BTS is composed of 4 vocalists and 3 rappers. They have a very diverse discography, they do edm, pop, r&b, hiphop, neo-soul, ballads, etc. THEY ARE ALSO VERY GOOD LIVE. They are all stable even when they are doing intense choreographies. You might wanna check their Tiny Desk Concert or if u wanna see some dancing watch their most legendary MMA ( Melon Music Awards) 2019 performance (40 minute performance). oh and yep sometimes they might look too feminine but it is part of their culture and thats just the way they are. @@akilcox ​ @Akil Cox Understandable, it's a lot to take in. They have ALOT of content. I'll hook you up when I have time, but everyone's BTS journey/discovery is unique so don't feel pressure. I discovered them last year during quarantine, and my perceptions and reactions were similar to yours. While I don't think I went as far as considering them a joke, I just never paid them any mind. I really assumed they were for the "High School Musical/ Disney" crowd (I thought that about all Kpop). Which is cool, but just not my scene. I got hooked by their personality (and a taste of some of their songs) when they were on James Corden Carpool Karaoke. First MV I watched was Mic Drop, and my jaw hit the ground when I heard J Hope's grimy rapping. It was NOT what I expected. Then I discovered that they are so much more than just good-sounding music. Their music has a message, and they are just an icon for how to maintain a loving and supporting relationship with any group you're a part of (family, friends, professional). They are very inspirational and have fans from all walks of life and parts of the world and ages. I've never seen anything like it, and I've been around since MJ and Prince.

I liked both your comments, but I feel like this aspect of their greatness doesn't always get the attention it deserves. The ARMY certainly loves their relationship, but to me the example they set with it is a truly beautiful & powerful thing, and maybe the most significant thing about them in some ways. I understand hearing it is hurtful, but it's a reality that they themselves acknowledged (the reality of them being characterized incorrectly as such). I think it's important that he's saying aloud what some people/reactors may have pre-conceived but didn't say. It's the beginning of character development, and it may show other people that may be thinking the same thing (having never encountered them or their music), that they are missing out based on their prejudices, and if someone who once thought of them as a "joke", like they do, can be turned around, maybe there is something there.
