Claire is 1000% Hammond's spiritual daughter - in the books Hammond was considered to be condesending, a little rude, impatient, and relentless. While he's given a rather ruthless death in the books, in the movies, we do get to see him evolve into a better man. In Jurassic World, I see Claire following this narrative in a shorter timespan and this time, in one narritve rather than two. She's totally Hammond's sucsessor.
