BTS is universal music. They don’t just make songs or music focus only one subject. BTS also have different styles of music and video. You’re just missing out a lot of their art work. All of their works are masterpiece!! If BTS do the same kind of music and video only to serve people’s interests then that is NOT BTS!!

BTS are not wasteful. In their "Permission to Dance" MV, there were purple balloons that were let go of to float into the sky... behind the scenes shows that they all had a tether line specifically to prevent loosing the balloons on the world. They are philanthropists and donate time and money to a lot of different causes. If you ever have a question as to whether or not they did the right thing... you can be sure that they did. Almost everything in this MV is practical. The floor really fell out from under JK's feet, water really poured around Jimin, and fire was really in the room with Suga... BUT, they DID use CGI to make the fire look bigger, the flower petals floating with JK, and the cell phone turning to sand with V. BTS has a fictional universe they created that is told through multiple MVs, webtoons, mobile games... and this MV is part of that BU (Bangtan Universe). The Snickers are a part of J-hope's storyline in the BU. Absolutely nothing BTS does/puts in an MV is a coincidence. You may not understand why it's there, but know there is a reason.

All of the members of BTS have their own specific roles, which is why sometimes you see one more than another and why they switch between each other in their MVs and performances. Here is a breakdown of each of their positions and all of that. Keep in mind the positions, in its simplest terms it’s…. Main > lead > rapper/vocal/sub vocal. Keep in mind as well, all members have songwriting, producing, and composing credits, especially RM, Suga, and J-Hope. Jungkook: Jungkook's roles in the group are: Main Vocalist, Lead Dancer, Sub Rapper, Center of the Group, and Maknae. He is the main vocalist, as he is the best, most stable, and flawless while singing and often has the most parts in a song. That’s because his voice fits almost every kind of song. As well as being known for being really stable while singing and dancing at the same time, which all members are pretty good at, JK excels in this. He can sing softly for a ballad or powerfully when needed. To add, he also sings most of their vocal guides for their songs. To add, he's also been seen stepping in for the other singers and some of the rappers to help them when they’re sick, as well as giving other members advice on vocal techniques and things like that. He’s also the lead dancer, meaning when the group is dancing together as a whole, Jungkook is usually the one front and center, expected to lead everyone through the dance (you will see this in a lot of their choreography). Along with that, he’s one of the sub-rappers - think of him as rap support, a pinch hitter when needed to help fill in if someone is sick, even though his main focus is of course vocals. But along with his positions on stage, Jungkook also holds two special positions that have nothing to do with his stage performance. To mention briefly, he’s the maknae of BTS, which means the youngest of the group. As mentioned above, as the center, or “face” of the group, Jungkook is the one expected to bring the charm offstage. In interviews, he’s the one cracking jokes and putting everyone at ease, and often appearing on variety shows to participate in skits and charm the audience. RM: RM's roles in the group are: Leader and Main Rapper. In K-pop bands, there’s a special role known as the leader role. That’s where RM comes in, usually one of the older and more mature members of the group. They’re the ones who look out for the rest of the group and tend to field the questions and scrutiny from the press; in other words, they’re the spokesperson of the group. Along with being the team leader and de facto head of the group, RM is also the main rapper. The main rapper is the rapper who gets the lion’s share of the rap verses and is largely considered the most technically skilled rapper of the group. They’re often responsible for writing the rap sections in the music. Jimin: Jimin's roles in the group are: Lead Vocalist and Main Dancer. Jimin, BTS's main dancer, started dancing from a young age. When he was in middle school, he attended Just Dance Academy where he learned popping and locking. He later studied contemporary dance at Busan High School of Arts. His voice is usually pretty distinctive because it's on the higher range, with his ability to hit high registers. As mentioned before, Jimin studied contemporary dance in school, which is shown in every performance where you can see him sacrificing his entire body for the choreography. Occasionally, he’ll only be a backup vocalist in order to save his breath for the big dance numbers where he solos. Jin Jin's roles in the group are: Vocalist and Official Visual. As a vocalist, Jin doesn’t normally get a huge piece of the songs, but he has started to get more than what he used to, which is cool to see because his voice is great! He’s there to support Jungkook and Jimin vocally, but he normally only has a few lines in some of the songs, especially some of the older ones, as well as dancing. However, Jin has a particular role that makes him indispensable to the group: the visual. It’s similar to the face of the group, but where the face of the group is the center of attention in interviews thanks to their personality and charm, the visual of the group is considered the most aesthetically pleasing member of the group according to K-pop idol standards. V: V's roles in the group are: Dancer, also considered a Lead Dancer in retrospect, Vocalist and Visual. Last but not least is V. As the second-youngest member of the group to Jungkook. V possesses a baritone singing voice that has received a generally positive critical reception, with particular praise for his vocal range and "husky" tone. He gained wider vocal recognition for his performance of his solo song "Stigma” and was praised for his falsettos that showed off his vocal range and unique musicality. V's tonality on "Singularity", the opening track of BTS' Love Yourself: Tear. As a performer, V's style is known for its "duality", or his ability to evoke various emotions on stage. J-Hope: J-Hope's roles in the group are: Lead Rapper, Dance Leader, and Main Dancer: Just like Jimin, J-Hope is considered the main dancer of the group, so he often gets solo dance breaks, or is performing the hardest part of the choreography in any given dance. He and Jimin trade off there depending on the song, or swap back and forth. He’s also lead rapper, second to RM, and often begins rap sections before passing the torch to RM. He’s quite skilled as a rapper but splits his performances between handling the choreography and the rapping, filling in where needed. While he is known to have a bright and sunny personality, when it comes to performance, he becomes strict and serious. He not only guides the members but also manages the group's dance performance and helps them do better on stage, which is where being the Dance Leader comes in. Suga: Suga's roles in the group are: Lead Rapper. You know the drill. He and J-Hope manage the secondary rapping after RM. Originally a songwriter, he has written and produced a number of tracks on all of BTS’ albums, helping RM in the creation of their music since the first album. These days, in addition to his involvement with BTS, Suga performs as a solo rapper under the alias Agust D, which is a play on his stage name and a reference to his hometown. He's also a commercial producer and produces music for other artists as well. In April 2022, Suga produced and was featured on "Gangnam Style" singer Psy's comeback song "That That."

Imo, each member have their time to shine in the mv although Jungkook usually has the most lines and even in the background for most of their songs. Each members have solo songs as well where you can check out.

The tone of my comment is meant to be matter of fact, not harsh at all. Jimin gets some of the MOST screen time and RM gets some of the least. I’m not sure what you have watched, but that was a shocking comment. I would say Jung Kook and Jimin followed by V get the most screen time and it makes sense because JK is the main (highest) vocalist, lead dancer (right below main) and center. Jimin is a main dancer and lead vocalist. And V is the only other member who is both in the vocal and dance line, so they are you going to be front and center the most.

Yeah, that comment honestly took me off guard. Depending on the mvs, I feel like the maknae line/vocals get way more center and screen time altogether than RM/rapline and Jin. I was really confused by the tone when speaking of RM.

@@PositiveComplex I actually got what she meant. When it comes to facial screen time you barely see jimin and jhope. Black swan is a perfect example. Jimins face is on the screen the least but you would swear he got a lot of screen time. What we actually see is him dancing, he’s in movement or in the background being dynamic. Whereas when JK, V or the hyung line is on camera you 90% of the time see their face as screen time. Jhope is another one when he’s not rapping you mostly see his movements on screen as opposed to his face.

@@danellymani205No, I understand, especially in that mv where Jimin is dancing but it was off putting hearing someone singling out and complaining about RM as getting screen time as a negative (which we know is definitely not always the case, especially in their later works). It was just worded very poorly against RM.

This was my first exposure to BTS a year and a half ago and I became obsessed and went down the rabbit hole. The snickers bar is referencing the BU storyline of j-hope's fictional character being abandoned by his mom at an amusement park after she handed him a snickers bar. All the symbolism in this video ties back to their fictional universe. Suga's character supposedly started a fire and killed his mom (not true but he was rumored to in the BU), jimin tried to drown in a tub hence the water flooding, etc. So many other references.

hey!!! enjoying your journey so far, I feel like the other commenters answered your questions pretty well but just an fyi, if you ever are curious, bts releases behind the scenes of their music videos that show the sets and the process of filming and a ton of other behind the scenes content called Bangtan Bombs that you can watch if you ever wanted!!! also also also I highly highly recommend checking out b-sides songs (songs that arent the title track/main song of the album) which typically dont have music videos but i think you would also enjoy.. also other note, if you like their choreo, they have dance practices that showcase the entirety of each songs choreo for soooooo many of their songs!! happy viewing!! also if you give me your typical favorite musical genre or fav artists i could help recc some songs if youd like lol

to answer your questions. Yes the water and fire are real. The snickers bars were fake bars. So no one got to eat them. BTS have a lore (Bangtan Universe aka BU) which runs through many of their mvs and this is one of them. So the water, fire, snickers, flower petals etc relate to the lore storyline.
