I was there, KZbin, in 1991 when this song was released. I was there to witness the global phenomenon. Everywhere I looked; everywhere I went, this song was there. On the TV, on the radio; local stations, international stations; weddings, funerals - EVERYWHERE! And each and every time I heard it, and to this very day, and I'm absolutely positive until I die, I absolutely MUST listen to it in its six plus minute entirety. I know there must be other songs that have achieved this, but this is the first and only one I've experienced uniting the world the way it did, and still does to this day (at least through my eyes). Needless to say, it should come as no surprise that this song is at the absolute top of the soundtrack of my life. Just thought that I should share that with the world...

And when me and my girlfriend went to Adams concert in Moscow in 1997. I keep the ticket from those concert by present day. Very miss for there times. I remember being in elementary when the Robin Hood with Kevin Costner came out. I bought the album just for this song...I think it was the only one I really listened to. This is the music I remember listening to when life was simple and good and the little we had was enough. When my life was with God... Before the Sinning -Guilt- Shame- Before all this heavyweight... I know this song can relate to a man confessing his love the woman he loves... But to me now it sounds like a song GOD would sing to his one of his children who is lost... This song represents my granddad, Alan Charles Goodridge, about 8 or 9 years ago he was taken away from the world due to a deadly disease named Cancer. And there's so much I wanna say to him, I have a boyfriend now of 6 months and if my granddad was here today I think he would of loved to meet him. Yes I was going through a lot when I said "don't go, I need you" no one knew why I said that until I had a mental breakdown. I miss you granddad, everyday, every minute, hour and second I miss you. I'm turning 22 in 6 days and to be honest my birthdays still are not the same without you there to make everyone laugh and be happy. I remember the Christmas dinner you sat at the table at my house and made a joke. I remember the first time I met you and I hid behind my mum and you helped me get to know you by playfully poking your head round the side making funny faces and getting me to laugh. I was 4 when that happened and it still stuck with me as one of the best moments. Though we have good memories that I will cherish forever and always, I will miss you forever and I want to let you know (even though you'll never read this) I love you granddad and miss you very much.
