I put together a Russian deck that doesn't make use of the T-14 Armata but instead focuses on the use of multiple cheaper tanks. In this case the cheaper T-80 Shtora. Watch as I put them to good use in brute force attacks!

First thing I said when I got my hands on this was "wow this gives me such great nostalgia of World in Conflict". It's in good hands from what we've seen. Been enjoying the Beta so much!

What you actually did was applying a part of soviet battle doctrine called mass and tempo. Mass as in the numerical quantity of units and Tempo the pace of the operation. The engagement where 5 T-80U managed to destroy 2 Abrahms is a good example of mass and tempo. 1 T-80U won't stand a chance against an abrhams but 2 or 3 then the Abrams will be annihilated and with sufficient mass as in 5 T-80U. You could destroy an enemy force without casualties. The mass would be the number of T-80U's whilst Tempo being the fact they attack all at once. Soviet docrine relies on overwhelming the enemy with mass armoured assaults on a specific point at once as in they attack together instead of separately, that ussualy began after an artillery bombardment. For further improvements of your gameplay. Fisrt advice is to set up proper supply lines, not only could you repair damaged units and refill ammunition. This effectively allows a russian formation to assault a position, take considerable damage, destroy targets, retreat & heal then repeat. Second preemptive artillery barrages would help, if targets are not known then begin bombardment of expected enemy positions, if not destroy then it will allow you to defeat the enemy in detail. It also helps in defensive operations, if an enemy is going to capture an objective, calling a bombardment of the area before counterattacking with mass formations of armor will tilt the engagement in your favor. Third, expand recon elements. Knowledge of enemy positions will be useful in preparation of an assault or a defensive engagement. Either place hidden VDV squads or do daring recon with drones or typhoons before being followed by artillery bombardment, patriots and palladins are priority targets as destruction of the former allows greater air superiority whilst the latter removes risk of counter battery fire. Overall gameplay wise there is considerable improvements. The fact that you didn't lose planes in the first minute is nice unlike the time when a Tu-160 is dead before it dropped all of its payload.

Because one of the few available T14s broke down during a parade. It's a paper tiger without teeth. It also relies heavily on western parts, which are not too easy to find in Russia atm lol. The t 80s etc how ever are quite good for their age, still follow "numbers instead of quality"

There is no reliable information that says the T-14 relies on Western-made equipment, and no, the T-14 during the 2015 parade did not “break down.” The driver accidentally engaged the handbrake, which explains why it could not be towed off. The video also further shows it driving off on its own, indicating, it never broke down. Nice try at spreading false, outdated information. This piece of false information has been disproven for a number of years, so how are you still falling for it?

I was lime green in this match and it was refreshing to see that many people open with asf! I played a very heavy helo/flanking strat in this match as you will see later on the right flank i think it was Edit: Thanks for the compliment about that right flank. Helos are very strong if micromanaged right!

i need alot more playtime with military games like this. I still not found out how to play this game right like which units counter other units and how the artillery works proper and my air units die on spawn all the time, also my units have only 2 shots and need supplies. But its damn cool, hope they bring lots of content and maybe more easier stuff for beginners.

Also because you are using the Mi35...my favorite combo of units to bring in one is snipers and the vdv metis. It gives a bit more value from buying the helo and the combo of spotting with a medium atgm and 2 hmgs with laser des is hard to beat.

I wonder how the T-80UM-2 Drozd version stacks up against the UA Shtora. Arguably APS is better than ECM but with the Shtora's improved gun and ammo I can't tell which is more worthwhile.

im obviously late for the beta and all but im 100% convinced any vic with 2 charges of smoke is op. it makes you so insanely survivable even more so than aps or add on armor. this is kind of a bad example game since you guys practically walked over the other team but you can cheese so many atgms per resupply. didnt realize there was anything other than top tier tanks with 2, ill have to play around with these next playtime >:)

I used to play wargame quite abit, but got kind of tired of its AI doing wacky stuff I never told them to do. not to mention how.. uhh.. wretched? vile? disgusting? the ingame chat and the moderators seem to be. I'm one of the people who got banned for a thousand years for absolutely no reason. Broken Arrow and Warno seem to be right up my ally to get me back into it, especially after watching your videos on Broken Arrow, really liking what I'm seeing.

The Shtora-1 is a rather outdated system and only disrupts older, outdated ATGM equipment, such as the TOW-1, so I would highly recommend the Drozd APS.

Very nice gameplay! Also, i beg of you, what did you have and how did you use (control-wise) on the SU-34? The stat card didn't show you have the bomb, but you def had one. Also, you didnt use the bomb drop and draw a line, but some other command... Pls help Q___Q P.S. used TU-160 with cruises, and i have no idea how to aim it. The plane lives its own life and shoots one missile once a month, and theyre poor aim

Use P for guided missiles like the KAB 1500 I was using and the Cruise Missiles on a TU-160. You will need to press P as many times as you want ordinance to launch, then left click the same amount of time your targets. The SU-34 has KAB 1500, 2 x SEAD, 2 x AA R-77, ECM

This game has so much potential, really reminds me quite a lot of World in Conflict, but currently the performance issues (which should be solved come launch) and relatively clunky nature of the UI/Camera are holding it back. World in Conflict was an excellent game but it's UI wasn't really up to modern standards, fine for the time but not ideal and this is a little more of the same, it's like a blend between Wargame and World in Conflict, but it doesn't really gain any of the benefits of either, it's stuck in this weird middle ground. All of this can be solved come release, even just a few camera tweaks and UI scale tweaks would go a long way to improving usability, hopefully they take a closer look at it as this game is extremely fun to play.

@@hyperthulean8649 SACLOS just means a semi automatic commanded missile that requires line of sight, so controlled by a person until it hits. TOW is a wire guided, not IR guided or laser beam riding missile, so SHTORA cant affect it since it works by making the infrared signature of the tank really big. Wire guided missiles are classed as a type of SACLOS, but some laser guided missiles are likely classes as SACLOS too

Would a Russian speaker please tell me if the Russian voicelines kind of seem like the one talking is "trying to sound cool" in the same way as some of the US English voices do, or do they seem like a regular person talking relatively normally. I think the sound design overall is great, as are most of the voicelines, but some to me seem a little too much like they came from a Hollywood movie.
