I would argue Lopes deserves more credit for the fight. Short notice fight, short notice weight change in the middle of the night, short notice fight again and was offered his full pay without fighting but decided to decline and earn his pay.

They’re so right though. If the main is a hit, the card feels like it was much better. I was hovering around a C probably but when you factor in the co main drama and the finish by Poatan, it’s easily a B+ for me

Alex chasing title defenses does nothing for Alex's "all time great" career. At 37 years old no one will catch-up to Jones' 13 title defense record. On top of that, Ankalaev isn't the wrestler people who demand Alex to stay at LHW think he is. I'm convinced whoever thinks Ankalaev is an exceptional wrestler has never followed his career. Magomed averages 1 td per 15 minutes of fight time, and has a 31% success rate, with zero submissions and has about 1 finish due to ground and pound (in the UFC). Everyone is clearly caught into the hype that Magomed is Dagastani. Even if Alex fights Blaydes, that would be a much harder test for Alex. Curtis has 5x the avg of tds that Magomed has with 50% of success rate.

Mmmm ever tried looking at ali's twitter? You should because the guy is incapable of writing anything good and it always feels full of bs, which is the complete opposite of Islam's twitter who feels the same as Islam infront of cameras. Ali is just not very good with words and you can see it even in his interviews. The Hachiko tweet Islam roasted chandler with for example is impossible to have come from Ali he just isn't educated or cleaver enough to come up with something like that. Gane is a very bad fight for Pereira. Gane has been excellent against strikers, and though his grappling is terrible compared to Jones, he could use it against Alex to tire him out against the cage if he needed to, he'd be much too strong and athletic.
