Few notes from the Q& A: 00:51 - Z-guard vs the kneecut: counter floating knee with false-reap. 02:14 - Escaping double trouble: exploit the fact that your partner has his hands full and shift your weight to the outside hip. If he laces the legs, release the pressure by bringing your hip hight. 05:14 - Defending toehold from double trouble: Avoid bringing your leg backward. Rather, push the toes into the mats. 06:09 - Finishing the buggy choke: it's essential to cover the shoulder similar to triangle strangles. 0:08 - Cool moves from rear body lock: to roll back into the legs try to break the grip and bring your hip out of the body lock to bait your partner to bring his leg closer in between your legs. 12:47 - Granby roll details: you need to bring the inside leg outside to the same side. 15:00 - Passing the low -and high- knee shield: to pass a clamping low shield start by establishing a low underhook, bring your hip to their foot, bumle the leg inside to spread the legs apart, then step over to their back. For a high knee shield, utilize a weave grip by bunching the mat near the hip. 17:51 - The deadlift armbar: works best when your partner is tense. 19:11 - Ezekial choke mechanics: cup the whole throat as you bring elbows together and fill the space left with your head. 34:38 -Dealing with sprawl from false reap : extended the upper leg as much as possible to shift his weight away and make it easier to invert. 38:22 - Finishing the RNC: ratchet your strangling-arm shoulder-deep to the other side. 46:19 - Troubleshooting the bodylock pass : bring the ear as close as possible to the shoulder. 49:47 - Standing side bodylock : use knee slide to kill the Uchi Mata 55:37 - Wrestling: Underhook vs overhook: From the underhook keep your partner's elbow high.

Kron sent the reputation of Jiu Jitsu back about 20 years.
@mnj01777 Жыл бұрын
Jesus fckng Christ...I will start by saying that the "reputation" of Jiu Jitsu (in MMA) 20 years ago was much better than it is today. Secondly, it's the individual who fights, not the style. Kron is just a human, and his loss doesn't in any way reflect on Jiu Jitsu as a martial art or sport.
@JesusChrist2000BC Жыл бұрын
@mnj01 It does when you are butt scooting to a crowd of tens of millions watching worldwide to boos. Calm down and take a chill pill.
@notl0cal Жыл бұрын
@@JesusChrist2000BC Sounds like you don't study your own creation. Kron is just a man and although a Gracie, does not define the sport of Jiu Jitsu. I would love to see a grappling match between most UFC fighters and Kron. Would a Kron win justify the sport of MMA regressing? No. Because not only are they just fish in a sea of athletes, they are 2 entirely different disciplines with similar concepts. Judo and Jiu Jitsu are comparable, but a Judo athlete in a grappling rule set will lose out almost every time to a person who trains BJJ. This is simple shit. Anyone commenting slanderous shit about Jiu Jitsu after watching the Kron match is showing how uneducated they are in regards to grappling.

30:10 I think he’s asking about the floating rib foot lock which John shows in his leg lock instructional. It puts pressure on the inside of the knee instead of the foot. iirc, he shows it in cross ashi double trouble while going through ankle lock options on the secondary leg. I love it in irimi ashi and don’t compete but I’ve always wondered if it’s something lower belts can get away in rulesets that don’t allow heel hooks as it essentially attacks the knee LoL

most black belts say that they just want to serve the sport and grow jiujitsu, but in reality, they're after nothing but money. Craig claims to want nothing but money, but really he's only focused on growing the sport. the reverse hypocrite if you will.

Man I hope you eventually cover what those mexican fight camps are doing with closed gaurd. Also great content lately.
@chrispoggi1726 Жыл бұрын
He mentioned it in his video about kron! Jist of it was that Mexican use alot of elbows and strikes in the guard to open up their hips and go for a sub. When you elbow a homie on the top of the head it makes them real hesitant to use head pressure and heavy top pressure yanno
@justin8865 Жыл бұрын
@Chris Poggi thanks for the thoughtful reply, I rewatched and yes what you said makes sense, although he does say idk what they're doing at those fight camps.. I guess my take away from the whole context is to be super aggressive with the closed gaurd whether submission attempts or striking to set up submissions.
@justin8865 Жыл бұрын
@Chris Poggi I just enjoy close gaurd and am starting to develop a very tight game. I don't like scrambling. Shits tires me out, so therefore any tech that allows me to slow the match I dig
