This year's Charity adventure is only a couple of months away as always raising money for Combat Stress which is a veterans mental health charity.
This year I will be riding 1000 Miles on something that is regarded by some as the most Dangerous bike ever made.
The BSA Ariel 3 , launched under the banner of "Here it is, Whatever it is" and it couldn't have been a better tag line.
I love my classic 2 Stroke mopeds so I'm even happier to be joined by Paul, owner of Bert's Motorcycles on the Isle of Wight.

Fitted with an electric engine I could see those being superb little commuter machines in the city. You have balls the size of the IOW to even contemplate riding 1000 miles on that, but I wish you the very best of luck.

I haven’t even finished my Series 3 Land Rover and now I’m looking at crappy old 50cc mopeds. The wife’s going to kill me! Looks ace fun - reminds me of my teenage years ragging about on scrap mopeds (possibly illegally).

See how you go with the foam air filter, if you can get better performance from easier air flow - try using tights (probably 2 layers at least) but carbs are a tricky business and you might actually need some draw-resistance to keep her ticking over right🤔🤔 . (It’s a lawnmower trick 😊👍).

Have you thought about a susspension seat post on the bike Nobby? Same sort as you fit to mountain bikes. Might save your arris during the trip.....just a thought. Love the 'bike??!!' She's a stunner!!😜

To think someone at BSA signed off on this, thinking it'd be the "next big thing" as the 70's dawned. I have a fascination with weird vehicles - having once owned a Trabant, it has an appeal of sorts! Now, why did the Honda Cub have such success and why aren't people riding around on the Mark 10 version of the Ariel 3, I wonder?! Sums up a lot about the British motor industry back then...
