It's so great to see someone actually thrashing one of these cars on track, they're so good at it but a lot of people seem to focus on the way they look rather than how they perform. And it was genuinely surprising to learn that you're on airlift. It seems like the aero on your car was really helping you against that FR-S, makes me wonder what it would do with coilovers lol. It also proves that air suspension doesn't ruin a car's performance on track if it's set up correctly. Great video man, your channel is fantastic.
@dadhats2 жыл бұрын
thank you dude couldn't agree more 👍 everyone is shocked when I tell them I'm on airlift it's great lol. def going to switch to coilovers (hopefully next year) to see how much I'm being held back tho. gonna be doing a bunch of mods slowly over the course of this winter and next year and filming every charge in performance along the way 👌

I rather like compliant suspension. Too stiff and it wants to slide too soon and it makes it harder to ride the kerbs.
@carlmanu Жыл бұрын
I didn't see it on the mod list but a carbon fiber driveshaft should be your next mod as it improves downshifting and upshifting substantially but also seems put slightly more torque down. Great driving!👍

My man was on rails nice 1.18, its suprising how that frs was able to keep up too, with no aero mods, those coilovers where doing all the work, plus he was braking more late than you sometimes.

@@dadhats well hopefully I can get some lap times worthy of the car lol. Will be at Toronto Motorsport Park which is definitely a track suited for cars like yours, not much room for me to use my power advantage. I'm hoping to get a camera setup like yours eventually as well, my dashcam and no info overlays doesnt cut it for me lol. And thanks dude, appreciate it. @@Nathan1LE tmp is great! I've watched a ton of old speed academy when they did their track tests there. even ran it on the sim bc of them haha. you should! it's actually relatively affordable and easy to setup. I might make a how to on getting the perfect track pov shot bc it took me a while to figure out
@Nathan1LE2 жыл бұрын
@@dadhats oh shit that's funny you actually know TMP, funny you have more experience driving TMP than me and I'm the one that lives here😂. I'd love to see how you did your setup, I'd very likely copy it for myself tbh! Track day was a success! Was so nice out on the weekend its hard to believe it's November lol. Took me a couple laps to learn the layout and almost lost it twice on my first real laps lol. I think the tires weren't warm enough yet and I also heavily misjudged turn 2 and touched the outside grass...oops. By my third session out I had the layout down pretty good and was apexing everything best I could, only issue I had was my Indy 500s are cooked (31k+ km on them and almost bald) and my brakes (while consistent) aren't strong enough to slow down 4000lbs at 100+mph. I did a 1:24.xx during the third session which was my fastest but I know I can go faster with new tires and better brakes. Anyways, enough about me, can I find you on Instagram somewhere? Maybe you can help point out some of my errors and give some pointers?!

Viper! Great content. I run Indy 500s for my street setup and Falken RT615K+ for my track setup. I'll probably try out a weekend next year with Indy 500s one day and Falkens the next to see what the differences are.

@TheBreakfastClb2 жыл бұрын
@@dadhats Try the 615 first, the RT660's are good hot lap tires and will give you the fastest time but grease up by the end of the session if you're pushing hard. 615 can handle the heat for HPDE and last a little longer. Feel like they'll be better suited for what you're doing
@dadhats2 жыл бұрын
@@TheBreakfastClb I'd rather get a more competitive tire tbh just so I can compare myself to others to see where I can improve. debating about trying some time trial/time attack stuff once I get my build in a competitive spot. thinking about the Bridgestone re71rs or rt660
@TheBreakfastClb2 жыл бұрын
@@dadhats Completely understand. You'll be happy with both. RT660's will be a HUGE upgrade from what you have now. If you're trying to improve the RT660's will be more forgiving in the sense of grip. You may learn more from having a less grippy tire. If that makes sense. Haven't been able to try the RE71rs yet but will eventually get my hands on a set

What camera are you using and how is it mounted to get POV footage? I want to add POV footage this year ,current solutions are to use a cambox v4 or just stuff a GoPro quick clip to my visor. Trying to get ideas from people that have good POV footage and I know Jackie Ding uses quick clip. Thought about sticking a mount above the visor and even on the visor.
