WOW! I spent ages sitting on the benches when there was a traffic island & a taxi rank there in the 80s & boozin in the bowling greens behind it before it was a 5-a-side fitbaw place. That was sooo informative! Nice one as usual. Magic!

Staying true to form as our Resident Historian he presents to us another fine episode of Glasgow history. I myself enjoy the way he relates the fine cities history with present day events and locations. Thank you Sir.

The years I’ve passed the building and never knew. It does show we really don’t know what we see every day. Got to appreciate the detail and research these clips go into.

Thanks for all the time and thoughtful work you invest in your channel! It helps me learn where my family lived. My grandparents lived near Queens Park on Calder and Bankhall Streets. Cheers! Have a dram on me.

I was looking at Langside Hall on historic maps last week, and couldn’t work out why the building looked so much older than when it appeared on the map. This video answers that question!

Great video. The ornamental fountain at Glasgow Green is not the one that was at Langside Halls. Unfortunately, the one at the halls has disappeared. There are a few of these fountains dotted around the city.

When the halls were moved there, it would be slap bang in the middle of Crossmyloof village. Crossmyloof School is at the top of Deanston Drive (now flats), and the CMY symbol is over the door on The Corona.

Not Glasgow, but not far off. The Dreghorn and Perceton parish church was dismantled brick by brick and relocated to Japan in the early 2000s, it now operates as an upmarket wedding venue.
