No,rules changed when Aston Martin quits LMH and GTE (yes,GTE too) for going to F1.They bought Racing Point,quits Red Bull Racing sponsorship,and ex-Racing Point is known as Aston Martin Cognizant F1 Team

Tbh, this is all more on Aston's previous owner rather than Stroll. All of these regulation changes happened well before Stroll comes in. They make this Hypercar to race (and make a lot of press hype about it) even though they're in financial ruin which just idiotic.

Still looking like a typical SCG Nürburgring contender,but,still is beautiful.And I like that ACO was back to allow 3-digit numbers in cars.708 and 709 are very historic numbers in SCG (uh,well,recent history.Still is cool)

Very impressive effort by Glickenhaus and Pipo. It is great to see the massive jump taken by Pipo to build this engine. Aston Martin's priorities seem to concentrate on shifting SUVs or building collector friendly cars rather than racing. I would imagine that Adrian Newey is as unimpressed as motor sport fans everywhere. I'm not in the market for one of these bolides, but the sportscar and sports prototype efforts by Alpine, Dallara, Glickenhaus and Toyota command my highest respect.

Thanks for the video! Yes the Aston Martin story is very unfortunate. They should really be ashamed of their behaviour. Anyway, I wonder how the fuel flow regulations would have been, if we had stayed at 1100 bhp? Would the ACO just let them go like crazy down the straights without lifting for fuel saving like now (but with much more bhp) or would we have seen the lifting as we have seen the last couple of years? IMO the ACO did a very good job, of keeping the formula alive despite the decision by Aston Martin.
@williamford95643 жыл бұрын
I am not sure of the timing of the Aston Martin thing and all the particulars but it is possible the promises were made by the previous owners/management. The company was going bankrupt when Stroll came in, injected cash and saved the company. With the financial commitments he had to make for Formula One it is possible and perfectly reasonable for him to decide that was a greater priority. The company has also exited manufacturer supported sports car racing in the WEC. If he had not stepped in, Glickenhaus would have been in the same situation when AM went under.

Why is the high pressure fuel pump driven by the camshaft. Wouldnt it make more sense to just have an electric pump instead?
@BSport3203 жыл бұрын
It need quite some power. It's common for ICE
@288gto73 жыл бұрын
B Sport I see now , Thanks a lot. I used to think that engine driven pumps like Kugelfischer died after the 80s and that every benzin engine from that point on started using electric pumps.
@alesksander3 жыл бұрын
If u think about it. F1 uses camshaft as main source for high pressure pumps. Its efficient, reliable and very very compact design. Althoght they uses low pressure e pumps in tanks to get fuel towards high pressure accumulators.
