Hint: turn off sensor, to keep picture brightness. Also, I found the AI picture makes it look worse. Set gamma to 2.2. When I go to dolby vision the tv auto brightens when detects it(probably turns HDR10+ mode on), even on youtube. I only had this tv for about 4 days, but love the picture quality and no complains about the sound. I have not tried playing any series x games yet, but it has cloud gaming built in with many apps. KZbin videos look great, netflix 4k and apple tv look fantastic. I can't really say much about other tv picture, I am coming from a 2020 hisense 75 h8g, so it wasn't as good as newer mini led and oled. But I can't see how it could look much better than this. I was going to get another hisense, the u8n, but was only about $388 more for the s90d and the slightly bigger 77 inches was perfect for a built in I have in corner. Looks like it was made for the tv now.

I just picked up the 77" S90D in late October, when Best Buy had a massive price drop on the model. I wall mounted it in my master bedroom with all wires concealed in-wall for a super clean install. I'm not a fan of built in tv streaming, so I'm using an Nvidia Shield pro for streaming. I also turned the tv speakers "off" and instead i'm using my Marantz SR5015 AVR with 5 KEF Ci200QS in-wall speakers and a low profile subwoofer under my bed for truly deep, rich, but detailed surround sound. As for the Tv . . . it's amazing and looks massive in my tiny bedroom. The picture quality is off the chart. I could not be happier! 😄

​@tracer073 when you say 55" is too small you sound real dum. For most of television history, if you had a 32" or 36" tv you had a big tv. Just because 55" is becoming the standard smallest size for many manufacturers, doesn't mean they're small at at. Not everyone wants to sit 30 feet from their 85" or turning their heads to track what's on screen. For a majority of people 55" to 65" (if they're being honest) is perfectly sized, not too big and nowhere near small!

Well it is the least expensive of the options, but definitely for a reason. Especially for Samsungs industry lagging processing and calibration. Lack of Dolby vision support (nearly the market default and the only manufacturer not to support it). For the discerning buyer it’s Samsung

Here in Brazil, just the 55" is qdoled. 65, 77, 83 are all woled. Almost got an 77" thinking it was qdoled. Happy that i didnt. Oled is always fantastic, but if im getting a samsung, im expecting a qdoled and not a woled.

Just got the 77" s90d for around $1750 after sale. QD-Oled is a great panel. Biggest difference i notice is the motion processing. Family member has a prior gen Samsung mini-led and the processing motion wise is much better. I don't know if its because of the more responsive OLED or just better processing, but motion definitely looks more "natural" and less soap opera. The processing moving forward makes the largest difference with these newer panels. Most people aren't feeding them blu-ray levels of data so the tv has to pick up the rest of the slack. Great TV. There is a brightness war going on, but i put this in my small bedroom at pretty short distances and its almost overwhelmingly bright.

​@joelskariah3968 I been looking for 3 weeks, only deal I have seen is if you use a military or other 10% discount. Unless open box. I just bought the 77 s90d for $1,884.89 new from samsung. All prices are the same from any retailer that is approved by samsung. There is no sale at one store that others don't get(at least in US), it's across the board(even costco). I used 10% military, $50 recycled old tv credit and I had $8 on my samsung account from phone purchase. Tv has beautiful picture quality, sound is good, only thing I hate is samsungs home page, too much clutter of recommendations and coming from Google start tv, is just something I need to get used to. Need to make a couple minor picture settings to get that wow, but very happy with the picture quality.

Many reviewers say s90d is the better buy. The main advantage of s95d is the one connect box. Although it has 4.2.2 speaker system, it doesn't sound as good as the 2.1 speaker of the s90d.

Btw I just got the s90d. So far, it gets so bright on hdr when pc gaming, i felt nauseous. So far, I have mixed feelings compared to a miniled qn90d, but it's definitely better than an LG C3.

It still sucks on modern Samsungs. Maybe on par with a 2017 Sony. But Samsung has always been behind on processing. If you want great you get an LG. If you want the best Sony and Panasonic are absolutely fantastic at processing. I couldn’t even handle a Samsung for free as they’re so incredibly behind.

I got this tv last week for 2199 at BestBuy. The picture isn’t as good as the G4. I had an issue with the 65 G4 turning off after 30 minutes or so. I was going to just exchange for another G4 but seen I could get this tv in the 77 inch for 100 bucks cheaper. It’s a good tv for the price like your title says. If it was the same price size for size with the G4 I’d 100% go G4.

No Dolby Vision or DTS audio pass-through on the S90D. That may or may not be a deal breaker for some. If you don't watch any movies on 4K Blu-Ray discs then the lack of DTS audio may not be an issue.

You were supposed to turn Intelligent Mode on in order to get automatic picture brightness, I have QN90A and it was the same issue while it is off the picture is not that bright. So, turning it on fixes the issue with brightness.

Samsung will be the worst for movies and tv shows being they’re behind all the either big brands in image processing (but that’s the norm). You also don’t get Dolby vision support (which is basically the industry standard) and have to default to inferior HDR10 because nearly nothing uses Samsungs HDR10+. It’s a hard choice at that price range as the next step up is large in performance. The C4 panel without MLA is inferior to the Samsung QDOLED. But better at everything else. Samsung sucks at the rest of the TV things beyond the panel. If you can muster it the G4 is likely the best bang for buck between it and the A95L (Sony being the best for movies and TV shows, the LG G4 being the best for gaming). G4 right now has been going on sale. The A95L unfortunately doesn’t go on sale much. I love Sony but $1000 less on a G4 makes it a better buy. And the G4 is the best for gaming in general especially if you move to PC as it has some of the lowest input lag and Gsync support.

@ same really. I’d love the A95L as my main TV isn’t used for much gaming outside my Nintendo switch (I have a few gaming PCs too but elsewhere). But even a 65” lately with the sales is $1000 more at 3300. The G4 is no slouch and does do some things better than the A95L so I feel if you want one of the best that’s the sweet spot right now for an all rounder. And yeah the 5 year panel warranty included for burn in is a nice extra.

2nd and 3rd gen qd panels are super durable with that. S95b it definitely could be an issue but pixel shift helps. That's why they nerfed s95b withing a few updates. Screen couldn't handle the og brightness. Wether they knew that and boosted it to sell more at first no one knows

Just got my 65 and it really is. People said I wouldn't notice going from my 55 inch s95b and they were wrong. If the c series was marked down more....I'd say 65 inch around 1250 or so it would be easier to recommend but as it stands right now it is like 100 cheaper and just not worth it. I will say the stand could use some work. I don't love it. It needs to be one solid piece imo.

I’m having a hard time seeing the football 😂😂😂 when I bought a frame, the installer pulled the first football video on KZbin and the ball was invisible. He then fixed the motion setting and the ball re-appeared. He says everyone tells Samsung to fix it but they won’t. The S90D is not as bad but the ball is close to invisible in fast shots.

Here in the US, we have 55", 65" and 77" in QD-OLED, but 83" is still WOLED. That said, we are already hearing very strong rumors of an 83" Quantum Dot S90E coming in 2025. If true, this would be very exciting news. I expect we will know something by January 7-10 at the CES in Las Vegas.

And I thought we’re already bad in Thailand as the only QD-OLED models available here are only 55” and 65” model. What ridiculous for me is that previous year the 77” S90C was still available here. I really do not understand why this year they decided not to give us the 77” QD-OLED for the new S90D. Let’s see if I will go for the S95D with some discount or wait for the S90E. Now, like you, im thinking if i wait the s90e/f, but its not sure if it will be qdoled, or i get hisense u8n 85". All reviews i read says the tv is fantastic, but im afraid because im an oled guy, and because thr company jusr arrived here. We dont know if they have realiable products. Ill probably go for thr u8n, for thr price and size, the 85" is almost the same price as the lg c4 and samsung s90d 65".

It stopped working after a month and a half and I’ve been waiting on Samsung to refund me or ship me a new one for three weeks. They finally called and told me they can’t locate one. I'm glad I watched this before I got mine. I had no one to help me and doing it your way definitely made it doable by myself.....not preferable obviously. If you aren't a loner loser like me please get a 2nd person guys. Especially 65 inches and up I would say. Maybe 55 too depending on your wind spand.

@ “for the price you paid” does detract from anything I said lol. Sony does indeed have the best QDOLED experience for enthusiasts. Samsung is indeed usually the worst option when it comes to most other TVs. They make great panels, they just suck at image processing and tuning their TVs. It sucks because Samsung has some neat technology for the parts they make, they just don’t have the care of expertise to make a great product with it. Always lackluster.
