BSL021 Resistance Measurement 2-Wire/3-Wire & 4-Wire Kelvin

In this Video I measure the resistance of a low value 2.2 ohm resistor using a standard 2-wre measurement, as well as 3-wire and 4-wire kelvin clips.
The meters used are the Fluke 8846A 6.5 digit precision multimeter, Fluke 726 precision process calibrator, Fluke 289 50,000 count multimeter, Fluke 87 20,000 count multimeter, and a Fluke 117 6,000 count multimeter.
The focus of this video is taking the resistance measurement and the effect of 2-wire vrs 3-wire and 4-wire kelvin measurement with a relatively low ohm resistor.
Making a measurement of resistance under 1 ohm or where a close tolerance is required would preferably be done with a Kelvin measurement, but the environment also needs to be controlled.
This video focuses on a more common need to measure resistance where a Kelvin measurement is not typically required - subtracting the test lead resistance to compensating for their resistance when making measurements under a few ohms which is a common need.
Although not covered in this video, when performing a relative measurement the meter will be switched into a manual ranging mode. This is not normally a problem and most measurements I take are normally use manual ranging because it speeds up the measurement, however it is something you need to be aware of if you are used to only a auto ranging meter.

Fluke 289 does have Lo Ohm measurement up to 50 ohm and 1 milliohm resolution; wish you do the same test using that feature.

Could you please measure difference between resistance of gold connectors vs nickel vs silver?? It's so much misunderstanding and need around that information. Also i would like to see whether there is a difference between gold on gold and gold on nickel connections? For Neutrik NP2X series for example. This would be super valuable content for the internet

So i'm willing to know if it's true that mutlimeter like U1273AX is far way superior then fluke 87v ,because U1273AX has a lot of separeted IC's which makes him less noisy and more precise . Hi, Precision is part of the design parameters. The design team now what those are and one designer may chose one approach over another for many reasons including cost, comfort and familiarity. One could argue that more components can impact reliability, but I suspect a large percentage of meters are not actually replaced due to component failure. One could also argue that products which use off the shelf discrete components are more serviceable but that became a mute point since a lot of what were once in-house custom designed chipsets have been replaced by off the shelf purpose designed chipsets. Like most things there are advocates for any brand but you just have to remember they are just advocates.
