Cheers to Coach Mora....he handled Simers much better than I ever could. I so could not do this job!

How did this AH ever get into the room. Good job staying so cool and dignified Coach.

1. I get why the question is being asked, but there are better ways you could approach it. Why the animosity and the snide tone? or the personal attack towards the coach? 2. How does a preseason NFL have any comparison at all to this game? Am I confused? Do preseason NFL games impact future opponents like this one did? The reporter seemed clearly want to evoke anger and/or start a fight with that line of questioning. 3. Are we (as fans) really prepared to hear a true answer to this?

TJ is the man!

Like Mora said. If you play it like the pre season the starters won't be in the game past the 1st or 2nd quarter.

A press conference is not for a reporter to "make a statement," as this clown was doing. I'm no Jim Mora Jr. fan, but that reporter was out of line - and Mora handled it well.

What a troll reporter. Even Mora can spot a troll. I guess TJ was looking to entice a "PLAYOFFS" moment.

Even though I don't like TJ I think he is right. Stanford was not that much better than UCLA and the evidence is the second game.

I don't know how this guy is still working for the LA Times

Creating winning culture is executed by winning as many games as possible - not simply by winning the Rose Bowl. The reporter is out of line. It seems like he is trying to evoke a response or draw out something he thinks he knows to which others aren't privy. Also, how do you know you can beat a team when it is 7-7 in the first quarter???

why would he be vindicated? What he said was so idiotic, it deserves no vindication.

At what point did it become a reporter's job to "hold his feet to the fire"... that's the job of coach's employers (UCLA Athletic Dept). Simers is a hack and unprofessional... asking tough questions is one thing... acting like a childish rube is something else entirely.

I've always imagined Tj sitting on a moth-eaten recliner with ramen noodles on his cigarette burned sports bra writing his trashy articles. It's a total mystery why the LA times continues to employ such a pretentious hack. Not to mention a known racist *cough* Serena Williams *cough* The antagonist-shtick died out in the 40's, only Tj still thinks he's Robert Duvall in The Natural. Someone please retire this relic. I guess a moderately objective sports critique is too much to ask from the Times.

There is nothing hilarious about this "reporter's" antics and there is nothing that will be vindicated if UCLA defeats Stanford in the championship game. This is not an example of a "reporter" holding anyone's feet to the fire, but rather simply grandstanding, egomaniacal idiocy. Two teams can play one another three times in three weeks and have three completely different outcomes if they have similar abilities. It is largely dependent on preparation and the team's emotional state. Just dumb
