The neck hitbox thing is pretty simple, the neck hitbox will still exist but instead of being attributed to the head, it will be attributed to the thorax. Aka, you will still have a weaker point of armor that you can't quite defend as well as the rest, but when you get hit there, you won't instadie most of the time given it will hit your chest and not your head.

Flea lock in combination with the found in raid requirement for hideout upgrades is the biggest sales pitch for EOD/Unheard equivalents to force people into wanting to spend that money in order to upgrade stash and what not. I suspect that that supposed community feedback is them wanting to squeeze out more $$$ out of people making them even more frustrated about having to sit on even more loot that they don't want to suffer having to sell to Traders AGAIN. Just another stunt to make it seem "hardcore" but in the end just causing duality between normal buyers and whales. Sad that a game this good by premise alone would need anything like whats going on at the moment.

I completely agree, I'm an EOD owner for some years now and the stash size is killing me with the flea in combination with the FiR hideout, I'm a veteran and have 5 junkboxes, 3 item cases, 3 meds cases and more and my stash is almost always completely full, I can't imagine how standard edition players or such can play the game in the current state.

Is every update without flaw? Old armor hitbox's made that wipes armor literally useless. It didnt matter what tier a clip got you killed. The neck hitbox is directly connected to the head hitbox (35 health btw) and makes it easier to hit headshots then body 90% of the time. This will likely be a much healthier update for pvp and pve.

I think it means instead of being 35hp and relying on any facemasks that cover throat now it’s 75hp and some armor will cover your throat like the few that visually would but they don’t since it’s only facemasks. It’s a great change as now it’s easier to armor the throat and you won’t get 1 tapped by 95% of ammo

The Flea lock is being a nightmare for us more casual/lower level players. All it's meaning is the lower level (15-25) players are relying on the equally low level vendors so running low end gear vs lv35+ players with end game gear. Like, even getting half decent ammo is a trial, let alone enough to fill multiple mags needed. Worst is .300. The only people really hurt by the lock is us lot. The every evening gamers and the hard-core grinders are only having stash limit issues. Though maybe that's the plan, get people to buy stash space before unlocking flea 🤷‍♂️

Hey, PvE player here (aka filthy casual). Just seeing comments on this "mystery" part of the community that likes the closed flea. As he points put in the above video, there is a strong sector of the community that is enjoying the flea delay. Watch any of the other Tarkov streamers he mentions or some of the smaller streamers and both they and their communities seem to be enjoying the closed flea. BSG isn't faking the community enjoying it (though they're probably using it as en excuse to cover themselves for some issues in reinstating it lol)

The gameplay loop just feels right this wipe. I am loving no flea. Been having amazing firefights. I'd say in-game survey would still be better. If someone does not play because they hate not having the flea then their voice doesn't really matter as much and is not as important since they left anyway. I don't think there is any risk of miscomunication on the neck hitbox, the post is clear cut. Right now if you are shot in the throat it counts as a headshot, so 35 damage to kill. After the change it counts as a thorax hit so it's 85 damage for a kill. From what Nikita said that explanation would cover 100% of what the change means.

I think the majority of the community is very happy with no flea. Sure stash space is tough but it’s making raids more engaging and PvP more balanced and enjoyable. Being able to store FIR hideout items in the modules would be nice, but we’ll survive without flea for a couple more days.

If i remember it correctly like 60% of the people who own the game dont have those achievements so they stopped playing before those got added. And that is fine, bsg needs to lock in what kind of game and audience they want. Is it the hardcore extraction shooter or the fake ruble generation game. It can't really be both as we have seen from the drop in players during mid wipe

They chose to add farming years before base building or even vehicles, the game fell into obscurity and never recovered, it has like 40k active players now. But other branch of DayZ mod developed into Battle Royale, which then became PUBG, which for a time was the most popular game on Steam, and still no other game managed to beat its peak numbers. Sadly no game has managed to replicate DayZ Epoch experience, but Rust independently went into a similar, but not quite similar enough, direction. I expect Tarkov to end up in the same situation if it chooses to cater to non-existent "hardcore" audience, alienating its actual audience in the process.

i am monitoring my reasons of diing and about 1/3 is head/throat or head/neck (i play pve) so this is a guge win. i think scavs are really aimbotty, some raids i get 10 headshots in short time and i went from wearing mostly basic lvl4 high cut helmets and plates only (HPC or bigpipe rig) to throat lvl3 armor with lvl5+ plates and altyn 90% of my raids. i just got killed by headshots so insanely much. my survival rate dropepd from 76% to 51% in the first days of the wipe

I think flea being locked is a good thing, It preserves a lot of early wipe feels and i feel like stops a lot of progression which is good for the player base that has a life outside of gaming, but i do think that there should be more barters and ways to get keys and items needed to play the game.

I love the flea market delay. That being said, BSG did it in the worst possible way when there were just hours counting down on the flea 😂. Should’ve done a server like Airwing said a few days ago, that way people could’ve had a warning and more transparency+ understanding of what the community itself wants. Found myself on Monday/Tuesday saying “well, better shit now, time to quit the game soon. It’ll be “best you can buy” on flea market meta spam, and then max trader meta gear spam with ez money and rubles. After 2,500 hours I’ve gotten to the point where I realize it’s time for me to quit when we get to that point. I want a “harder” game with no flea AND trader changes to make the “hard” part even for both casuals and chads. I know that’s not everybody’s idea or desire for the game and that’s OK. Just think it would be better to rely more on looting weapons, gear, bartering for the meta items or crafting them with a combination of looted items and barters. Keeping the “spirit” of early wipe via nerfs to trader meta spam, infinite ez rubles scavving streets and flea. Even 2-3 months into wipe, you have to build kits based on what you have or can get, not “the best” over and over… Hardcore server and wipeless “normal” server upon release seems better than just wipe and wipeless server on release that both have flea and meta gear traders imo

Flea being closed is really fun. I totally understand the key rng being shitty but that isn’t the problem. All quest keys should be attainable in a real way, besides loot rng

That way is literally the flea. Before the flea there were discord servers where people just traded stuff between each other. You can't do it now, because God forbid you help your teammate get some barter items or keys, that's RMT. Meanwhile, the actual RMT is booming due to those restrictions, as people buy cheater carries. No penalty for those, btw.

I think the point about "the people not playing this wipe or logging in anymore won't see it on the launcher" is not a good argument. Put the survey in-game, people that are not playing this wipe shouldn't have a say so because they already committed to NOT playing. They're not playing because Hideout stuff in FIR, not because Flea is locked. Get the feedback of those who ARE playing.

The game is genuinely more work friendly this wipe. I have 2 jobs so it’s hard to grind a bunch but I’m a decent level and decent progress cause more loot is available. I love having no flee market and they should consider not needing it

It's literally the opposite. It's the worst it's ever been for people with work. When flea was unrestricted, then it didn't matter how much you played, because you could always just buy good ammo and do quests, questing wasn't necessary to obtain good ammo.

I think its pathetic that people dont have the self-control to NOT use the flea market. Nobody is forcing anyone to use the FM, so play the game without it if you dont want it. Just like I wont play the game until it gets a 1.0 release. The world is full of choices, we choose to listen to Airwing, and you can choose to not use flea, pretty simple. Dont let others rule your play.

Dunno, this wipe made me realize flea has no real impact on the game other than making it less annoying. Im still almost 44 already and run nothing but class 5 armor and helmet/faceshield/headset combo. It doesnt really have a slowing effect. Its just tedious and makes you wanna hoard stuff to sell once the shit market is open. ( which makes them sell stash space, which is all this is about ) But i would care less if they had better game design. ( Every quest key should be possible to barter, and also every attachment needed for gunsmith )

You don't understand. That's their game design. The whole point of no flea is that you can't get those keys other than through dumb luck, you can't get those attachments to help you progress other than through dumb luck. It doesn't do that in practice, because BSG are terrible at predicting the outcomes of their actions accurately.
