He played ok. The offense as a whole played mediocre. The play calling was pretty awful at times. There were a couple of bad penalties that killed what would have been decent plays. Bryce is clearly not the whole problem, but he's not at the level of quarterback that can elevate his team yet and serious doubts about if he could ever be more. He should have never played last year, that just set his development back and ruined any confidence he had. I will say, dramatic improvement over games 1 and 2 where he looked super jumpy, he was a lot more composed today. But that bar is pretty low. I wasn't expecting him to come in and play great, I was just hoping for improvement from weeks 1 and 2. At least after this game, against a good defense, there is something to build off of.

Today was a legit top 5 defense in the league and whipped our oline all day… to me Bryce showed slight development with rookie weapons not our veterans, especially from weeks 1-2. Nobody stresses enough about how terrible our defense is. Sure, they say it, but it isn't stressed enough. I miss our elite defenses. We needa hoard as many draft picks as possible and rebuild that defense yesterday. I am not saying that Bryce is one of the greatest, that said: Bryce was missing both weapons at receiver, hasn't played more than a few minutes in the previous 5 weeks. Our team has nearly 50% of our squad out with injuries. Not to mention the fact that we were up against according to sports media a more or less explosive defense. If he was as much of a bum as even I have always thought he is, I think the tiny dude deserves a bit of credit. Yes, the powers that be sold the farm and absolutely drafted the wrong guy; however this is where we are. Dave Canales doesn't trust him, you can honestly tell. Even though he claims he runs the same plays no matter who is under center, that is really not the case. One thing I didn't see from Bryce is that horrible little hop step he had been doing week one and two. I honestly think other than the fake punt whiff, it was refreshing to see Canales call some risky plays. The conservative approach was absolutely killing us. I honestly am sick of us chasing the quarterback unicorn that has proved so elusive. I would rather see us field another truly devastating defense. I say that as a fan who has stuck with the team through all the ups and downs. When we have been in the thick of making playoff appearances, and were contenders people were imposed by the defense. I want to see us get back to a defense first team. I remember Jake Delhomme, an NFL "nobody" would have taken down Brady (if not for John Kasay and the kick that destroyed our chance at winning) we only really got there due to a top 10 defense. Our only other Superbowl team, was ranked 6th overall in defense. I agree, I don't think that this is the year to try to get another QB in the draft. I think we should let Bryce continue under center, just to absolutely make sure that he cannot lead this team. I also would love it if all the fair weather fans would go ahead and jump ship. I am tired of fans bad-mouthing the team they claim to be fans of. If you only want to stand by the team when we are winning, you are not needed and should go be a bandwagon fan for another team. I am an NC native, but I lived in Kansas City during the time they had the worst team in baseball as well as the worst team in the NFL. The Panthers were still my team, and continue to be the team I root for the hardest. I do watch Chiefs games still, a tribute to my adoptive dad who passed a few years ago. Unfortunately, I have only ever seen the Panthers play at Arrowhead. I bring up the past of the Chiefs in order to bolster hope, hope that we can and will ascend once more from the depths that we have fallen. The Chiefs to this day, regardless of their current situation (multiple Superbowl champs) they are my second favorite team. I admit that their games are more fun to watch, and less perilous to the blood pressure. They still are not the team I tune into every single week. Carolina will rise from the ashes once more, when that will be I'd say is anyone's guess. I would also like to remind everyone that we thought Baker and Darnold sucked, and apparently gave up on them too soon. Please try to remember, not ever QB is going to come in and be like Cam was to start his career. I honestly think had we sat that man the first few weeks we'd have not only won a Superbowl by now, he also would have had a completely different career. Bryce is still trying to regain the confidence he lost by being thrown to the wolves last year with an absolutely atrocious o-line. I again am not defending Bryce, I was probably more pissed than anyone when we drafted him. I was pissed all season last year, and have remained one of his biggest critics up until this game. I am still nowhere close to a Bryce fan, but we should focus less on the offense next draft and much more on rebuilding the defense Rhule, and Fitterer decimated. I would love to be wrong in my initial opinion of Bryce, and would absolutely admit to being wrong if he proceeded to ball out the rest of the season. I am not saying by any means that will happen, but the team needs to make abundantly sure since we cannot salvage anything this season that he cannot be a decent QB with a defense like Carolina has always been known for. Furthermore, if I hear one more person say we need to trade Jaycee and Chuba I will literally lose what is left of my sanity.

Truthfully, I totally get and understand the Bryce frustration. But I did see something towards the end. First, I think it was a HORRIBLE decision by the rookie coach not to play these guys in the preseason. Secondly, Denver has an incredible defense. But, I saw where Bryce was getting the ball out much faster in garbage time. You know, the biggest issue with Bryce in my opinion (which was supposed to be his strength), was his processing time. I agree, I was absolutely pissed when the Teppers decided to take him when it was obvious the football people wanted Stroud or Richardson. I challenge any so-called fan to go out and take as many sacks as the o-line gave up last year and be able to do any better. Add that to the fact that Rhule and Fitterer decided to decimate the defense, it's no wonder we are where we are. People also fail to remember nearly 50% of our team is out due to injury. As a Broncos fan, that O-line is nasty. I've never seen the Broncos unit give so much time in the pocket to a QB. It's usually 2 seconds and they are to the QB. I feel like Bryce Young had 4-8 seconds per throw yesterday. If anything at least you got that great o-line to build off of. Draft a QB in the draft again, keep swinging, and I think that offense could be really good if you hit.

I don't know the play calling is not great, only allowing him to throw only when we are behind puts him at a disadvantage. Not impressed with the play calling, to cautious.
