Had this wallet for a while now and love it! I wasn’t a big fan of the money clip either but it conveniently slides out and I looped a thin elastic band through the clip hole to the inside and have a perfect money strap that’s invisible from the outside. Makes it a little slimmer too!

Great idea on the elastic band!

Had this for 4-5 years. It's beautiful. BUT, you can't treat it with a bifold lifestyle. I tend to stuff cards in the front, and it stretched out so it can't hold the cards properly anymore. If you receive wrinkly cash from someone else's trifold or moneyband, it'll bloat your wallet up. It was a pain to use the card pockets inside with bills flapping around. Sometimes I tore my bills making a rush payment (can't just pull it out of a big stack with one hand). Plastic ID holds up well. No ink smearing on it. This wallet is great for those with minimal cards (6 + ID) and is satisfied with only carrying a large bill and exchanging back to a large bill from time to time when you get too many ones and fives.

Does this wallet fit Euros and Pounds ? Are there any other options I can look at? I want something with a money clip and good quality leather.
@RaphialLee3 жыл бұрын
I had this wallet for 3 months now. I love it. I have no plans of switching it. I don't use the inside pocket for the fact it make the wallet thick. I use all 4 pockets on the outside. It stays thin that way. I have 8 cards in it. I love it. It patina nicely. Do you think it will last longer than 3 years if I don't use the ID slot on the inside? I asked because I notice while looking at long term reviews on youtube where people complain about it only lasting 4 years, But what I notice was they all broke down in the id slot. I'm also including serman brand money clip wallets as well.

Great wallet for the price. I used to make a similar one from .6mm Buttero leather but all leather doubles the thickness, doubles the weight and it sold between $280 and $400. $400 was Horween shell.
@walletopia4 жыл бұрын
Exactly. The design dictates several thing with wallets and weight of leather is a BIG part of that. Multi-layer designs MUST have a lighter weight of leather or it will be a thick monster, totally destroying the aesthetic, always trade offs.

Do you know of any wallets like these that have magnetic clips so the bifold stay closed until you want to open it? The only one I can think of is the Belroy Apex slim. And I don’t want that wallet.

Yes this wallet is exactly the same wallet as branded under kings loot and serman brands. There is one manufacturer and people slap a different logo on it.
@Gr33nPhoenix2 жыл бұрын
@@ScienceBitch123 The King's Loot wallet is not exactly the same as this. It only has quick access on one side of the exterior and features a pull tab. Also the wallet itself is designed a bit differently. To say it's exactly the same is to say you aren't paying attention.

I was drawn to this wallet solely for its form factor and usability. I wonder if the slim form factor is facilitated by the “missing leather” as a result of the RFID blocking material which is thinner by comparison. I ordered one and will revert after a month or two of use. Many thanks for your excellent videos!
@walletopia4 жыл бұрын
I've found in all wallets where they substitute liner material for leather, it does make it "thinner" and it's easier to manipulate as leather provides more resistance than thin nylon.

I really should trust my first judgement. It would save me a lot of money. Based off your videos, I bought the Mitchell Money Clip Wallet. I love that wallet but I do with it had one or two outside slots for cards. The Roik looked like it might be a better fit for me. I thought it might hold unfolded US currency but it does not. I was going to pass that along to a nephew but I think I might keep it because I'm going to do some traveling in Europe at some point and since the Roik can hold unfolded Euros, the Roik will be my Europe wallet. Next up, I tried the Bryker Hyde Minimalist. Like the Mitchell and the Roik, it's a beautiful wallet. It does get a bit thick though and doesn't easily hold as much cash as the Mitchell. I think I'm done looking. I should have stopped with the Mitchell. It's small enough for the front pocket and even with 8 cards it doesn't feel to thick. Anyway... great reviews.

Always a learning process! I've found my wallet tastes and feature usage change over the years, but for "specialty" wallet like for travel, I always go back to my original.

@@walletopia Are your go-to wallets a reviewer's secret?
@walletopia3 жыл бұрын
@@JimCaputoMusic Well, since I started the channel, I've been carrying different wallets every 1-2 months for carry reviews. But when it comes down to it, I prefer a slim, veg-tanned leather, card wallet. Something really easy. I've really been liking the MagSafe wallets as I carry an iPhone and the number of 3rd party wallets is impressive and growing. A video on that will be coming soon.

Lame. Your review of quality is based on what country it was made from? I saw how you scored items made in China. Why don’t you test quality based on wear vs where it was made. skewd.
@walletopia5 жыл бұрын
Actually if you watched other reviews you'd see I mention that China produced products CAN be built well, BUT it's all up to the owner of the brand, NOT the fact it's made in China. Many brands who produce in China are shooting for marginal quality for low cost. Sometimes that works, but often it doesn't, that's why the Price score works to offset it. I've manufactured in China for years, it's a choice of the brand owners on which market they're catering. Apple's products, for example, are all made in China and have excellent quality.
