Was asked to take a photo of the price!!! That’s terrible This doesn’t give me any confidence about the after sales service . RE on the other had is a well oiled business. CS was good. BSA is significantly lighter on its feet, has better brakes, much lighter clutch action, produces both its power and torque a lot earlier than the RE, Rishaad himself said that the interceptor feels a lot heavier than its weight suggests, but he still concluded that the interceptor is the better handler??? Every other auto magazine/channel finds otherwise. As for the vibrations, a LARGE single can only be made to rev smoothly to a limit, besides, the character of a big single in a retro bike is what the gold star is all about, and I believe classic legends have captured it very well. The RE engine has always been an absolute gem, but it's a bit of a mish-mash, neither properly retro nor modern, same goes for the bike's appearance. For the charm and retro appeal alone, the gold star wins my vote. That it is a better looker, outruns and outhandles the RE are just the cherries on top😊
@RishaadMody13 ай бұрын
Better handler for me because it has more cornering clearance before things start to scrape, but mostly because the BSA becomes quite bouncy when you up the corner speeds. Again, not that it matters that much on bikes like this 🤷♂️😃
@trickychap3 ай бұрын
@@RishaadMody1 exactly my point, Rishaad. These bikes were never meant to be cornering champs, they were built with a different purpose in mind. Having said that, I'll take the extra bit of agility that the BSA has to offer, simply because it will help you ride for longer hours, especially in traffic. Totally agree about the weird rear shocks, though. Hopefully, aftermarket solutions will pop up real soon if the bike begins to sell in good numbers. Fingers crossed 🤞

My friend owns a Re 650, its an amazing bike but plagued with issues. Fuel meter always gives false readings, chrome has started to rust in just 6 months & fuel ecomony is pathetic, max 18-19 in city. Plus that is one heavy bike, riding it in traffic & narrow lanes is a nightmare due to twin exhausts & high kerb weight. And that seat will give you hardcore back pain. I always dreamt of buying a re 650 & saved enough to buy one but after seeing his experience & riding the bike myself ,I postponed my plan.

That is what happens when you buy just looks and trend. GT twins were focussed and always seen as weekend highway munchers and never intended to use in city. If one need a bike for just city use, get a splendor. RE should work on quality issues but rest assured, GT is NOT A CITY BIKE😊
@aakashchoudhuri3 ай бұрын
@@srikanthr5446that's a well rounded answer. Seriously speaking, none of the 650 twin cylinder models from RE are meant for the purpose of commuting within the city. They are best to be taken to highways where the character of these engines shine in their own stride. Frankly speaking, one really doesn't need a 650 cc prime mover on 2 wheeler for city usage because nothing favours it. Fuel economy, heating from engine, weight, and others. Plus, just a slight roll on and roll off on throttle is enough for the entire ride in 1st or 2nd gear. 😂 I even find my 350 more than enough for city usage.

And its the smaller details really ,like having a colour matched fenders , the footpeg issues , rusting issue , the indicators etc. bsa looks much clean with that small and appropriate incidators , the fenders , and especially the shock covers . No bike can be perfect but there isn't any 650 re that ticks all the acceptable box. I mean re sells so many bikes so much money resources why can't the go out of the way to do proper design ergonomics & quality enhancements. Honda has so many cool & really good 500 650 plus bikes. Pricing is a downer for a well put together BSA bike.When someone is getting at the same price a parallel twin why will they go for a single cylinder. What is the point of faster acceleration when you will be vibrating to your bones at the end of it. QA QC you can expect to be closely matched as neither of them can match the foreign players(nor even the Bajaj). 650cc retro segment is quite a good one but the current players in it has so much to do to raise their standards. Honda should seriously look into launching a made in India 650cc patelle twin retro model. That should shake things up.

That's one of the stupidest logics I have heard in a long, long time. 😂 research that engine, compression ratio, bore/stroke, and the torque it manages to produce, then you might have a change of heart. That gear shit indicator isn't a huge miss, but it could've been there though.

Even if you attempt to serve bullshit on a silver plate, you know it is still going to remain a bullshit.

BSA is lovely indeed, the only problem is the poor track record of classic legends in reliability and fit-finish. And RE 650s have become way too common now, the standard of 650 is falling like KTM now. They are now just a reel making machine.

Classic Legends should hire someone from Toyota Service division if they really want to capitalise on the product like Goldstar. Their Customer support, presale support sucks. Dont expect any reply if you write to them on the email mentioned on their website. They have not trained customer management to their dealers at all. Good engineering alone can not win the game, I wonder when they will realise this truth.

3:41 The Husqvarna 701 has a single cylinder 700cc engine. Could be the biggest in the world. Also Ducati supermono

hey friends there is a catch here in pricing , showrooms in hyd are charging the ex showroom as 3.03 lakh and adding 6000 as PDI charges and stating it is not part of ex showroom and forcing i surance too at higher rate 😮

there isnt very big market for 650cc even RE dont sell handsome numbers for this . bsa brand launched just with one bike that too at higher end of the market . RE majority of sales are coming from hunter at 149k and classic at 179k . even triumph is launching more affordable 400 in that segment on sept 17

The time figures for acceleration seem wrong to me. I’ve been riding my interceptor since last 4 yrs and it hardly takes 6 sec from 0-100

Is it even worth to buy any of the 650 twins until the wobbling issue is resolved by RE?
