BSA CADET MAJOR 10&15 METRES FREE STANDING 23:01:2020

Been out with my BSA Cadet Major .177 Rifle to see how she shoots at 10 & 15 Metres, free standing. First part was 10 Metres using 8.4 grain Superfield pellets, Then changing to JSB Express 7.87 grain for the 15 metre shoot. This rifle is way more accurate than me, and with some more practice I would probably get a bit better. Still not too bad, with my breathing.👍

I have same BSA airgun which is own by my father who buy from England in 1952 or1953 Halton Royal air force training.

Got a bsa mercury , around 1974 , me old man bought it me , that also hangs on the wall . Put a new spring in it about 6 yrs ago ( titan ) makes it virtually un-shootable , the stock has cracked and flexes when firing ... Ive just left it hanging , I'll never sell it , although it cant be fired .... kicks like a mule

on 10-15 meters u are blind. my shoting from the same cadet major on 20meters 10mm bolt

I like the cadet major air rifle as you can tell by my user name, you just need to tap the rear sight to the left to ajust the windage to bring the shot over to the left and it will be spot on also you can tap the front sight to the right to bring the shots over to the left if you need a bit more, i see you have a fore stock screw missing so that dont help getting it to shoot spot on.

These are very nice little rifles that were often seen at fairgrounds and this is in itself testament to how well made they were. In all there was a total of 116, 000 Cadet Majors produced by BSA. They produce around 6ftlbs of energy. There were two transfer port versions one which was straight and one which was angled from the centre of the cylinder. The straight version had a wire gauze to prevent the ingress of dirt and dust. One problem with these little rifles concerns the mainspring. Some people have reported that their rifle shoots low after replacing the maninspring and the reason for this is usually the owner has put in an unsuitable mainspring which too strong and upon firing actually blows open the breach which plants their shots low. The secret is to use a weak spring with thinner wire. A cut down Meteor spring is not suitable. They need a very low rate spring to work best.
