I have the Mega C and it's fantastic. I never have any problem with what people called '90s look menu'. It has physical button for a freezing ride, and battery level is one of the longest out there. Routing isn't that bad, and komoot is coming in nicely. My only gripe is that it doesn't have the equivalent of ClimbPro in Garmin. Lezyne said they will implement it, but haven't put any timeline yet

Good video. Helped me make up my mind. I've been using the mega XL for over a year and it finally packed itself in. Think I'll be moving to the Bryton!

Great video, I just bought the 420 and I've only done a few rides with it, but very happy with my purchase. I waffled about the mapping, but for the price, I think the bread crumb is fine and it gives me all the fun data I want to see.

I have the iGPSport 618, one of the cheapest cycling GPS enabled cycling computers out there. Not even close to a high end computer, but it has tons of features and full colour.

Good video like always. I've only had a Wahoo but wouldn't buy a Garmin due to battery life and menu problems but my wahoo was fine for 1 year but now it's not reliable and I can loose my ride from crashes. I haven't rode much this year so its been hard testing the wahoo. But my next best option has always been the Bryton when my wahoo is passed its used by date.

Lezyne mapping use Komoot same as GPS Root and mostly better. Komoot is directly imported too

Try Komoot with the Lezyne mega XL....makes maps and integration a little better.

Oddly enough, I purchased the Mega XL based on your original long form review! The big selling point to me was the long long battery life and no real need for maps. After this comparison, I would probably still pick the Lezyne but the Bryton is a strong competitor. Thanks!!!

Nice! Good to hear you're still going strong with the lezyne. There's a lot of goodness in that unit 👌

Nice concise overview of the 2 units . I personally have no use for a cycling specific device because my Android smart Phone can do everything I need via apps installed on it . The minimalist in me denies the need for anything more . Each to their own though .

Had the Lezyne xl - has an awfull mount and the buttons are crap. Sold it after 2 months. Now I use the bryton 410 and I'm really happy with it. But I don't use navigation.
@raptorboy002 жыл бұрын
One more question for you more than a year later haha - When following routes, which device updates your location faster? I ended up getting the Bryton in part because of this video, and although I'm mostly happy with it, the breadcrumb map can be frustrating sometimes because the map only "moves" once every 10 seconds or so, which means I often miss turns. Is the Lezyne any faster?
@Toretto163 жыл бұрын
I like your review. Because of lack of the maps, I would choose the Lezyne too. But if You had to make a choice between Lezyne Mega XL and Garmin Edge 520 plus, what would have been your choice? Well the 520 plus also has the maps already integrated on the device but the battery last way less than on Lezyne, At the moment both devices are priced allmost the same. Your word my friend?
@MattScottMusic Жыл бұрын
Just started watching, and trying to work out why someone in the market for a budget unit would have loads of more expensive Garmin mounts already on their bike, and so need to know about how incompatible they are? Do cyclists need more than one navigation device computer whatnot, or is this just to be thorough?

I don't know if it wasn't out yet at the time of filming this, but it seems the Lezyne Super Pro is more comparable to the Bryton 420 in terms of price (Super Pro only $10 less than 420 from what I can find in the U.S.), navigation (breadcrumbs on both vs. maps on Mega XL), and battery life (28 hrs on Super Pro). But going from this review it seems the Bryton would be an even better buy compared to the Super Pro even at $10 more, since the Super Pro loses the maps, battery, and screen size advantages that the Mega XL has.
@ryanw89873 жыл бұрын
Actually, after finding more info on the Super Pro, a Lezyne rep on a forum I found explained that the Super Pro is basically the same software as the Mega XL, just a smaller form factor (less battery as well due to that). So you could apparently still put maps on it, which is pretty good for a $150 unit. Plus, since this video was recorded it seems Lezyne has made a lot of improvements to their app, especially with integration with things like Komoot. Lezyne also has a live track feature (like Garmin, where you can choose a contact to be able to track where you are on your ride) which is a big deal to my wife letting me try some more adventurous rides 😁. The hardest part is just finding info on these units since they're not as "mainstream" as Garmin or Wahoo. The Super Pro is newer so it's even harder to find info. I had been pretty much sold on the Rider 420 but now I'm leaning towards the Super Pro due to the maps and live track functionality.

2 questions: Can you actually download GPX routes onto these devices and then use them without your phone, or do you have to have have them connected to your phone to follow pre-made routes? Similarly, could I , say, record several rides over the course of a few days without phone connectivity and then upload them all to Strava at once? Thanks in advance!
@joshollar82423 жыл бұрын
I just got the 420 and the answer is yes to both. You have to download your route and then its on your unit and you start the route from there. And same for rides, they save on the unit and then upload to your phone after.

Hi there I know this a year later reaction. lol. I heard it has worldwide maps. I wonder if I could get the one where I live. (Curaçao/ Caribbean ). I have a Mio 305 HC. Doing good but the downside for me is that a lot of the feature are more orientated for Europe mapping and other options can't be uses in my region. And I can't sync my workout on my Strava. That' s why I always uses my phone to do that. It has heart rate, cadence and speed sensor. . Can I get all of these plus my maps on the Lezyne? Thanks in advance for your reaction
