When they announced their participation, I took it as a joke. No one was talking about them and forgetting them... who are they compared to Toyota or (at the time) Aston Martin, right? But here they are, with a cheap but innovative race car that presents interesting solutions both in term of performance and cost cutting. I'm not expecting them to be on the same level at Toyota, but boy you have to admire the dedication these guys have put in their project!

their technical partnership with Joest Racing and driver lineup have really caught my eye -- even if they aren't super competitive their first season, Joest knows exactly how to find more performance in a car, and their drivers certainly have the race winning experience that can help guide that development. this is going to be a really great team to watch.

This is why you have to love SCG. No corporate backing, no financial viability discussion, no consideration for brand image, just building a racecar because you want to. Or to quote Jim Glickenhaus (on the SCG003 back in the day): "I do this because I can afford it and I like racing. There is no higher motive than that other than my own enthusiasm. After all, if you had the money, wouldn't you do the same?"

Honestly, as beautiful and classy the Glickenhaus is, you can't blame Toyota for choosing the more performance-based design, because after all teams don't compete to build the most beautiful car, but the fastest
@devandrasimanjuntak16463 жыл бұрын
@@alessiobonamini1792 adding to that, as mentioned in the video, the reason that the Glickenhaus looks like that is because they are budget limited. Had that not been the case, the car would have been similar in design to Toyota as it is more effective.
@megatechbody32073 жыл бұрын
Toyota less? How about Audi or Porsche? It needs more constructors, always.
@jamesglickenhaus.23113 жыл бұрын
As the aero is limited by rules going beyond them is wasted. The final design is different from the renders and wind tunnel model in your video. The driver is not center seat as the rules don't allow it. The passenger seat is the minimum allowed and the driver is pushed as close to the center as allowed. We are ready to livestream the final assembly IF we can conform to Italian law on work place cameras. Many of your assumptions are wrong but besides that...

Awesome video ! The lasts pictures posted by the SCG shows the air box with naca air ducts on the side... And on twitter, he answered a guy who was asking what was the use of that by "Very interesting engineering. Multi PSI inlets and functions..." Can't wait to see what it will be used for ! Imo it as something to do with the two air intakes that are still not used... And maybe the intercooler ! Who knows ? 😁 Btw about the big nose, if I remember correctly, Jim Glicknaus said that the car will be available for customer teams, witch will be able to use a different engine and an hybrid system if they want to... So that's why there is a big nose ! To let potential buyers add a hybrid system 😉
@BSport3203 жыл бұрын
Thank you very much! I read and saw that too and think the NACA ducts are for clutch cooling. There wouldn't be enough air for intercoolers. I am working on the next part where I will talk about this in more detail.

It has an Air to water intercooler, so the radiator in the one sinde is used for engine vooling, and the other side is for coolinh the intercooler water, and these things dont have to be big, they could also intercool it by using the air conditioning to cool the compressed air, as the dodge demon does it

I might bring an update once there are news from the test in Aragon. As for the paint it depends on the car (prototype or formula car) and if the car gets painted or wrapped. In F1 it's around 1.5kg.

ByKolles announced that they are not going to build an LMH car
@BSport3203 жыл бұрын
In german news Colin Kolles said they are building the car and will test it in February but won't race this year in LMH because of some argument with ACO.
@csonkaperdido3 жыл бұрын
@@BSport320 OK good! I am American, but my family is German, (Oma is from Leipzig... Opa is from Heidenheim) so I was always a supporter of the Kolles cars and team. Here in America the last news I heard was that ByKolles had canceled their plans because of Covid... I am glad to hear that they are not going to quit! I just hope the car is better than that Nissan/Enso LMP1 car... The LMP1 car that was slower than the LMP2 cars. That car sucked, I sure hoped one day Colin can win Le Mans. I was very hopeful when he got the Audi R10 cars after Audi began racing the R15. The Kolles cars are always some of the best looking cars, I love the neon green and gray livery... Some people hate it, but that makes me like it more. I am so glad to hear that there will be a ByKolles car in WEC. I go to the Daytona 24 hours and Sebring 12 hours almost every year because I am in Florida. I am so excited to see the LMH cars and LMDh cars battle in the 2023 racing season... I am also so happy that Audi and Porsche are returning to the top class and will be allowed to race at Daytona and Sebring. I am one of the people who think the ACO has made some TERRIBLE decisions in the past, and they made the 24 hrs of Le Mans a joke ever since Porsche left the WEC. The ACO just made it impossible for any car besides Toyota to win. I still do not think of the 3 Toyota victories as legitimate victories. They had no competition. If Bayern Munich only ever had matches against FC Heidenheim, of course Bayern would always win. I just found your channel, and it is awesome! Somehow you find details, photos and CAD drawings that offer would have never been able to find! Awesome channel!
