I personally found minoxidil 5% (aka botafex is the brand i used drugstore brand) to be extremely effective but it was combined with another leave on spray product meant for my hair shedding (from a young age i suffered from anxiety and severe stress and swirled and picked my hair and it caused some issues for me but i gathered some courage and dealt with it ). The product was vencil hairtonic spray (Diaminopyrimidine oxide (Kopexil), Octapeptide 2 (Prohairin β4),Nicotinamide (Vitamin B3),Capsicum Frutescens oil,Hydrolyzed Hyaluronic acid (Sodium Hyaluronate) ) it sure doesn't have his ingredients but in my opinion they only contribute and played a small role in that case. Minoxidil in his case and mine played the grand role the other ingredients help i think with the minimization of minoxidils side effects. Also I'm not denying their assisting role I'm not a formulator for gods shake😅. They help with their own pace and have their own level of efficacy 😊❤. Thanks Doctor Andrea have a great day❤.

As a child I lost a toenail due to trauma and it grew back. I can't even remember what foot it was on. Initially it was just hanging off and swollen with blood under the skin and a grown woman frightened me so I would not allow my mom to take me to a physician so her best friend sterilized the needle, because my mom couldn't do it with nursing training, held me down stuck me with that needle to drain the stuff out of there and then the toenail came off. If anyone is curious, I met with so many doctors and eventually finally someone recommended a dermatologist who also specializes in nails, and he told me these things: 1. If the bone is broken/fractured it is sadly not guaranteed the nail will grow back in its natural shape. 2. It takes 6 months to grow back to its full size. 3. While waiting you have to keep the area monitored for infection, but also you have to keep it moisturized with an ointment. 4. You have to massage the nail area for 5 minutes multiple times a day so that the nail area (area behind the nail) doesn’t shrink. You go from bottom to the top, and also on the sides. Sadly, I had a fracture and things are too soon to tell but I think I won’t have my normal looking nail back. Also I wish the doctors told me to drain it, I was misguided by so many doctors when the trauma first happened and had to endure 2 days without anything because the doctor who saw me after the injury didn’t tell me to get X-rays and that it was normal for it to swell and be painful, I had fractured bone and thought I was being a baby for not being able to handle that pain!

As a woman with Andro Alpecia for 30 years since age 18 (just started on oral minoxidil, possibly will add finesteride), I often realise how many people are unaware of the treatments available for alopecia and all the different causes of hair loss. Many many people don't know that low levels of B12, Ferritin etc. certain medications, hormone problems etc can be causes of reversible alopecia (telogen effluvium ). I know you're not a derm specialising exclusively in alopecia like many others Dr Dray or a Trichologist, but thanks for giving people in your channel some info, that quite often, there are treatments that work. Im about to purchase a laser comb/helmet as well. Thank you for your skin advice, on which ingredients are worth buying. I have an interest already in all things Physiological because it was my degree (Biomed) and professional background ❤ I have a real pet hate for all the rubbish thrown at us alopecia ladies for a high price that claim to treat hair loss. Also, how many people believe biotin is the solution for hair lossm when its B12 thats the most important B Vitamin....and of cause the rosemary oil thing 🙄....from 🇬🇧

Maybe I think it might be beneficial to my skin but again I'm not deficient but am I not deficient because I'm taking it?

@@FernandoTorrera it's more effective than the lotions.! Lotions are all different formulas. When regaine started out, it was really greasy. Then when I got with Trichologists and Derms specialising in hair loss, they create their own minoxidil and finesteride lotions that just dry and no greasiness at all. You have to shop around. In America (if you're there) their are loads of different minoxidil lotions in different shops. They would not all be greasy. Oral minoxidil is better than topical

@@sable7114 I wouldnt take it, if I were you. Is there even a blood test for Biotin? Did you see the 'dermatologist' about hair loss? Obviously Biotin is good for hair skin nails etc. But it's not a big player in the hair loss world. It's B12 they look at at. Ferritin (stored iron) etc. It's a urban myth that the b vitamin Biotin plays a crucial role in hair loss. I've seen the best Drs and Trichologists I could possibly see now for Andro Alopecia for the last 30 years. Biotin has never and is never mentioned. I take a vit B complex supplement for general health, the values in it are not high though, because I try to eat well too. Then I take a separate quite high B12 supplement. Because, although my B12 is okay, it could be higher for hair. Sounds like if you're concerned, get your B12, Iron, Ferritin, Zinc and Selenium checked. Derms who specialise in dealing with hair loss (not a derm who just deals with skin ..note...thats important) will check your levels of these6

Actually that is not true about Minoxidil is not as effective on the sides. The truth is the studies were only done on the top in the trials. They just can't claim it works on the sides, but that doesn't mean it doesn't work.

Gee I hope my Razor cap works and I agree that there's more than one type of alopecia that one individual might have. Laser, I said laser. I don't think a razor helmet would be helping at all!😂😂 by the way, is there something wrong if you don't get the shedding when you begin using the laser helmet? I'm in the second month.
@Hemmyii9 ай бұрын
I think the shedding is with minoxidil not the light cap
@sable71149 ай бұрын
@@Hemmyii it is with the I restore cap as well which they reminded me of when I spoke with them on the phone. The idea is to release all of the hair that is about to shed so that new and stronger hairs can grow in and so that the growing phase can be extended. I just haven't experienced any shedding out of the ordinary, very little actually so I need to call, they text you as well, and ask if that does not apply to people who have already gone through their shed phase although that happens at different times on different parts of the scalp period it's just like the Retin-A, I never ever had any irritation whatsoever which makes me wonder, is it working but Dr Dre says it is

Underrated treatment for androgenic hair loss, simply swapping out that pesky testosterone for estradiol 😉 💖

Has that worked for you? Have you tried using estrogen topically? I have experimented with bi estro cream on my scalp but I need to do it more before I can really say whether it works.

I'm so confused... I had my head full of hair with high density and starting with first month of 2022 I've seen hundreds of hairs on my sink falling and by end of April lost over 50% of hair from my head and higher amount on top. This period I had some very disturbing symptoms like : burning, itching, tingling, stinging (top mostly and now are intense right/left and back of my head). 2021 December I had indeed worst stressful event from my life ever and somewhere end of march begin of April u used bleached and had some wounds on my head after so I presumed is because of this. Now 2024 and my hair is the same , look fine/slim compared with before. Some missing hair on my legs and eyebrows are thinner + seborrheic dermatitis (I didn't ever had this) Three Dermatologists give that verdict by visual inspection + AGA. 2022 - I negligence my food intake(replaced mostly with sweets) and physical activity (just working home).

Don't you hate when there's no blood work at the very least? To me it sounds like you have a lot of inflammation, possibly because of your diet and prior to that the stress might have caused telogen effluvium as Dr Dre says here you can have more than one type of alopecia. Keep looking for a good dermatologist who specializes in hair loss as I am. Only problem is time is of the essence.

As much as I would like to believe in all of these products, devices and potions, I just don’t. It’s negligible gain at best. I have never seen any amazing results from any product I have used-and I’ve used a lot. My wish for society is that we use our brains to work on ourselves by stopping with the superficiality and working on being a better person. I feel like the beauty industry just dumbs everyone down and keeps them in the queue of looking for that “cure all” product. It’s not out there.

He has a team of MD’s who advise him. But it’s dubious advice if you ask me. After all, doctors know drugs, surgery and sickness, they’re not specialists in supplements, nutrition, fitness or health. He would have been better off hiring specialists in those areas.

Is it safe for someone in their 20s to take oral androgen binding meds? I mean, will that growing adult develop female characteristics? (Im not being funny. I really would like to know.) I saw his hairline is a photo and it looked to me as if he had a hair transplant. He had a very “Barbie doll” look. Maybe the photo was fake.

lets not scare people for no reason, I think you're a bit out of it in this video. Very much contradictory information. On the one hand you say that topical finasteride has very very low systemic absorption and on the other hand that some people that used it had side effects from headaches to testicular pain. okay? what are the percentages? and why? since the systemic absorption is that low. If the side effecters are in the less than 1-5% range why even mention them? What I want to say is that if the topical finasteride at at such a tiny percentage gives even testicular pain, then who says it doesn't also possibly aggravate or promote cancer like the oral one is suggested to possibly do (aggregate prostate tumors etc). How any side effect is possible with tiny topical systemic absorption?
@DrDrayzday9 ай бұрын
Despite low absorption, side effects still occur, though to what extent they are attributable to the drug will require larger studies. Keep in mind that this is not frequently used nor with enough data to address your questions
@apostolossymeonidis45559 ай бұрын
@@DrDrayzday "though to what extent they are attributable to the drug will require larger studies" meaning possibly coincidental or placebo side effects. It might have not yet become widely used (it has gone viral 2-3 years ago in the hairloss forums so I am not sure about that) but studies show that it has tiny systemic absorption, so I can't really believe that I can even cause testicular pain, putting 2 drops of it on your head every Night.
