BTS doesn't really work like typical K-pop groups. They broke beyond that industry (not genre). They're global artists. For example, for j-hope's solo tour ticketing in the US yesterday, there were 100k people in the queue for a 19k capacity concert. And the ticketing was restricted to people with a US membership. This is just one member. Imagine for their hugely anticipated world tour as a group You could watch 'a guide to bts' by boracity magazine to know a little more both about the group and their music both as a group and soloists Little clarification: BTS debuted under BigHit Entertainment which became HYBE. But they're still under BigHit Music. It was expanded and restructured so now they have multiple labels under HYBE. HYBE was built because of BTS' success. If you combine the 7 members' shares, they are the 5th biggest shareholder of HYBE They have no collab with Blackpink whether as a group or as soloists

@marirezende84782 күн бұрын
@@StreetChamps Probably won't ever happen, the closest would be MAYBE a feature with both (and just one member from each) in some other artist's song, but I don't think that's happening either. BTS also rarely does big A list features, they usually do alternative, r&b or hip-hop collabs, the closest were Nicki, J. Cole and Coldplay I think. They also did collabs with Ed Sheeran, but only for composing. They're more selective in how they choose to collab.
@mickieb74172 күн бұрын
I agree, Black Pink members are doing their own things and the overlap of the priorities of these groups, who are under different labels, doesn't lead me to believe they would collab. I think Jennie and Lisa have their own labels now. I would be pleasantly surprised if it happened. Oh, there is a small fraction of BTS and Black Pink fans who used to try to war with each other. I hope that is over and those folks grew up or gave up. There is NO animosity between the artists at all. If you get hateful comments from anyone, just brush it off. Enjoy yourselves.

Not that I don't believe they are all handsome there is only one official visual and that is Jin. Jin was chosen originally for his looks and was going to college to become an actor when he was recruited. Their company gives the members their classifications not the fans. In the KPop industry members are given certain titles (like visual or leader). This does not mean they are all not capable.

anitaherbert. I don't agree with you. Just because it is the newest, "in" thing, I don't even like the Boracity guide and wouldn't recommend it, especially to a newbie. She talks way too fast, and the odd, short, badly edited clips are confusing and do not give a good introductory awareness of how multifaceted these exemplary gems are personally, and why there are so many reasons to appreciate them. It should be explained that there are *quite a few good "Who Are BTS?"* type videos to watch. Often the older ones fill in some information that is left out of the more recent ones, because there is so much about BTS' journey to discover. If something is beyond a person's attention span, they can divide up the viewings. Also, newbies should be informed early that there are many *BTS mv explanation videos* and articles that greatly help awareness of the many various references and complex elements in their mvs and lyrics when they can often seem quite random or even nonsensical.

@dl7596 it's not because it's the newest in thing. It's because having just sat through such a long guide I thought a short one would not be off putting. Personally I love Taylors guide. But BORACITY is always good and it comes from a slightly different angle. I know we are all passionate, but the last 2 years of constant attacks has got alot of ARMY really stressy and over reactive. We need to remember who we are and what we believe in or the haters win. Did you see J Hope at the GaLa des Pieces. Or his live after?💜

This isn't where they started "finding their sound"........ Idk why people think that about bts when they got into them. BTS has always had their sound because its constantly developing and changing. Their discography is diverse because they grow and explore new music. They don't have one sound. DNA and music like DNA is just a small percentage of BTS' music and "sound". BTS will always be influenced by hip hop, r&b, rock, ballads ect. Thats their roots and bts has never abandoned their roots or forgotten where they came from. You can see it through their recent music as well

6:38 ok first things first. I’m glad you guys have someone who is already a bit into BTS to help guide you and stuff. Small correction on the framing of what was said here “this is when they started finding their sound” The sound/visuals/personas that the members had when they debut isn’t any less them than what it was during DNA (2017) or currently(8 years later). It is exactly authentic to who they were as a group at the time and what the music was abt. You are not the same person in your 20s as you were in your teens. It’s not so much that “early BTS hadn’t found their sound” and more so that their sound grows, evolves and expands with them. The “bad boy” image wasn’t just an aesthetic, many of their songs were protest/rebellious songs abt youth in South Korea and their strict schooling system all written by the members themselves bc THAT is what they wanted to talk abt as boys/men who where either still in high school or just graduated. The group started being formed with underground rappers, and initially it wasn’t even supposed to be an “idol” group, they were going to be a hiphop group. So ofc their sound is much more old school hiphop in the early days since the only members who had experience with making/writing music were the rappers. But even so, from the very first album they already also had a lot of R&B which allowed the vocalists to also shine. DNA is not the first EDM track they have, Dope was probably the first one and it was released just one year after their “School trilogy” (“bad boy era”) ended. Again, their music grows and evolves with them slowly. And they never abandon a genre, they just expand their limits. 12:40 BTS debuted under BigHit Entertainment, which was a very small nearly bankrupt label in the kpop world. BP debuted under YG, one of the "Big 3" kpop labels. BTS, in their amazing career and trajectory paving the way for kpop to western/global markets on unprecedented scale, made BigHit grow so much that it surpassed every other kpop label (at least monetarily), and so the CEO of BigHit created Hybe. Hybe is a company, not a music label. Hybe owns a "multilabel system" which includes labels like Pledis, Belift, KOZ and BigHit Music (some labels were bought out, some were created from scratch). BigHit Music IS BigHit ent. just with a slightly different name. BigHit Music is the only independent label in the system and has basically only had 3 artists since forever, Lee Hyun, a soloist who is not even a kpop singer, BTS and TXT who debuted in 2019 but was started to form since 2014 (one year into BTS debut). All these labels work seperatly from each other, each have their own CEO, production teams, writers, choreographers, etc etc etc So, BTS didn't leave BigHit, ppl just become confuse abt what Hybe is. BTS members are also some of the biggest shareholders of Hybe, since the only reason hybe exists in the first place is thanks to them, the CEO gifted the members shares when they were creating the company. Hybe is kind of like Kakao if you know what that is, they own a large part of SM ent. (one of the big 3 kpop labels). But no one says that artists under SM are "kakao artists", so ppl really need to stop doing that with Hybe. BTS isn't a "hybe artist", hybe isnt a music label and BTS has never left BigHit. And in terms of contract, BTS has renewed their contracts 2 times. The standard contract is for 7 years from debut, but they always renewed in advance, so they did it in 2018, and they did it again in 2023. And this last time the contracts had to be approved by Hybe's board of directors which makes a lot of ppl believe it is a very unprecedented contract that gives them even more autonomy than they already had. 15:50 Lastly, BTS and BP music are VERY different from each other. For one, BTS music is 90% writen and composed by the members themselves since debut. Second, BTS has A LOT more music than BP and their music follows a progression throughout albums with different themes and subjects that reflect the member's lives and a message they want to send. Even as like a one off single, I cannot see them together. But BTS does collab with many korean artists, specially as soloists, some are in kpop, some aren't. Jimin collabed with Taeyang, Suga collabed with PSY and IU, J-Hope collabed with Yun-Jin, Jin collabed with Wendy, RM collabed with basically the entire indie/alt/rap music scenes of korea 🤣 And as many ppl here I HIGHLY recommend you react to 'a guide to bts' by boracity magazine next.

being the 'leader' of a kpop group is kinda like being the captain of a sports team. more like a sub-managerial role, coordinating between the team and the company, than about being the star performer. Re ages: Jungkook, the youngest, would have been 20 the year DNA came out (2017). Most of them will be in their 30s this year. 2 of them, J-hope and Jin, are out of the military right now. The rest will be discharged in June of this year! I think this era (the beginning of the Love Yourself trilogy era) is when bts really grew into themselves as adults. part of working on the whole love yourself concept I guess that they got a little more comfortable in their own skin. This is also the era when their fame really blew up in the west. I'd say that their sound has evolved with them over the years though. Sometimes when they were all teens/early adults it felt a little like they were trying to fit a role with the aesthetics etc. to match the kind of music they wanted to make. Like they had characters to play in the group, plus that whole badass boyfriend vibe you mentioned lol, but the content of the music has always been authentic to who they were at the time. They're more comfortable performing and experimenting with other styles now, but they still do a lot of harder songs! DNA is one of their poppier tracks - up there with Boy With Luv and the three english singles, but their hiphop roots are very present in their work still. Particularly in the B sides.

I'm sure someone already corrected you guys on this, but to explain it a little more. In Korea, they don't separate things like label, management company, PR, Financial, and all the other little things that it takes for an artist to be at least operational in the industry. Here in Korea they call them entertainment companies because everything is pretty much done in house, or in one company. It's not separated like how America's industry usually works. However, the Korean Music industry has been evolving and companies have started to at least define labels as a thing. Some companies have one Label, some have two under them. BigHit Entertainment- Which was BTS's company rebranded in 2021. They did a whole KZbin live presentation explaining it. So BigHit Entertainment no longer exists, it's been re-named HYBE. It's not a different company, just a new name and an upgrade from its previous status. Now as HYBE, they have this multi-Label company. BTS , Soloist Lee Hyun, and the 5-member group of TXT are in one of HYBE's Labels, a label that was named after the original company name- BigHit, they just added a Music at the end instead of entertainment because as a label, BigHit Music is responsible for only as much as a regular Label is. It can get pretty confusing, and trust me.. many are STILL confused by this. Usually because it's different than what is usual in the West. The west doesn't do entertainment companies like this for music, they have Labels and Management companies. HYBE has everything from Labels , a game development sector, Management, PR, financial department to help artists with any stocks they want or investments or just helping them set up accounts and to not overspend their money, and even their own production teams and a lot more. Jin is also the only official visual of BTS, but we all know that all 7 are visuals and a lot of us ARMYs are hoping that once everyone of them is back in June, they'll update their profiles(Profiles are a thing in the korean industry as well as some others around the world. These profiles just give basic info and some extra details like the height of an artist, their official position though BTS has never just stuck with their positions and it's become a thing since them to not have set positions- a lot of newer groups don't have positions.. not official ones anyway), because a lot of that information is old. Like.. RM being 5'11.. he was that height at 17, he's 30 now.. and he himself said he's just over 6 feet tall. Jin is about 5'11 now and Jimin we know is about the same height as Suga (both are about 5'9). So hopefully we get those updated. Sorry to info dump. Someone already mentioned that this wasn't their first EDM based song and that's correct. They have well over 300 songs now and they're not done yet. They'll all be back by the end of June (Suga gets released from Military last, around June 21st is when he should be finished) Thank you for giving them a chance. They're the start of the global K-pop boom and it's been dry without them so we.. including the industry have been eager for their returned. Articles all over Korea here are saying they expect K-pop to rise again because it's dwindled a bit these last few years(On the global scale, locally Kpop has continued to do as it does here). So again, thank you for the reaction. 💜

5 members of BTS are still serving in the military. But they should all be back as a group by June 21, 2025. Only 2 members have been discharged. Jin, the member that one of you mentioned you have seen before is the Visual of BTS. V, is also the visual. They started in 2013 with a bad boy/punk vibe because back then, that genre was popular. Sometime in 2016, they decided to change their looks and made them look softer which obviously what the fandom likes. But that being said, BTS have always had the same sound since their debut. Yes, please watch their debut performance, No More Dream. Worth also checking Bulletproof Pt2. Just some informaiton about Big Hit. In March 2021, Big Hit announced its rebranding into an entertainment lifestyle platform under the name Hybe Corporation. Big Hit is under the Hybe umbrella. BTS and Tomorrow x Together (TXT), another group are still under the Big Hit umbrella now called Big Hit Music. Other K-pop groups are also represented by the other Hybe management companies. But let me just say this, BTS made Hybe. Without BTS, there would not be Hybe at all. And no, BTS has not done any collaborations with Blackpink and I doubt they will. Thank you for your reaction. Looking forward to more BTS reactions from you.

They have all either completed or completing their mandatory military service. Jin and J-Hope finished last year. RM, Suga, V, Jimin and Jungkook finish in June. All have solo careers ablums as well. The cover all genres, well nearly all genres of music. They are intelligent, hard working and talented. They talk about the haters, they talk about self love, they talk about society and societal expectations and mental health. During COVID they would hold online concerts and try to reach their fans ( fandom name is ARMY). Many fans say listening to their lyrics has helped them through hard times. Their colour is purple. If you see purple hearts or hear "I purple you" it comes from something V said at a concert about purple being the last colour of the rainbow and means I will love and trust you for a long time or something along those lines can't quite remember (give me a break I'm a baby Aussie ARMY at 64 memory not as good as it used to be) I think Big Hit changed their name to Hybe.💜💜

Recently Min hee Jin who is the former ceo of Ador which is another label under hybe tried to takeover the company (hybe)it was a big legal fight between them. If min Hee Jin was successful the only company under hybe she wouldn't have control over would be Bighit Ent. So she wouldn't be able to control the bts and their young brother group txt. 💜 thankfully she lost

@nikkidigitalart2 күн бұрын
@@StreetChamps they have many official documentary like yet to come, burn the stage etc and if you're into reading they have a book called beyond the story: a 10 year record of bts. I would recommend the series The rise of Bangton. Though it is not a bio pic it does document the career journey of bts from debut to stardom. I'm sure other ARMY will soon recommend it to. 💜

Some people have been a bit harsh in the comments. Please don’t be discouraged, I think you’ll enjoy discovering the universe that is BTS. I’d definitely suggest watching one of the guides, either by Boracity or Taylor Mari, but also some videos that will give you a small taste of their range. Maybe start with ON Kinetic Manifesto, Black Swan, and something a little earlier like Danger, along with a vocal line ballad like The Truth Untold or House of Cards (live performances) and a rap line epic Outro: Tear (live from Wembley, black outfits). I did pause your reaction at one point to start a comment explaining more about the Big Hit/HYBE thing, the difference in approach compared with other Korean entertainment companies and how BTS have influenced the way the k-pop industry is beginning to loosen up but found it turning into a whole essay. Others have explained it pretty well.
@ruthfischer76152 күн бұрын
To understand DNA you need to know about their storytelling and know that this is the title track of "Love Yourself: Her" In the Wings album RM had still rapped "I wish I could love myself" so their next theme - over 3 concept albums - became "self-love" with a story from the first song to the last. Technicallly the Intro: Serendibity (performed by Jimin) begins the story which holds the fragile insecurity of having just met someone and the hope for this fantastic/mystical love. DNA comes after and this is this full over the top "Love" that must of been reincarnation/fate/destiny/written in the DNA - which is what first love is supposed to feel like. A reactioner I saw was a bit unsetteled and mentioned that this words are way over the top - he was right and this was there for a reason. The Outro already hints at why: because here the promise is made to do everything to make this love/relationship perfect.... even if you have to change yourself. That is where "Love Yourself: Tear" sets in with the Intro Singularity (performed by V). The song holds a heavy denial of why you feel uncomfortable while knowing that it will come up soon because everything that has been pushed into the unconscious is going to come up and it is going to hurt. "Fake Love" is the title track and here we go from the denial of why it hurts/why they are confused to the aknowledgement that this is not love and the pain destroys the realtionship with a confused partner that has no idea what is going on since they never met the real person. "Outro: Tear" (rap-line) is the confrontation with the shards of the destroyed relationship. So why did it not work? "Love Yourself: Answer" holds the Epiphany (performed by Jin) - which aknolwedges that you have to love your imperfect self first before you love others. "Idol" - the title track of the compelation album - is a full on celebration of self-love and their status as Idols and artists while mixing with traditional Korean stuff. This is deeper than the surface. And on the topic of sound: boracity magazine "the "i miss bts' old sound" excuse" Because sound is subject to change and you never know which sound you get with the next music drop. The chosen sound also has a lot to do with the message the song/album is going for. A song can never be understood just on it's own but in context with the others on the album. Since to "Love Yourself" you have to "Know Yourself" - the next albums were Jungian psychology "The Map of the Soul" - with centering around Persona, Shadow and Ego which was also a reflection on the title tracks. Fun Fact: The members were all born from 1992 (Jin) - 1997 (JK). Their debut was Hiphop because the rapline was Hiphop: 2 underground rappers - with one of them producing - before they were signed - the third a streetdancer with a crew with him even winning a national competition. Mind you - like a lot of Idol music - this was mixed with R&B. The vocalline actually has a collab with Snoop in a Benny Blanco song called "Bad Decisions" - it is pretty funny. Jin is WWH aka Worldwide handsome - aknowledged so by Coldplay even and yes, that is a running joke. "Dope" is a different song - so is "Fire". BTS label is still Big Hit but because of the restructure that label is Big Hit Music. HYBE is the business side of multiple labels and it grew from BTS success. K-pop contract are usually 7 years long - BTS has signed a thrid contract just before starting their manadatory military service (18 month - civil service for Yoongi/Suga/Agust D - that is one person - since he had a serious shoulder injury before his debut - is a little longer but he still leaves in June this year about 10 days after the other members) BTS is as big as the rest of K-pop put together - they bring ca. 5 Billion USD to the Korean GDP each year which is about 0,3% (when it is worse even 0,5%) of the national GDP. And "no, thank you" to BP - BP are performers with barely any creativity of their own - while BTS is successfull because they are different. Boracity magazine's Intro will help you understand more. I was not into "boybands" in the 90s - who were nowhere near as good as BTS - when I was a teen. J-Hope did a collab with J. Cole called "On the Street". BTS had a song with Juice Wrld (All Night) and Suga was on "Girl of my Dreams" with him. Jimin was on an OST "Angel Pt. 1" with NLE Choppa and Kodak Black. RM had a collab with Megan thee Stallion with "Neva Play". There is more - much more.

BTS are not your normal KPOP group as they are a team of 7 musicians 7 song writers 7 composers 7 producers one of which is an award winning Producer from other artists but what can you expect from the BTS Rappers who are from the underground Hip Hop scene. They don't have 'A' 'Sound. They do what they want when they want how they want. They make all their decisions because oh wait unlike most of the Kpop Industry BTS and the artists now part of HYBE have creative freedom. They all enjoy a variety of different music genre's so you'll never know what genre you'll get next or mix of genre's or what language they'll use of combination of languages. They of course sing/rap in Korean but also in Japanese and English. They also sing/rap about subjects not common within the Kpop Industry, and they their own private stories, T Yes they were all over 18years old including JK. Yes they are all extremely fit and yes they are all doing their military service 2 are now out and the other 5 return in June. less then 6months away. Watch out world the 'Kings' are returning.

This is kind of the forbidden comparison to make that people who don't really understand these groups always make, conflating BTS and Black Pink. I feel like The Sicilian from The Princess Bride "You've fallen for one of the classic blunders!" It's true BP is the biggest girl group and BTS is the biggest male group, but they are not really in the same ballpark at all. Also, the fanbases have beef for legitimate reasons I won't get into but believe me when I say there is years worth of real blood on the ground there. A lot of this is fueled by industry giants trying to crush indie industry outsiders BTS and using fanbases to attack them as part of that strategy. It's nothing to do with the artists themselves and is unfortunate. BP started with the backing of a massive label and all the benefits that comes with, and they also had a US label partnership from the start, which got them huge media play in the West. I cannot overstate the breadth of the paid media blitz they had to help launch them internationally. It was overwhelming and not organic. It was very excellent marketing though. Their company did their jobs well, so kudos to them. That has nothing to do with the girls, it's just a fact of how their company chose to use their resources to launch them. They also were not trained the same way as BTS. The girls are very talented, and they worked very hard to make it into their group from the pool of hopeful trainees at their label, but they were trained as performers, not artists. This is much more typical of KPop groups, and many groups function this way. The performers have little to no creative control. That's not uncommon with groups in the West as well. BP also has a less than stellar record for their live performance skills. Some of this may be down to passion for the art/or lack thereof, frustration with their label, lack of support or other factors. I don't blame the girls for all of that. There is a joke that BP is a Brand more and a Band and that YG kept them locked in the basement and just trotted them out for cash infusions with brand deals and appearances. They have done far more of those than performing. It's a pretty crummy way to use (abuse) their talent and potential but it's not unusual for YG. They may well have had better live performance skills and passion if they had better training and support and more creative control. Meanwhile, BTS has an incredibly unique underdog story and training history. They are self-made, starting on social media with a broke, tiny indie label as their only group and keeping their company afloat themselves. Their struggle was real and their passion for their art runs deep. They built their company from the ground up, facing massive hate and organized pushback from the industry insiders, to now be the biggest music entertainment company in S Korea, bigger than the previous big three labels combined. They had creative control and were the principal songwriters and producers on their work from the beginning, as this was the vision that their label head, Mr Bang, wanted to put together. Therefor he deliberately looked for artists with passion who also could write and produce. They were not trained to be polished persona performers but were encouraged to be themselves and for their music to tell their real, honest stories. Their training was unconventional, self-directed and immersive in songwriting and production as well as singing, rap and dance, encouraging their growth as artists. They describe those years as "year round music camp." Most of the members also play musical instruments. What might Black Pink have accomplished if they got the same type of training? We'll never know. Also, the level of BTS dancing is at the very top of the industry and the BTS dance line are regularly ALL named to the lists of top dancers in the industry. The same is true of their vocals and their rapping. They are just on another level. BP has very few albums and a total discography as a group of 32 songs. In their recent solo efforts, they have released 39 songs. The fact that they have so many more solo songs already is indicative that their label was holding them back, which YG is notorious for with their girl groups. Their solo work is also showing some artistic growth and expansion, which is great to see and I am happy for them. BTS has 20 group albums, as well as 15 (soon to be 16) solo albums among members and many, many OSTs, collabs and other singles for a discography many hundreds of songs deep. At last count, with remixes, I believe it was over 600 songs. Another thing that sets them apart is the insane diversity of their discography. Through their passion and continual musical growth and exploration they build on their hip hop foundation to do diverse styles like pop, pop-rock, rap/metal, EDM, Latin pop, citipop, various alternative styles, folk, funk, orchestral, ballads, RnB, jazz, neo-soul, and more. There is NO ONE in the global music industry that does as many styles and genres as they do, and they do them masterfully. Continued below....
@NanciBKКүн бұрын
Continued..... BP does not write or produce their own music. That's not that unusual in the global music scene. BTS does write and produce their music. BP music does not have much depth or meaning. This is not unusual in the KPop industry and not a knock on the girls. Their songs are club bangers, catchy and with driving beats and the kind of nonsense words and lyrics that appeal for that kind of music, easy to sing along and not a lot of thought required to enjoy. Many KPop songs are like that. BTS, on the other hand, has the deepest, most layered and nuanced discography I have ever seen from anyone. You can enjoy their music at a surface level but their storytelling, their raw honesty, their lyrical depth and multi-lingual wordplay is legendary. Their lyrics are studied in colleges around the world. Some of their lyrics were put in the National Hangul Museum in S Korea as a beautiful example of Korean poetry. Their music addresses real issues like mental health, self-love, loneliness and alienation, bullying, their fears and hopes, their struggles, socio-political and socio-economic issues, cultural and societal ills, national tragedies, class divides, etc. They speak truth to power even when it is incredibly dangerous for them to do so, such as when their government was regularly censoring and blacklisting artists. They use things like psychology, philosophy, religions and myths, various cultures, history, visual arts, literature and poetry, ancient civilizations, science, nature and more to inspire and tell their stories. BTS are also the most awarded artists in the history of the world, with well over 1500 awards and counting. They have also broken so many world records, including those set by Michael Jackson, Adele and The Beatles, among others, and breaking their own records, that they were put in the Guiness World Records Hall of Fame years ago. They were the first in history to replace themselves at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. And finally, while it is true that BP are the biggest girl group, if you put all of KPop industry on a pie chart, including net worth, ticket and album sales, streaming numbers, fanbase size, etc - BTS is more than half the pie by themselves, and every other group shares what is left. BP is just a slice out of that other side. BTS eclipses the industry entirely, which is poetic justice for never really fitting in it and being shunned, blacklisted and mistreated by it. BP have been industry darlings while BTS had to fight tooth and nail even for recognition and respect, yet BP does not sell out the stadiums that BTS does. BTS succeeded in spite of the industry, not with its assistance. BP choose prominent artists to collab with for a sales boost, which is a typical industry tactic. BTS often choose indie artists and unknowns they stumble on because they are choosing the best person for the song/sound they are creating. Some of the huge and prominent artists whom BTS have collabed with have approached BTS and asked them for the collab, like Ed Sheeran, Coldplay, Usher, etc. Also - NO, there is not a JT in BTS. That is one of the things that makes them different. EVERY member is a super star in their own right. They are the only group in the history of the world to have 7 members who are multi-million sellers as soloists. The previous record was The Beatles, with three members who were million sellers as soloists. Suga's Agust D solo world tour in 2023 was the biggest and highest grossing tour for a solo rapper in the history of the world. Jungkook and Jimin dominate on Billboard, even while gone in the military. j-hope's solo headline show at Lollapalooza in 2022 broke their record attendance for the festival by more than double, with 105,000 people at his show. RM's most recent album has been receiving massive critical acclaim from many countries, including awards at film festivals for his MVs. V's recent holiday songs kicked Mariah Carey off the top of the holiday charts. All of them have massive magazine covers, and luxury brand deals as soloists. ETC....they ALL do things like this as soloists and all of them are heartthrobs too. The diversity of the group's solo endeavors does lead to members being popular in different ways though. Jimin and Jungkook, for instance, are the most unapologetically pop members and have the most songs in English, and so they have the most fans among the general public in the West who like pop music. Are they all over 18? Well this MV was 7ish years ago in 2018, but yes, they were then as well. Jungkook, the youngest, would have been 20 in this MV. Jin, the eldest, would have been 25. Their ages right now are RM: 30 Jin: 32 Suga: 31 j-hope: 30 Jimin: 29 V: 29 Jungkook: 27 All of them are in the military right now except Jin and j-hope, who finished their service and were discharged in the latter half of 2024. Jin then released an album called Happy late last year, and j-hope is preparing to drop an album to launch a solo world tour next month called Hope on the Stage. The other 5 members will be discharged this June. Also BTS fanbase is not just young girls. Their fanbase is rather unique in their diversity. It's another thing they are known for and it's because of the depth of their art and messaging and who they are. Their fans are majority 30+ and at least 1/3 are male.

BTS are the biggest group in the world. The group consists of 7 members (including 3 rappers and 4 vocalists) from South Korea. 1. RM ( rapper, leader ) September 12, 1994 - 30 years old 2. JIN ( vocalist ) December 4, 1992 - 32 years old 3. SUGA/AGUSTD ( rapper) March 9, 1993 - 31 years old 4. J-HOPE ( rapper) February 18, 1994 - 30 years old 5. JIMIN ( vocalist ) October 13, 1995 - 29 years old 6. V ( vocalist ) December 30, 1995 - 29 years old 7. JUNGKOOK ( vocalist ) September 1, 1997 - 27 years old As a group BTS have a huge amount of songs 300+ (only 3 of their songs as a group are entirely in English). As BTS and also ad solo artists they collaborated with a lot of people such as: Coldplay, Fall Out Boy, Halsey, MAX, Lauv, Anderson .Paak, Becky G, Snoop Dogg, NLE Choppa, Kodak Black, Desiigner, Megan Thee Stallion, Latto, Juice WRLD, Wale, Warren G, Nicki Minaj, J.Cole, Little Simz, Steve Aoki, Jason Derulo, Kid LAROI, Central Cee, Erykah Badu, Muni Long, Lil Nas X, Charlie Puth, Usher, (+more) They are all songwriters and music producers, most of their work is very meaningful, so reading the lyrics is really important. They make music in a lot of different genres and styles (Hip-Hop, R&B, Pop, EDM, Latin Pop, Ballad, ...+). Each of the members is very different, and all of them make their own solo stuff so depending on what kind of music you are interested in, you really have a lot to choose from. If you want to learn more about them, I highly recommend you the 'boracity magazine' channel [ www.youtube.com/@boracitymagazine ]

I’m a 56 year old ARMY since 2018. Welcome to the wonderful world of BTS where every genre applies. For their early stuff I suggest their debut song No More Dream, Attack on Bangtan, War of Hormone, Dope, and Fire. 2 of them, Jin and J-Hope are out of the military and the rest will be home this summer. Taehyung got into the Special Forces unit. Jin is the other visual and was actually recruited off the street because of his looks alone. He, V and Suga are my main biases for different reasons, but mostly for their personalities and voices. V’s voice is like velvet and Jin’s is incredibly powerful. Suga raps like no other. They are also incredibly intelligent and very talented musicians, writers, composers and producers. Of course all of them are but those 3 remind me of certain special people in my life. BTS is not like girl groups. Visuals an outdated term, but Jin was the original visual. He was selected getting off of a bus solely because of his looks. They all are extremely talented. No JT in the group. All seven have successful solo careers. Does N’Sync? DNA was released in 2017. The group was initially established as a hip hop group. The CEO changed to idol aka K-pop group because more longevity. They have creative freedom. They write, produce, direct videos, develop group concepts. Ya’ll learn together because the young lady doesn’t know much current information about them. Bias is the term for favorite. BTS is not K-pop. Almost 300 songs in their discography. The have Hip hop, RB, EDM, Blues, rap, pop, Latin pop, etc. The leader refers to the liaison between management and the group. More responsibilities. His name RM aka Kim Namjoon. Watch the latest BTS intro video. They are still with BigHit, BigHit has become a subsidiary of the parent Label HYBE. HYBE is the house BTS built. BH rebranded to HYBE. The guys own part of the company so they have never left their company. Their company is now a billion dollar conglomerate who is number one in SK.

Hii.. I hope u guys read this. I just wanna say that, people hardly know this but BTS has a very strong Hip Hop element on their music, especially old school hip hop. 2 of the members came from underground rappers (RM and Suga/Agust D) and 1 from hip hop street dancer (j-hope). So yea.. they're really good. And they really were and still are the students of the game. This list right here are some of their best songs and tracks. Please react to these : 1. *Monster* by RM (og track from Grown Simba, J.Cole) 2. *Hip Hop Phile* (here they pay homage to the legendss. Talkin abt Tupac, Biggie, JayZ, Nas, Rakim, Eminem, Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg (also specifically talkin abt the album Illmatic, The Chronic, Doggy Style and 2002 too) they also mentioned KRS-ONE, Kendrick, Gang Starr, Pete Rock, CL Smooth, J.Cole and a lot more. And they basically telling their stories of how they got deep into the culture). 3. *Cypher pt.1-4* by the Rap Line (straight up Cyphers, and pt. 1-3 they use some old school Boom Bap typa beat. And also a spoiler, in pt. 2 one of the member did a One Piece reference) 4. *Joke* by RM (og track by Run The Jewels, Oh My Darling) 5. *Born Singer* (og from Born Sinner, J.Cole) 6. *Agust D* and *Daechwita* by Agust D 7. *Persona* by RM (mixed of hip hop and a lil bit of rock) 8. *Sexy Nukim* by Balming Tiger ft. RM 9. *Ddaeng* by the Rap Line (traditional instruments, mixed with trap beat) 10. *Snooze* by Agust D 11. *Strange* by Agust D ft. RM 12. *Change* by RM ft. Wale 13. *Please Don't Die* by RM ft. Warren G 14. *Look Here* I suggest to check out the lyric videos, or MV with lyrics. Bcs their wordplay is amazing, and also deep. They made musics/songs that talked about almost everything that existx in the world. From friendships/family, politics, the music/entertainment industry, self love, deppresions, girls, their stories (from the beginning to now), and a lot more. These tracks right here serve Vocal, Raps, Lyrics/stories, instruments, just high quality productions. And honestly some of them are pretty underrated and TRUST ME.. just TRUST MEE You will love them Btw thank you

Thanks for reacting to this older song of BTS. BTS has no set genre - they write/compose/produce their own music (not common at all in KPOP). All 7 are fulfilling their mandatory military service - 2 have completed it and the 5 others will finish in June of this year. They will be back together as a group with a new album and a World Tour once out. They have a discography of over 400 songs, 1400 awards world-wide and have broken over 30 Guinness Book of World Records. If you like hip-hop, rap, rock, EDM, R & B, Neo Soul, Ballads, pop, Latin pop you will find BTS songs you will love. They all have solo work as well as group work. They are 7 of the kindest, most humble and generous people you will ever find. Which accounts for their fandom of over 100 million. They've been together since 2010-2012 and debuted in 2013. They currently range in ages of 27 to 32.

Glad to see that you are opening yourselves to the amazing k-pop scene, although BTS is no longer considered kpop. Please note all the information that the ARMY has provided, it is just the tip of the iceberg as far as BTS are concerned. To give yourselves a taste of the breadth of their discography may I suggest some of the following: Mikedrop Steve Aoiki remix: On Kinetic Manifesto: Black Swan: Your eyes tell: Butterfly. Rap line, Ugh: and the 4 cyphers: Vocal line, House of cards: The Truth Untold: these are just for starters! Just a piece of advice, kindly given.....when you start reacting to a group as popular as BTS, it is to your own benefit to do a little more research.....thousands of die hard fans will be listening to you, and you are more likely to earn our respect if you are more aware of the basic background. We are after all the ones who will end up following your channel if you put yourselves in a position to understand where the artists are coming from. Look forward to hearing more from you.

The Cyphers, all of them 1-4 😊 It's their comeback rap songs to haters who gave especially RM and Suga (aka AgustD) flack for going from underground hip-hop to BTS.. Truth is they were the two First members and chose it freely, so all that hate was for nothing but jealousy of someone better at rapping then they will ever be.. 😅

There is a video on KZbin where BTS asks all the men in the stadium to yell. You should have seen the faces of the BTS members, they were shocked. BTS has a very diverse fan base. I am a very proud 60-year-old ARMY. They are more than great singers and dancers. They are amazing human beings. If you watch The Rise of Bangtan series you will see what I mean.

People already explained, but they don't have a specific sound, and their debut songs are as much their identity as the new releases 😊 Five of them are still in the military, they will all be released in 5 months.

The one piece of advice that I can give you is that if you "judge" (or analyze, or consider) BTS music by its title tracks only, you will never see/understand the depth and breadth of their discography or their talent. Our friend the Tae bias in your group mentioned that DNA was representative of their new sound, but I would disagree with that. The Love Yourself albums are all unique within themselves, and the three albums that came after them - Map of the Soul: Persona and Map of the Soul: 7, as well as BE, were quite different from the Love Yourself albums, in theme, sound, and more. The title tracks will always be the songs they feel are the most approachable by the general public, but the beauty of BTS's music, in my opinion, is in the diversity of their b-sides. On the same album with DNA, for example, would be Mic Drop (the other title track, actually), Pied Piper, Intro: Serendipity, and Go Go (among others) - which are all different from DNA. On the next album, Love Yourself: Tear, the b-sides include Intro: Singularity, Outro: Tear, Airplane Pt. 2, 134340, The Truth Untold, and Love Maze. NONE of those songs are like each other, let alone like DNA. Even the title track off that album - Fake Love - isn't like DNA at all. On the Map of the Soul albums, b-sides like Louder Than Bombs, Filter, Interlude: Shadow, Dionysys, Inner Child, Outro: Ego, UGH! and more are different from each other and from DNA. Its title tracks - Black Swan (which has a companion orchestral version with a contemporary dance performance video) and ON are not only different from DNA, they are different from DNA as well. Life Goes On and Dynamite - the title tracks of BE - couldn't be more different from DNA or from each other, and the b-sides, again, are also different from each other and DNA - Telepathy, Blue & Grey, Dis-ease, and others. I think you get my point. 🙂

I think you guys should also check out BTS's new solo albums, BTS always works as a group and they said that even when they were writing songs, they talked to each other a lot and tried to put their ideas into songs but during their solo careers, they released an album that focused more on their own style, you should definitely watch all of them. Also, if you are going to listen to a BTS song, you should definitely watch the lyrics and explain videos because it can sometimes be difficult to understand the meaning behind the song. 😁 BTS' youngest member is Jungkook, born in 1997, and the oldest member was born in 1992

i paused the video at 6 to write a essay, but deleted it. First of all thank you for listening to BTS, they are the biggest group in the world and the reason you will learn in ur journey :). I see we hv a BTS fan out of 3 and a Taehyung BIAS (am Tae bias too), but - request you all to start with a intro guide, cos there is alot of misinformation. I will say just 1 thing, give them a chance without prejudice, they will save you, they will hug u, they will become part of your life. Edit: BTS fans are just BTS ARMY, 90% do not listen to kpop, We are BTS fans and not kpop fans. (example: Just cos i vibe with Drake, doesn't mean am a Canadian Pop fan, same way, if i am bumping BadBunny doesn't make me LatinPop fan). Fanbase is called BTS ARMY :) BTS are BigHit (label) artist, they built HYBE which today has lot of artists. They are label mates with JustinBieber, Ariana, BlackEyedPeas (Hardwork, Respect) Edit2: Am sorry but i don't wanna sound arrogant or disrespectful, but we have BTS who are hardworking, challenging norms and govt, activist group calling out the wrongs of the society and teaching people how to loveyourself, write, compose, produce their own artwork, music, MVs, shows and whatnots, Build an Trillion dollar Multinational company with multi Music Labels, gaming platforms and etc. AND then there is a media and company backed group who swag abt money and breakups?? i guess its like you are asking Eminem to collab with MGK (kinda hilarious)

This song was released in 2017, 7 years ago. The group debuted in june 2013 so all are well over 18 now! First song, very hip hop is No More Dream. BTS made so much money that Bighit established the Hybe company. Initially Bighit was a very small, half bankrupt company, now Hybe with Bighit is the biggest media company in Korea and has international reach. All down to BTS success. Watch Mic Drop, Steve Aoki remix On kinetic manfesto No More Dream, their first ever MV Fake Love.

They are still with the same company; HYBE is the label BTS built. BigHit BECAME HYBE which then expanded into a multi label company. BigHit Music is UNDER Hybe Labels and the only artists on BigHit Music are BTS, TXT, and Lee Hyun. No, there will never be a BTS/Black Pink song

About the BTS sound: Various BTS songs have been influenced by: hip-hop, calm & chill, rhythm & blues, EDM, tropical house, acoustic blues, funk & soul, stadium anthems, Afrobeat, traditional Korean instruments, soulful jazz, and many varieties of pop including Latin pop.💃 In many - not all! - BTS group songs you can find these features: * 3 rap sections in the song, so we hear from each rapline member: RM, SUGA, and j-hope. Each writes his own rap lyrics, has a unique vocal quality and unique style. Melodies, harmonies, and ad libs are by the vocal line: * Powerful belting, strong high notes, lovely "silver voice": Jin * Airy and delicate yet strong upper-register voice. Unique, defying description: Jimin * Baritone, sometimes velvety, other times growling and raspy: V * Strong pop-star voice, beautiful "perfect pitch". Supplies most of the harmonies and ad libs: Jungkook. Regardless of genre, you'll often find the above components in a BTS group song, but not always! HOWEVER, in some other songs, the baritone hits amazing high notes, the delicate voice has a commanding lower tone, the belter sings delicately, and the pop star raps. Sometimes nobody raps; it's just the 4 vocalists singing. Other songs are pure rap, with no vocalists. But all 3 rappers have lovely singing voices we hear in rare cases! The things they do always are: love each other like family, love seeing each other succeed, love music, love performing, love giving good messages, and love the fans, ARMY. ----------------- 👍 Here's my vote for Boracity Magazine's "a guide to bts (for haters, skeptics and non-pop fans)" It's very recent, very good, and talks about their MUSIC. 💯

Actually, with the exception of Jungkook, all the members are 30 and older. Five of the seven are still serving their mandatory military service and will be discharged in June. This song is not indicative of their "style" or their complete discography. BTS does just about any style and genre of music that you can think of. And, surprisingly to many people, nearly 30% of their fan base is over 40 years old! Keep digging into BTS... you won't be disappointed! 💜

BigHit is a subsidiary of HYBE. HYBE is now a global agency with units in America and South America representing artists such as Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, among many others. It's important to note that HYBE started as BigHit, a small, struggling agency that almost went bankrupt. BTS was their only client at that time, and they fought just to get a break! BTS built BigHit/HYBE with their hard work and success. Please watch Taylor Mari's Guide to BTS. It tells about their history, and you'll get to know the members. Thank you for your reaction. 💜

Thank you for reacting to BTS! Our boys are so talented and can’t be contained to the KPop/boy band label. Their music is diverse and meaningful! Just for some clarification 5 members are currently enlisted in the Korean Army. They are all due to be discharged in June of this year. One member JHope (who discharged this past October) will embark on a world tour starting in February and hit several US cities. They are still with Big Hit but HYBE is now their parent company who owns Big Hit and many other labels. Please keep reacting to BTS! I would suggest Black Swan, Blood Sweat & Tears, Dope, Pied Piper/Dimple, The Truth Untold, House of Cards or Ddaeng for future reactions! Borahae 💜

BTS is way over 18! But I understand why you might think that since they look so young. 😂 They’re now in their late twenties, with some in their early thirties. In this video, I believe they were all in their twenties. They actually started as a hip-hop group and now sing all types of genres. If you're serious about getting to know more about them, I’d suggest starting with the guide to BTS and watching their early videos before moving your way up. Please don't be like others and start with their latest videos.

MINI KOREAN LESSON TIME!! Because you brought it up. The word that you said sounds like "young money" is 영원히 -pronounced as "yong-won-hee" (yong rhyming with long), meaning "forever". And the other word you mentioned is sometimes misinterpreted is either 네가 - pronounced "nee-gah", which means "you" or 내가 - pronounced "neh-gah", which means I/me. You can see why it can be heard wrong if you're uninformed. Just for your reference. Also, just a correction on the label thing. They have NOT moved to a different company at ANY point in their career and are under the same company they have always been under. The name just changed. It can be a bit confusing to explain, and I'm sure someone else can explain it better than me, but "BigHit Entertainment" was the name of the company at the time they debuted, which is why most of their videos have that logo. Back in, I'm trying to say 2021, the CEO, Bang Si-Hyuk, created "HYBE Corporation", which is a huge company that now has multiple labels under it, including "BigHit Entertainment", which was re-named "BigHit Music". That's grossly oversimplified, but it's still the exact same company that they have always been under since their trainee days, but BTS made the company so much money that they sort of...expanded...if can call it that. LOL. Flex. Since I would love for you guys to see how good they are live as well, I'm going to recommend the video I usually do for newbies. It's the 2021 BTS FESTA Room Live. "FESTA" is essentially the annual 2-week celebration of BTS' debut in June where they release a bunch of never-before-seen behind-the-scenes content, dance practices, usually a new song, fun performances, and other random things. It's a fun time. 2021 was their 8th anniversary, so they released a live performance featuring a medley of 8 songs from different albums across their career at the time. It really shows a great range of what they are capable of as a group and shows off their diversity really well, as well as their 100% live vocals. It a great teaser into their discography. And to top it all off, all the songs are B-side tracks, so not their main, popular title tracks. It goes to show that even their non-title tracks are truly top notch. As each song starts, it gives you the song name, as well as what album it came from and the year it was released at the bottom. I hope you check it out! I'm linking the video from BangtanSubs, which includes subtitles for their random comments in between songs. kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y3uQeoBonbF1i8Usi=LdTW44s7Ze2KNosR You guys all have really great energy, and I look forward to seeing you guys dive deeper into BTS. They are truly talented, and I think you'll find a lot of their music to fall in love with. Borahae!!

Yes the 'Leader' is really the 'Spokes Person' and deals a lot with their company BigHit/HYBE these men took a tiny company BigHit that was going bankrupt to become the biggest not only Biggest Global Group but the biggest Kpop Company now Called HYBE that bough out Scouter Brau's label and other smaller label's not just in South Korea but in the USA as well. HYBE makes sure each sub label gets the finance and resource's they require.
@ericweinman944717 сағат бұрын
Big Hit was a small low resource label centered around one group project, BTS, that existed totally outside the Big 3 corporation Korean recording industry mainstream. BTS through years of creating quality multi-genre presentation was able to grow bigger than any other K Pop group, ultimately despite starting as "bottom" dwellers becoming revenue wise around half the Korean market. Big Hit as a label dissolved becoming the HYBE corporation creating new groups and absorbing others. Big Hit now is a division of multidimensional HYBE. So to correct your statement, BTS did not leave Big Hit, merely was so successful as to spawn a new corporation with themselves within. It now is larger than any of the previously established Big 3 corporations which had oligopoly power in the industry. You name dropped Black Pink. They were created by the successful Big 3 YG label which had K Pop's previous kings, Big Bang, amongst other groups for resourcing. As to Black Pink working with BTS, that would be a no with good reason and their large fanbases are not overly compatible due to a foolhardy history of fans competing. The groups actually are quite different in many ways, but Westerners always want to put them in the same box. As to specific Black Pink members collaborating with specific BTS members on their solo projects, that potentially might be good but would have to be designed so one doesn't overshadow the other either by default or courtesy.

This is not really the start of their new sound. Every album release is the start of their new sound. Or to be more precise, every song is the start of their new sound. There is not a JT in this group. There are seven JT's. The proof? They started releasing their own solo albums almost 8 years ago and did not break up. Some have even done solo tours but they did not break up. There is no member that's about to leave the group and go out on his own. They signed a new seven year contract that starts in 2025 before they even left for military duty. There is a member with the most commercial "American Audience" appeal, but each member has plenty of it as well. I recommend the "Guide to BTS for haters, skeptics and non-k-pop fans". It will help you break free of the pre-conceived ideas that have been drilled into you by the western music industry. And you might find a fave too! Welcome to the rabbit hole, everyone!
