The taper is the same between the two tapered threads, .0625 per inch, or 3/4 per 12 inches. However, as with the diameter being different the BSPT has a Whitworth thread profile with 55 degree flanks, where the NPT is 60 degree as is true with metric and UN thread types.

If you’re trying to use your old hose then yes. BSPP will not screw into BSPT. 😕
