At the beginning he was talking about the shadow that comes with the light of fame, the bigger the light the bigger the shadow. After the switch up it was the shadow itself talking to him telling him “you are me and I am you” or to just accept that he’s there would be easier for him. He’s a genius.

this song really fits with what yoongi said in burn the stage youtube red series: “i wanted to succeed and make music, but strangely i never wanted to be famous.” also on their 2018 anniversary he said he was going through troubles and even cried while taking a shower because he was afraid of their fame in a way because at any moment because of any mistake they are at risk of having everything fall apart. the song propels his mentality towards fame and its responsibility that is a shadow that threatens to devour him and causes him to lose himself. the mv also showcases things they go through like people breaking into their hotels or following them to their hotels and touching them and shoving their phones in their faces without care.

Thanks for reacting to Interlude_Shadow though there's actually more depth on its meaning. SUGA isn't telling anyone he's the best but rather talking about the anxiety of being at the top. That at the end of the day they get lonely, they feel alone and that he's scared of the fame but at the same time telling himself - It's what he wanted. Yea the more famous bus becomes, the more lights on them. But the more light means the bigger the shadows, which symbolize the dark side of being famous. Yoongi doesn't want to fail but he also doesn't want to keep rising. At the beginning, when he says he wants to be king and all that, that's what he wanted at the beginning and growing up but now that he has those things, it's "lonely up here" at the top and "he's afraid."

Guys this song is allot more introspective than what you’ve perceived by Suga’s journey to the top. Suga meets his shadow one he gets there and comes to an understanding with his shadow that they are one as he grapples with the fear that comes with this fame and success. The final flow switch at the end is from his shadow’s perspective that’s why it’s so chaotic.
