@@PeterYMao do you have a video about what counts as pressure in general, ie for other characters? What properties of moves are good for opening up, when to pressure, how to deal with keepout, how to string unnatural things together to keep pressure up, etc.? I wish every character had guides like yours. Most guides show a move, explain its multiple uses, than go on to the next one on the list. Your format takes more time to cover and more difficult to explain but it's more functional. It's goal-directed so it focuses the player's attention to their acute objectives, which is how players should be handling their games (rather than playing movelist recall). I don't plan to play Bryan but I appreciate well thought out presentations, kudos!
@PeterYMao5 жыл бұрын
Tuldoka Dabawit wow! Thank you so much for acknowledging the difficulty in how to explain functionality. I spend literally days thinking how and writing out how to best explain “how to approach” playing a character. I think each guide takes me about 8 hours of writing and another 8 recording, editing, capturing. Thanks so much for the nice words.

@@PeterYMao Im learning to play on arcade stick, so I picked Bryan, cause he has everything for mastering the stick play: proper backdash, qcf, qcb motions, cancels, sidesteps, justframe moves. And Bryan is also perfect for learn attacks proper timings, mind games and mixups, not only for good spacing. My problems now is to do qcf/qcb inputs very fast and precise, and step blocking technique. I was pad player for 11 years from T6BR, (Bob, Miguel, Lars, Jack mainer), but I always be fan of nice movement, so I decide to move on stick to have perfect flow against nice spacing and to do things very quick. Bryan and stick combination is SICK! Love this character from T3 era , when I have played him just spamming match braker and debugger 😁 Now its time to master him! P.S. I have won 4 place on Weplay qualification with Bryan, and take my place on future Grand finals. Thanks!)

Shinxy, you are very welcome man. I wanted to do this series and have a playlist for all the Bryan players out there because I felt like all the guides you see... all they do is here is the move, here is how you use the move, here is your punisher use this punish. But then the question is... okay we're at +4 frames... what can we do? Okay? We're at +3 frames what should we do etc.. etc..
@Games4Days9125 жыл бұрын
See the thing with Bryan is at high level play it becomes difficult to open your opponent up without CH. His frame traps are also minimal at high level because there is so few high level players usually know them all. Theres db3 into northern cross for a CH launcher. Theres b1 into f3 for a CH launcher. B,df4 cancel into orbital. Theres dropping the combo purposely with a fient and resetting with snake edge. B1 into orbital bc alot of opponents will down jab after blocking Bryan's b1. Weather you guys want to admit it or not esp at high level Bryan is a super straightforward honest character to play and its difficult. Before anyone says anything about taunt it's very situational. At the wall it's great but at high level your opponent will stop teching into it. Or they will wait and get up. Yes they might eat a d4 or a qcb4, but again its situational depending on the knowledge on who you're fighting. Dont get me wrong alot of people dont know what to do and my taunts esp at the wall are like jabs. Set up after set up. Still love playing only Bryan BUT SOME DAYS ARE TOUGH ILL TELL YOU THAT!
@PeterYMao5 жыл бұрын
For sure Games4Days. I completely agree with you. That's why I prefer to actually play Bryan without gimmicks. Gimmicks don't work after a certain level, and even less so if you go to tournaments where seasoned plays have seen it all. Bryan's strength is in his CH launchers and how he can set them up, and "trick" his opponent into thinking it's safe to press a button.
@Games4Days9125 жыл бұрын
@@PeterYMao yeah I agree. Mind games come into play at high level like crazy. One set up I've been using for HUGE DAMAGE is db3 into fisherman's slam. Db3 recovers in full crouch so all you have to do is hit 2 after the db3 and confirm. Followed by almost 90 damage. And dude what rank are you online? And what do you play on? I play xbox one x. f1+2 is useless. It's slow, linear and most importantly high. So to get that blocked you have to make sure the opponent is not trying to attack, not trying to step and most importantly not trying to duck. If they are not attacking, stepping or ducking just use qcb3 since it deals dmg to people who stand and even if they crouch you don't die.

@PeterYMao2 жыл бұрын
Hatchet is a great low, but there are lots of ways to play around it. Most of the options that Bryan has after hatchet can be beaten with sidestep right block. This is when Bryan will have to resort to using homing attacks and if he does then that's when you can start countering hitting him out of his own plus frames.

Unless you are like Jack db1, Law db3, Ling db4, Ganryu df3 etc. Also why don't you talk about d2 bring his df1 like poke? i14, -2 on block, better range than df2.
