BTS songs can be performed in subgroups and as soloists which allows for a more expansive catalog and set of sounds. House of Cards is one of these. This is a vocal line song (Jungkook, V, Jin, and Jimin) which as you picked up can be interpreted variously. BTS has a storyline called the BU and House of Cards lyrically can be seen as the thoughts/emotions of the story's protagonist at the tail ending of the Prologue chapter. It also can apply to a number of circumstances, a failing romantic relationship most comfortably.

The subunits always shine for BTS (and as they are strongly performance based it gives a group of them a time to rest while some are performing). This live version is so nice with a live band and even exhausted and dripping sweat after a bunch of high energy dance numbers their vocals are still amazing. If you like this style then The Truth Untold is another great one. If you want to check out the 3 missing rappers their subunit has fire songs like the 4 rap Cyphers, Ddaeng, and Ugh (highly suggest watching the Dkdktv explanation videos for the last two because they use a lot of Korean language and cultural references in Ugh and Ddaeng especially).

You called it! It was a vocal line song - Jungkook, V, Jimin & Jin. The rappers - RM, Suga and J-Hope. BTS members have over 300 songs in their discography, and the individual members have released free music/mix tapes as well on Sound Cloud etc.. This is just the vocal line. Main singer, JK followed by V, Jin and Jimin. Yes they are simply awesome. Their harmony is unmatched. The rap line consists of RM the main rapper, Suga and JHope, but all 7 of them can sing and JK is an awesome rapper too.

So glad you gave them another try. I saw your 1st reaction and wasn’t sure you would. It’s always disappointing when someone listens to 1 or 2 songs and says nope, not for me. BTS has so much to offer and it’s sad to see people give up so easily. Kudos for not doing that. I just subscribed and hope to see more of your journey here. Some videos on their background are really helpful in getting to know them better and will shed some light on why they do what they do. Tiny Desk Concert and Festa 2021 are both good videos for seeing a variety of their work. Festa is a kind of medley from albums of the early days right through to fairly recently. (When was Telepathy released?) Anyway, I think you’ll enjoy both of those. Black Swan, (mv first and then a live one) Home is a good one. Micro Kosmos and Magic Shop (both live) are a couple others you should check out.

Yes, the house of cards was their situation in the kpop industry as underdogs and outsiders when they were being roadblocked by the powerful rich so called Big 3, media and channels.
