Hi Brian, I'm new to owning a bsa , can you tell me where the bsa garter decal/ or water slide decal should go , is it high up on the front fork leg (lower) ? or on the head light bracket ? also my bsa is a 54 swingarm 500 b33 did these models ever have the seat decal marking . Cheers .

Is this a Home Office bike? Does the registration include SXF? I have one, and all of the Home Office B31s that I have seen have the registration SXF-something or other. Mine was first registered to Salop County Council Fire Brigade. I understand it was a part of the British nuclear defence programme.

Peter, this is a Home Office bike but the registration number has changed over the years so it does not match yours. According to the BSA records It was dispatched from BSA to the Home Office on 27/04/1956 together with a few other bikes. I’m not sure where it ended up. The DVLA refused to give me an aged related plate. Cheers Brian
