THe Sapphire Nitro+ Limited Edition does seem like it could be the winner of the bunch, but we will do a full reveal soon. The amount of RAM really has little to do with hashrate (as long as it's 4GB or more due to DAG file), and more to do with resell value and desirability. We can make any 4GB or 8GB RX 480/580 to mine at 28-31 MH/s without much issues. But, perhaps it has to do with the timing being much tighter on the modded 4GB cards, I find the 8GB cards easier to work with.

you really only need to supply power to the 8-pin. Case and point, the ASUS ROG Strix RX 580 T8G Top OC Edition 8GB only has 1 8-pin power input. We've tested all the cards which more than just 1 8-pin power input and they all work with just power to the 8-pin.

Hi, I have 3x Nitro+ Limited ed rx580 and 1 powercolor red dragon rx580, so a 4Gpu rig but I only get 81mh/s in total. That is 19/20 mhs per card. They are brand new,just finished building the rig. Any idea why? Thanks

Considering the lower voltage range of the 480, is it better to first flash an 580 to a 480 bios?

Yes please do show us the bios mod for this card as I just picked up 3(i got lucky finding them). Thing is I noticed right out of the box on all 3 I got, the bios switch was already in the forward position towards the end of the card where the plugs are. In the past, all my Rx 480's had the bios switches in the other position, I would then flip the switch forward in order to bios mod. I find it wierd my 580's already had the switch flipped. Was yours like this as well?

that was the case for us as well, in fact lately all the cards we got with the bios switch has it in the position towards the end of the card, I guess the manufacturers knows :)

Im started to think that luck plays a huge part on mining, because I hava a Gigabyte rx 580 Gaming 8GB one card you guys didnt considerate or maybe it could be take the same as the Auorus one, but Im getting 31.200 Mhs. Here are the specs, the card has been BIOS flash, the same memory changes as alwayd. It is reporting 73.0% of ASIC quality on HWiNFO. It is a Hynix memory. It is overclock on MSI afterburner with the next values: Core Voltage: -200 Power Limit: +0 Temp Limit: 90 Core Clock: 1200 Mem Clock: 2200 Fan Speed: 65 Reported temperature on GPUz with this values is 62c and last one it hasnt report any memory errors in HWiNFO in like 2 weeks it has been working. Oh and it is consuming 100w reported from GPUz.

When is the the update coming out with the final test? I have the sapphire nitro + RX 580 limited edition with crimson relive 17.5.1 driver and the 1325 core and 2250 men clock. I can not seem to get any higher hash rate than 27 MH/s Can you please help me. I 2 weeks ago I was able to archive 30 MH/s with this exact card and settings now I can't get higher than 27 what happened?

Starting my 1st rig, in term of performance (MH/s) will there a big difference between the Sapphire Nitro RX 580 8G Limited Ed. Vs the normal edition? I see that after fine tuning the GPU was able to reach the 31 MH/s while the GPU clock is at 1350Mhz...which the normal edition can reach as well even if its highest boost clock is not 1450 Mhz like the Limited edition. Where I'm from electricity is pretty cheap, so wattage is not a issue. GPU are scarce and there a difference of 60$x6 Total: 360$.... so I really want to control the budget.

You should do fine with most Sapphire Nitro+ GPUs. Just make sure first thing you check (on each GPU) is the RAM info, some batch uses Hynix RAM while others may use Samsung RAM.

Would definitely want the Samsung RAM....first is thought is was only available on the Limited Edition but I've seen BIOS mod postings from a Sapphire Nitro+ where Tech PowerUp GPU has shown Samsung RAM...so I guess there's no way for find out until you unbox the GPU

I'm going in to mining now and I'm wondering if I know everithing. Can you correct me if something I say is wrong, if I need to add something or if you have any tips. I need: - a motherboard that supports 6 GPUs (6 PSI-E slots) - a procesor that fits the motherboard and a procesor cooler (CHEAP) - RAM (Is 4GB good or should I get 8GB?)(CHEAP) - harddrive/SSD (SSD is probably the best, don't know how big it should be)(CHEAP)(cables to connect it to motherboard and PSU, are they usually included or do I need to buy them seperatly) - PSU (need at least 1000W, some people suggest 1200W)(need's good efficiency)(are enough cables usually included or do I have to buy extra) - GPU (good Mh/s, good power efficiency,, good cooling) - PSI-E risers (from big slots(16x) to small(1x) slots)(are enough cables usually included or do I need to buy extra, for connecting to motherboard and to PSU unit) - mining rig case (will probably improvise) If i need to buy anything else please tell me. As for the system I'm thinking of Windows 10 (does it need to be bought or can cracked do) and Claymore's dual miner. I don't really know how to activate the miner. Do you have any guides on it or suggest any guide? What currency do you suggest i dual mine with Ethereum? And what wallet do you suggest? yes a mobo with 6 PCI-E slots, with a compatible processor, 4 to 8GB of compatible RAM, 60+GB SSD, a PSU of 1000W for RX 470/RX570 or 1200W+ for RX 480/RX 580, 80Plus Gold rated or better, with your choice of GPUs, Powered risers, and a case of some kind. The PSU will list how many VGA it supports and will usually come with enough cables to support that number of VGAs. Windows 10 is fine, just make sure once you have the correct display driver installed to prevent Windows from installing new display drivers. We are making a guide from start to finish, multi parts, to teach people how to mine. We suggest dual mine with Ethereum, and the fastest way to setup a wallet is to register at one of the major exchanges such as Coinbase.

What is that bios switch? Do you need to have it turned on to be able to configure bios? I know that even if you buy the same GPU that there are some diffrences betwen them. Would configuring bios and overclocking only 1 GPU and then just do the same on other GPUs be good or is it better to configure bios and overclock each GPU again?

it's better to configure each card individually as they may behave differently even within the same batch. The bios switch tells us that the card has dual bios, you only needs to mod one of them, so if you want to game with original bios you can just flip the switch (while the computer is off) and boot to an unmodded bios.

My Sapphire nitro + does almost 32 Mh/s without any work (simple modding and overclocking) Red devil gold 8 GB does barely above 30.2 MH/s (samsung memory) Sapphire Nitro + 8GB is the way to go. My sapphire nitro did the same stock speeds as you reported but the mods it took were great compared to others. Hynix memory

the main difference between 4GB and 8GB are the vRAM timing in the bios, and you have to modify different timing value based on the type and amount of vRAM your GPU comes with.

no, a modded card will get you about 27 MH/s, and then you have to overclock the vRAM and underclock the core voltage and core clock to bring the power consumption (and heat essentially) down.

instead of coping the 1:1700 timing upwards, you need to copy the 1:1500 timing upwards for the 4G card

By the way another few good videos to make would be, How to Flash Bios etc, I think you could fit all that into 1 video since I heard its the same for all models of rx570s and same for rx580s etc. Another thing would be undervolting to use less wattage and still geta good hash rate. (something I"m having trouble with as well myself lately. and lastly a 3rd great vid would be dual mining (or more like 5-6 videos) Because rx 570s/580s can dual mine and supposedly it doesnt reduce ETH hash rate but Mine was reduced when I tried dual mining so not sure what the issue is sadly :/
