In this video, I am demonstrating a simple workflow of getting gaussian splat that you capture and process using Polycam, cleaning it up in Super-Splat, and then import using Gaussian Splatting addon and render inside Blender as Point Cloud.
The whole thing is pretty easy and fun. A lot faster today than few years ago. Imagine this: you can basically scan any environment and static object as Gaussian Splat objects! The whole world can be captured as splats!
In the future, we probably will capture 3D animated performance like dancing animated gaussian splat?

Important thing to note for others, this blender plugin struggles if you have a version higher than 4.0. So I advise downgrading to 4.0 if you want to play around with that.

So basically they look like garbage in blender are unusable in almost all software? Gaussian splat is awesome but seriously how can i actually use one of these files for cinema?

Any idea why my .ply import doesn't go to color when I click the "render" view? The import stays as a bunch of grey dots.

When I load my LumaAI splats, Supersplat says "Error TypeError: Cannot read properties of undefined (reading '0')" :(

When I import a splat into 4.0, nothing shows up. If i bring it in to 3.6 instead, I get a point cloud but no geometry nodes. Any idea why or how to resolve this?
