just regurgitating what the talking heads experience. Which i unfortunate. Also, there is too much nostalgia in the 2k community and not enough logical recollection. Ppl will always remember the best times they had in the previous games and suppress the worst ones. Every 2k that ever came out was at one point "the worst 2k that was ever created." Ppl forget there early game experience and only remember the highlights of the fully patched game nearing the end of it's yearly installment. 2k is not innocent in this discussion either. If we are talking accountability from players that make terrible decisions, 2k is the worst for that. They will never take responsibility for bad executive and creative decisions. And Ronny 2k is the biggest culprit of that, which is the reason why he is the most hater talking head for 2k. This is also probably why he still works for the company, corporations love the blinding loyalists. But as a community we are the same. After a terrible play or possession, nobody wants to take responsibility. The easiest thing to do, as well as the trendiest thing to do, is to blame the game or the 2k devs. Even if it is blatantly user error. There really is no winning side. The solution show be simple, if your not having fun with the game, don't play it. No need to get mad at someone else who enjoys it and tell them why the shouldn't We need to stop forcing our perspective unto others.

If there is rng in 26 it's an easy skip from me. 25 felt like the worst 2k I've ever played because of the rng for everything system. For boards, blocks, steals, greens, it's all just a chance. 👎

I was shooting good 50% at season 1 of 25 with a 76 3pt but since then I’ve had issues with it since season 1 so I had to make new builds with at least 80 3pt I’ve always shot good with a low 3pt but shooting is not skill based imo one game you can go 5/5 next game or the 3rd game you’re going to shoot poorly

I think the rng is in defense. There has to be some rng in the game with all the different shot profiles like normal and low risk

I agree with most of what dime works said but I also think that 2K needs to tone down the algorithm a little bit. Is there a whole games where my whole team can't shoot. Their games where we were lights out for the first three quarters and come the fourth quarter nobody can hit a shot. I don't mind missing a shot every once in awhile it's when the algorithm takes control of the whole game in nobody can hit a shot.

It do be 2K RNG tho. I can time the jumpshot the same exact way everytime and ill get different outcomes everytime. It shouldnt be like that. Ik my jumpshot and release que so why do i get slightly early or slightly late but then next shot is green with the same timing. Its not hard to shoot but damn if i know my shot, jawn should be dropping everytime

I can shoot in proving grounds and city but can’t shoot in Rec it’s crazy. I used to shoot in the mid 70% in rec from the 3 now I shoot 48%
