Brings back memories- My Uncle had one- same colour- he would ride in a long gabardine trench coat, gauntlets & a pudding basin helmet.

I rode one of these round and round the fields as a youngster, it just kept going. My dad ordered the scrapman to take it away, so I tried my best to break it before he arrived, but I couldn`t!

Seems a shame to use it as a field bike, looks pretty original.

G'day Paul, that's a great barn find and in almost original condition, l would like too come across a find like that, wonder if it will survive the Grandkids treatment, one of my mates bought a A10 BSA that had not been started for 30 years, after a service and clean a few good kicks and it started, it amazed me, cheers mate, Neil 🤠.

I had one of these as a field bike around 1976 ... Then I sold it to a guy who put it back on the road 🙂

This is the first D1 that i have seen apart from the colour Scheme (mine was red and black) to be exactly the same build as my old 62 D1 Bantam.

Nice little machine! At least in 1973 there was no ethanol in the fuel, just good old lead! Another BSA to see the light of day!👍

I have , for 40 years, been a Japanese m/c owner having 15 Hondas from a FT500 Ascot to a CBR1000RR. For my birthday in '22 I decided I wanted a new bike and made my way over to the local Royal Enfield dealer after a close friend told me about his 500 Bullet. I picked myself up a shiny new Classic 350 in Chrome/Bronze and haven't ridden a Honda since. I am really starting to appreciate these older bikes. Very few were seen here in the States in my lifetime except for the European motocross bikes and Ducatis as of late. It is a great pleasure to watch your channel and get to see what I have missed all these years. Cheers from SoCal!

That noise takes me back to the 60s when us kids had these as field bikes.

It may be a 150cc Debbie with that rear suspension like the first motorcycle insurance bought. Please let me know

That's pretty good if it's been off the road and possibly parked in a shed for the last 51 years. The longevity of the BSA rolls on 👍

Brings back memories - not that I had one (although my brother had a swinging arm D7 version - my first bike was a BSA C15). All that induction roar from your one ❤

A nice, original old Bantam. Got to have some value. Personally, if it was mine, I'd sell it on and get something a bit more modern (and of less value) for the grandchildren to knock about on.

To be used as a field bike by his grandchildren!!! Well that's the way to learn, slide and fall off a few times. Better to be used and loved than part of a unused collection.

The only thing I’d say about that bike, if I sat on it; it definitely isn’t an XXL!
