You should get the "HDPLEX 250W Hi-Fi DC-ATX Power Supply" it more than capable of handling that system with the gpu and less intrusive . I've used it in several build for my nes and ps2 cases.

yea they discontinued the 250 but they make a 300w model now and the 160w version you could buy 2 and double it up and it would still barely take any space up

Nice to hear. These small factor builds are super cool, but also really tough to work with. I'm here working on my own main computer. Radiator support made for 2x560 radiators and dual ITX motherboards mounted. Won't be super tiny, but a lot in mediocre space. =)

hey awesome project! i am planning on doing the same but with a laptop, was wondering how you manage to reuse the original reset power button to make it power button, is there a way to do so with the eject button for my odd drive?

With a power meter I figured out what lines on the ribbon cable were connected to the buttons. I mean its a button and you can use it for anything you want. Working with that ribbon cable was hard, next time I'll make a small pcb with breakout connector to have easier time.

Awesome project! Good job! I am building a similar itx console pc. I use the following parts: i3 3220, asrock itx h67m, 4gb ram, (gpu not yet decided). PSU: xbox 360 203W psu and a chinese LR1106 (maybe realan) 250W psu. My problem is, when i push the power on button, my rig wont start. Fan spin one and that is all. Ive already installed a switch on the xbox psu. But only 1 from 15 tries, pc turn on. What should i do? Could you help me please? Of corse, i ve tried the pc parts with a working PC psu and everything is fine. But when i use this realan/ xbox combo, my pc wont power on. Thanks a lot and BIG UP!

Hey so I stumbled upon your video as I am attempting to plan out a mini itx build in a ps2 as well. Parts seem relatively easy to fit but it's the power supply that's got me stumped. The video was hard to see, but how did you over come this problem?

Not dumb, more like curious. There's just not enough room. I could fit small normal psu, with sacrifice of GPU... My best option is external power supply + picopsu/etc :)

don't get the pico psu get the HDPLEX 250W Hi-Fi DC-ATX Power Supply it's what he should of used. I've used it on several builds it works great and could handle this system with no issue's. The hdplex 250 maxes out at 400w peak with a good proper cooling fan The second thing that urks me is he is using full sized fans, He should of got the slimline version that are static positive pressure then just having big bulging fans on the outside. Also cutting his heatsink was a waste, they make slimline heatsinks that are just efficient . the moment he cut the copper pipe he ruined any chance of long term cooling.
@BTA_KeepItFun
@BTA_KeepItFun 7 жыл бұрын
It just does support it. Total power draw was not higher than that. Now i have newer parts and I've upgraded power solution as the GPU. I'm really looking to get that HDPLEX to test or use, but it was out of stock when I was trying to buy it. I used full size fans to get slower speeds, but still good airflow and pressure. I mostly do my projects with stuff I already own, or stuff that I've found as used for cheap. Cutting the heatsink did NOT ruin long term cooling, I've accually given that GPU to my friend for daily use (average 9hours a day, gaming) and it is NOT overheating or throttling.
@Exessive-Gaming
@Exessive-Gaming 7 жыл бұрын
Slimlines fans are the same size, just not as thick, speed shouldn't matter when it comes to full size or slimline for idle. Cutting the heatsink will effect the gpu, you may not notice it ever till one day when you bump something that moves it and the contacts snap the solder from the heat. then again it may never happen, Either way they sell passive cooling that I believe can handle up to the 1080 for the mini nvidia gpu.
@BTA_KeepItFun
@BTA_KeepItFun 7 жыл бұрын
What slimline fans would look good in your opinion? Cutting the heatsink obviously decreased cooling performnace, but it's not overheating. It is used now daily with original fans in normal case, I'll ask my friend where the temps are maxing. In other thought if i lost 1% of life span because temps are 10'c higher it is not a big deal. I paid 50€ for this GPU anyway, and it's getting a bit old.
