This player is still in there man. Not just talking about the running, he has the throws too. He has to remind himself and get this confidence back. Watching him now, there's no question theres fear/doubt there now. Has to shake it and start letting loose, getting to the point where there's nothing to lose. If he gets the confidence back, he will be fine.
@wavxyshaun8799 Жыл бұрын
After the video my takeaway is the same as yours, he truly was playing free in college but also the offense was tailored to his strengths. One detail i noticed too is his base in college was much higher now its so slouchy and hunched over that showed me the bears aren't reminding him of the basics. Coaching matters especially for a qb at the pro level
@shadowkage843 Жыл бұрын
He doesn't have the luxury of 6 secs in the pocket at the next level. You can tell he's even struggling to throw with anticipation to throw the WR's open in alot of these plays. He maybe has 1.5 secs to throw right now. An when he has more time it's like he's shocked and freezes up. Here's to hoping he turns things around against Denver! First three games were against very good D/ST.
@wavxyshaun8799 Жыл бұрын
@@shadowkage843 i think he tends to peak alot too thats why he cant throw with anticipation he's so worried abt his line just letting guys come at him that he's not utilizing that time keeping his eyes down field and anticipating the route. Hence why he's so shocked when the pocket is clean, which also takes time away from the processing.

As a Bears fan, I recall watching JF highlights prior to the draft of 2021. I was relatively excited about the opportunity, that if selected, Fields would bring to the QB position for Chicago. Here the Bears and Fields sit 3 years later and the outcome has become the Jay Cutler 2.0 scenario. Meaning, a talented QB play maker has been broken by having no protection and running for his life from the opposing defense. While there are some concerns about Fields being able to read and audible against defenses, the talent, the arm, the will and want to win are definitely there in his character as a QB. Its the Bears though and the team really hasn't made the best ability to use Justin's strengths for the best outcome in their offensive scheme and play calling. If Ryan Poles is as smart and as good as he's made out to be, then draft Marvin Harrison Jr and build a supportive offensive line for Fields and give him the opportunity to be who we all know he can be! With that being said, I really dont see the need to draft Caleb Williams. He's mobile, has a strong arm, can read a defense and adjust but will have to still deal with a poor offensive line. The Bears already have an established QB in Fields with NFL experience. Add a play maker like Harrison Jr on the opposite side of DJ Moore, a few offensive line pieces and for the love of football, a play caller who's going to call offensive plays that actually use the offensive strengths to gain yards and get you a first down on a first down or a 2nd down instead of being in a situation where you're 3rd and 8 and calling a screen play that's going to get you -3 yards. It's been very frustrating watching the Bears waste away the talent of Fields the last 2 + years... There's been some improvement with the new front office as far as the pieces they've brought in and drafted but this 2024 draft and structure of what they do with this Bears team will be very telling of how the future is going to play out.

When the Chicago Bears build a solidified Offensive Line, they’ll unlock this Justin Fields. He was so used to playing behind an NFL ready OLine. Let’s get rid of these stop gap guys, i was hoping Ryan Poles being a former lineman himself would recognize this.

Watching This after watching Caleb highlights and being a huge Fields fan…Caleb’s footage left me speechless. Justin clearly has the ability to make some of the effortless throws that Caleb makes but it looks like all of Caleb’s throws are effortless. The arm talent and angles on the fly from Caleb Jump off the screen better than Fields but Caleb’s biggest ability seems to be his pocket awareness. It’s Mahomes-like and when you consider that Caleb is a better athlete than Mahomes it’s hard to not salivate. I’m going to miss Fields as a Bears fan and really hope that the Caleb on that tape I watched is what we’re gonna get on Sundays. ANYONE who watches these highlights and says that CB is a generational QB but Fields was seen only the 4th best QB in the 2021 draft, is not qualified to evaluate QBs. Also, if the Bears had an O-line that was as good at protecting their QB as OSU's was in these highlights, the Bears would have been legit contenders this year. Finally, there is no way that CB matches Fields as a runner.
