May I suggest getting a gaf it super useful when the fish is trying to get up the hole. I use one it doesn’t hurt the fish but it’s an awesome tool

Hey what up! Dude that bullhead was crazy big. I looked, Master Angler says 14". Easily gave run for the money. Probably not far off from the State record of 3lbs. Most bullheads I have seen are like tadpoles. Thanks man. Take care!

I fished Bullheads for years out of an old farmer's pond in Wisconsin and I don't ever remember getting stung, but I sure have gotten barbed by some catfish. Nice video great underwater clarity as usual.

Yes. Those bullheads will stab you, and it hurts like hell. Haven't caught one in over 20 years, but I'll never forget that pain. LOL

I thought so! I have never caught one but my dad got stabbed in his finger by one and lost his nerves in that finger and that was like 40 years ago! I'm not messing around with them lol

Really depends on what your fishing for. I have been targeting pike and bass lately and I'm that 6-12 ft range. Panfish will come through too but may be suspended deeper.

I lip grip em like I do bass. They’ll bite down on you but no teeth to poke you. Or you can hold them one handed with your thumb under one pectoral spike and two fingers around the other. But yeah those spikes can get ya if you aren’t careful. Some of them are serrated like on the channels so they can do some damage. But these guys have some nasty slime so its best to wear gloves in case they poke ya you wouldn’t want an infection. I’d say wear gloves and lip grip em, thats what I do. Just they way we do it I guess. Can be closer to the hole. 7ft rod would be hard to jig in a shelter lol. It is funny though how we target pike in the summer, biggest rod and bait we got. Winter time, tiny pole, tiny jigs lol.

It’s my opinion that your lines are too close together. Any fish you gets has great odds of getting entangled in you other line.

@@BryanProkuski LMFAO...yah stick 20 plus sticks with ribbons tied to the...they scramble around like mice checking each one hoping to find illegal sets....not going to happen... Yup endless area/lakes to fish in Northern Saskatchewan it would seem.... A lot of the areas are only accessible in winter. If you are lucky, you might find a trail. We jug fish on the ice. COs don't like them because the have a hard time locating and seeing them. And of course there are rules... jug fishing, our hole is sometimes 200-300 ft away...but our jug or line is right beside us. Heck of a lot of fun when the ol jug starts skating across the ice...then hand line the fish....crazy... cheaper than a tip-up riggen

Cool video. I’ve been on a pike bendor and yesterday was out on the ice with 2 subscribers and we hooked a dang otter 4 times spooled the tip ups in seconds. Craziest thing ever I might post it but worry about people getting pissed😂. He was released and is hookless 💪🏻 you would think after the first 3 times he would smartened up

@@BryanProkuski Looks to be a brown bullhead, which I think is the biggest of the three, I checked to see the state records for all of them because it's close to the black and yellow records.
