Although changing the keyboard color to a specific color is something you have to go to the BIOS for, you can toggle through multiple preset colors by pressing "Fn+C" at the same time. You can define the RGB value of these preset colors in the BIOS for fast favorite switching which is pretty neat. Great video!

my rule for a rugged laptop is oddly specific, its only rugged if it can survive being dropped off the top of a double decker bus going 64mph down the dual carriageway dont ask

Interesting enough, a laptop came back that from my other job was thrown out of a car, plenty of scratches externally, a few little dints on outside, the screen was cracked, trackpad was cracked as it was glass but surprisingly able to turn on and work perfectly fine, screen displayed without any artifcating even with the huge amount of cracks like rock hitting a windscreen, the display was touchscreen and it was working fine too biggest surprised to me and the team.

I was thinking about getting the 7220 but seeing this and looking at the relative spend between the two, i think I will be going with this after buying a 5820. And I will max out the RAM to 33 or 64 due to the issues below. Two question though, can I charge via the USB C and how easy is the handle to remove if I carry a screwdriver in my laptop bag.

May I ask the distance and angle where the noise meter is placed during the speaker test, thank you.

When I measure all the sound measurements it is always 30cm away from the speakers for speaker test and 30cm from computer for fan noise measurement. The decibel meter is usually angled about 55-60 degrees from the laptop ( help with filming so you guys can see it)

The Latitude 5430 Rugged has two SoDIMM slots for RAM and has support to maximum total 64GB RAM which is 32GB per slot.
