Jeff, I don't know about you, but I felt the Cowboys had two major issues last year. First, their defense wasn't physical enough. Second, they lacked the discipline needed to be major contenders. These problems were particularly evident against strong teams like the 49ers and the Bills, as well as during their playoff game. Great show guys. The Cowboys remind me of Rocky in Rocky III. After beating Apollo in Rocky II, Rocky and his training envrionment became a circus, just like the the Cowboys are at the Star. Jerry/Stephen prioritizing keeping the Cowboys "America's Team" and, as Fisher says, a Marketing company that sometimes plays football, is the real problem with the team. For those that want to see Dak go, you have no idea the QB purgatory we'll most likely be in for years and even if we find a great one, he won't be able to do any better than Dak did playing for the Jones's.

Sir, you have a roster that each year is among the highest in the league with selected Pro bowlers and All-Pros, they have a talented roster so let's not act as if Dak was the whole entire team. The purgatory thing is way overblown. They gave away 2 first rd picks for a WR for Aikman who ended up retiring. That could've been Drew Brees. Think that might have made a difference?? And Dak has done nothing but defeat teams he is supposed to defeat and lose to teams he isn't expected to win. With a talented roster most QBs can do that. Dak doesn't elevate.

Bryan to move away from Dak Prescott at the height of his career right now is absolutely insane. We can't make it seem like you can just put any quarterback into a system and strike gold. That is absolutely false. And the fans are left in misery because of the bone headed decision making of the Dallas Cowboys yet again. I don't think it is in theory I think it is an actual reality that the Dallas Cowboys cannot get out of their own way. If they only learn from their mistakes they can make contract decisions that makes sense early versus waiting during the contract year when everything is going crazy and outrageous and the numbers are skyrocketing because of their late contractual decision-making for players. Maybe if we fix that Jerry Jones we can be ahead of the game versus behind the eight ball.

Completely and utterly irresponsible to speculate that this is a setup without actual evidence. Always been a big fan of both Jeff and Brian but this was despicable. Once Prescott and the Cowboys could not strike a deal the cap implications of Prescott's current contract and the dead money that is about to accelerate became real and the Cowboys made the only responsible choice. Yes it sucks being cat paralyzed for a season or two but that is what happens when you've been good for several seasons in a row and have a quarterback on a full market value contract going into his third contract. Had Dallas converted Prescott's current salary into cap space in the normal fashion and then found a way to re-sign him next year his carpet would have been something in the neighborhood of 85 million into a salary cap of roughly 280 million. This would be a best-case scenario with the use of maximum proration and void years. These numbers are exactly why the Cowboys did not add another 20 million dollars in dead money to Dak Prescott because that money is almost certainly likely all going to accelerate on next year's cap. jeff, you and Brian are better than these cheap narratives let's roll up our sleeves and do deep dives into cap implications of this move or that move an educate all the Madden GMS on how this really works.

If the running game is bad, I expect more short passes. Schoonmaker, Cooks, Brooks, Tolbert, and Turpin, may all catch more than last year. The RB targets will likely be about the same as last year.
